Preparing a 15 year old to drive is terrifying. I am so glad we chose to send our son to the 911…read moredriving school in North Tacoma. At first we didn't think we could afford it because it was considerably more than other schools in the area. Then someone told me that each month one of the schools offers a $75 discount...the discount changes from school each month. We decided that you only learn how to drive one time...who better to teach our son to drive than police officers? He did excellent, he is such a safe driver and so knowledgeable and confident. I can't imagine sending him anywhere else to drive.

I had previously left a review that I later deleted. After working more with this school, I've seen…read morethat they are truly doing their best. It can be difficult to hire, train, and keep the right people in place, and I've learned that instead of relying on the online scheduler, the best approach is simply to call. When I reached out directly, they showed me nothing but patience and flexibility, and worked very hard to accommodate my daughter's busy schedule. In the end, they got all of her drives scheduled, and I'm grateful for their effort. I've learned to give them grace and trust that they will do everything possible to make it work for families. My daughter also really enjoyed the instruction, and I feel like this will make her a safer driver. I would use them again in a second!

Well, let me start by saying my overall experience with the actual training was very good. Any…read moretraining helps you figure out techniques and approaches you may want to adapt and refine, while others you may appreciate less. The class I took at Touratech Rally 2026 was a great way to have a low expense jump into one of their trainings. Their style is more rigid than other classes I've taken, but it feels more structured and intentional than too. I signed up for level 2 and level 3. As I've taken trainings several other places, I was really looking forward to the level 3 work and took the level 2 more to get in sync with the expectations of their foundations than feeling that was the more beneficial need. So is the training good, yes. I initially started to write this in a more positive light as I had a problem and I felt it was handled well. While writing this, I realized they dropped the ball months before the event and it ultimately cost me time, money, frustration, and it caused me to not get the level 3 training I paid for and wanted to attend. Unfortunately, they cancelled the training I signed up for at the rally (the level 3 on Sunday). It appears, based on marketing emails shortly after I signed up, that option was omitted/eliminated nearly 2 months before I even arrived. I would have changed to the level 3 on Friday and ditched the level 2, had I known ahead of time. I planned it to be in logical order, 2 on Friday and 3 on Sunday. I even showed up on Friday and there was no notification that my other training had changes made, I could have adjusted if it was even this late in notification...but, nope. In addition, the lack of notification drove me to prepay for my dog to stay at the Leavenworth dog care; I paid extra to have them come in early for my drop-off as they normally open at 0800 on Sunday and I needed to drop the dog off at 0700 so I could make the 0800 training. I had no need now to check the dog in, so this was purely cash out of pocket that I should not even have planned for let alone paid for since the training was off. Next, the way I found out about the cancellation was Saturday night when I crossed paths with Jason at the rally; upon sharing I'd see him the next morning he shared it had been cancelled as I was the only one who signed up. Too late to cancel dog plans; had I known I was not training I would have left Saturday night to get to Portland and then drive the rest of the way home Sunday. Instead, I took Monday as a vacation day to travel after the training day planned Sunday, that vacation day was now a waste. I went to the event solo with the intention of focusing largely on training and riding with some good people I knew would be there, but nobody was around Sunday to get more riding out of the day together with friends. After these disappointments and Jason sharing that the refund would of course happen, I sent 2 emails and ultimately had to contact him to get things resolved. Zero issues or pushback, so no complaints about that, but for something that appears to have been cancelled months prior and having to chase my refund...that just feels wrong. It was resolved super quickly while I was on the phone, the situation was obviously an unintentional situation, but I definitely should have been given more proactive attention than was provided over the time from signing up in April to post-rally in July. I will likely go back and try to actually get the advanced training I'd like, but I hate to think I'll have to be more engaged to ensure it actually happens than one should when shelling out several hundred bucks to sit in somebody else's pocket for several months and to have them cost me other fees out of pocket and drive me to waste a vacation day too. First world problems for sure, but all caused by a lack of communication that could have been resolved in a simple email or phone call when the decision was made.
