Freedom church has been such a blessing in my walk with Christ! I found my husband on a Christian dating app and he invited me to freedom church , we attended every Sunday! Now we call freedom church our home church! I have met so many amazing people through the church! Friendships that are everlasting and helped me along my journey walking with Christ! I have 5 years sober I've known god I've been to church Aa I had a connection with him but when my life took a turn for the worst last year and everything was falling apart my aunt kept bringing me to this church for the last 10 years she tried to get me there and last year I went running . I am conflicted about this church. Today would be the third time I attend with my daughters 15 and 10. I parked next door and as I walked on the side walk towards the church I noticed beer cans on the floor and men smoking (AGAIN) and cursing. Where in the worldly place am I. Am I going to church or taking my daughters to the local bar ?? Mind you this is a recurring problem. As I sat in church I was thinking about the time Jesus had righteous anger when he whipped people out of the Temple during the sabbath while they were selling goods. I don't understand what makes people think it's okay to be disrespectful in the house of The Lord. The church should fix this. Its conflicting because my 10 year loves the kids area and my 15 years loves the sermons. I to like the sermons and the worship. That being said, I don't think I will be attending again. The smoking and cursing in front of the church is a bad example for my daughters. This review is not to bash the church rather give constructive criticism. read more

Some folks find it hard to take scripture and understand how that scripture applies to our everyday lives. Justice does a wonderful job at breaking down the scripture and uses real life experiences and examples of how the word of God is applied to our life struggles and successes. The Church is clean, very friendly and offers donuts for the earlier services. It's great because my children do not mind going because of the donuts...just keeping real like pastor Justice! My 4 and 2.5 year old go to the same child care during our service even though it's for 3-4 year olds. Shhhh . Freedom church makes you feel connected with the word of God and there isn't a feeling of condemnation for everyday living. Pastor Justice delivers the message with Humility, passion, love, knowledge and humor. No place of worship is perfect, because it's the people (community) that make a space what it is, but when God dwells in it/them, what else do you need? I went to this church many years ago had had problems in my life. At the time, the church was very small and met in a bar. Pastor Justice was approachable at the time and he personally called me to deal with an issue in my life when he became concerned. I ended up leaving the church due to personal issues and a fe years later, I wrote a letter to Justice to explain to him that the reason why I was so angry at the time, I had found out was due to a generational curse that was in my family and that the Lord could not remove it until AFTER my entire immediate family died. This past Thanksgiving, I went to the church in order to get a meal and to pick up a supply of food since I have fallen on hard times. Pastor Richard sat next to me at the table I as at and talked to me for TWO HOURS, getting to know me before he got up and left. I then saw Justice enter the building and I attempted to approach him to talk to him and Richard appeared out of nowhere, and stopped me from approaching Justice and told me that "They were not going to allow me to talk to him." I calmly and politely asked why. Richard told me, "We got your letter back 2015 and 'we' are concerned about you." I calmly replied,"Then If you read my letter, you know why I used to be so angry and I explained why and that I wrote the letter to make amends." Richard told me that "he forgave me." - If that as the case, then why did he not exonerate me from the "crimes" that he though that I was guilty of? I also mentioned something about Jimmy Johnson and a meeting the three of us had and Richard said to me, "Jimmy is no longer here." I then said "Gee! I wonder why after he anted to Farther me then got caught fornicating with his girlfriend!" I as met with dead silence! I then said, "Well, we are now going around in circles, so I am putting an end to all of this. Have a nice day as I highly doubt Richard that you are even saved." It is interesting to me that Justice seems to have now become so popular and big that he now needs "bodyguards." Is he john MacAuther or Billy Graham? COME ON! Why has he become unapproachable, especially since his wife is open to talking to anyone? I do not think that the Lord is really in this place and they are taking a good game, but not practicing what they preach. read more

Would like more fellowship after service, but they do have other ministries during the week. And seasonal Life Groups. Pastor Justice grew up in Valley, so he knows his people's struggles/strength. And speaks humorously and powerfully spiritual at the same time. Giving away 1000 Vans to local neighborhood children soon. If a person wants to help out their fellow neighbor by giving them a Christmas basket or money or food , how dare you try to pull this tithing nonsense on me today. My friends convinced me to watch this nonsense today and it bothered me a lot. He basically talked down on a person for not trusting the church , rather than focusing on the good that was done by donating money to a charity. I wish I could give more than 5 stars!! I'm not exaggerating in the least when I say that Freedom Church and the community there has absolutely changed my life completely. I grew up in the church and was severely abused in the church context when I was younger. I never thought I'd go back to a church and be able to be open to Christianity again. After being asked to go to Freedom so many times in a row I finally agreed. From the moment I stepped through their doors I knew it was different. Let me preface this by saying this is my initial impression. There is a lot more to a church than my first service, but it left such a strong impression on me, that I'm going to go for at least the next 4 weeks. I went there for the first time for Easter Sunday. I found a flyer in the Wal-Mart parking lot that talked about "Not Your Mom's Church". I took the flyer home, looked over their website, and thought it was worth trying out. I'm not in to "rah-rah, I'm always doing AWESOME!" churches, or huge places where you walk in, smile at people, hear the message and then walk out without connecting at all... so I had some initial thoughts as to what I WASN'T looking for. Let me talk about the logistical stuff first... they hold it at Chatsworth High School. Parking was plentiful, they made it clear where to go, lots of people serving out front, and everyone seemed friendly... as it should be :) Some people might not like that it's not at a church. I'm fine with it. There was more than enough space and I thought it worked well. Child care was very well run. They background check and screen their workers, and don't allow parents in the room... only workers, which is exactly how it should be. There is a check in, check out system, and both my kids, 4th grade and 2nd grade enjoyed it. For a church this young to have this set up this way was fantastic. I've been a part of something similar for about 5 years myself, and it's a lot of work and there are a lot of legal and parental issues to work through, and they nailed it. We met in the auditorium, and the initial music was a little loud, but they even had earplugs there! Well done... well done. They seemed to have thought through a lot of things. Now on to the bigger things. I feel like this church's heart collectively is in the right place. They are givers and look to find needs to meet, not because that's what the church has decided to do, but it's what THEY want to individually do. They do not do it to be seen, but to "help", which is VERY refreshing. They look for that individual connection and are not self promoting. The congregation was very balanced. Old people, young people, white, black, hispanic, Asian... mixed couples.... that to me is a great sign because it provides both stability and wisdom with fire and zeal. Justice the minister looked to be young 30's, with a 3 year old kid. He was very hip, but super relatable. I wasn't expecting much, but his message hit me VERY square and gave me a completely different perspective on the Lazarus story which I've read and seen a million times. His background and historical information was phenomenal and he came not in a condescending way, but a realistic and hopeful way... about how life could and should be when walking in the spirit and what we can be a part of. Lots of scripture was used, so it wasn't just his interpretation or a story, which again, I think is important. He was available in the back of the auditorium and when I went up to him, took the time to talk with me. They were doing baptisms after the service, full immersion and it was something that much of the congregation participated in and were surrounding those who made the choice. They had people on the side of the room ready to help those who were moved by the message after the service with prayer, which I think is extremely important. When God moves you to a place of openness or he cracks that crusty shell around your heart, or you realize you just can't hold all the pieces together anymore, you NEED that prayer and that support. There's no better time to strike than when the iron is hot. So many places have moving sermons, and then people walk out...the fire fades by the next day, and the walls come back up, but thicker. I've been to several churches before, have been on staff, seen a lot of things... and this church has a lot of the right stuff as far as I'm concerned. I didn't get a feel of "religion", but rather one of commitment and a desire to have a personal connection with God and each other. I really got a great vibe from this place, and look forward to coming back here to see and learn more. read more

I was looking for a church to attend on Sunday's. I said since I look for good reviews on food why not try Yelp for church. Good thing I search because I would of never found Freedom Church. It had really good reviews and not a single bad review. I wanted to start attending church and wanted a church that my daughter would enjoy going to every Sunday. I told my wife that this church seem really good and we should just try it to see if we like the church. It starts at 9:30am and we got there 30 minutes before. The staff was very welcoming to the church and they had a nice little bread/coffee table set up before you enter. Sign up my daughter for the kids zone program they have. The first day we attended church we really like pastor Justice. He gives really good examples of what the bible says. He's funny. After the service I pull up my daughter from the kids zone and ask her if she like the church and if she wanted to go back next Sunday. She couldn't wait until next Sunday to attend and she looks forward to every Sunday's church. It's going to be out 3rd time attending and we can say we found our Sunday church. read more
