In this review I'm going to mainly talk about taking advantage on the par 3 holes that you'll have four of on any championship par 72 golf course. Executive golf courses are comprised of multiple par 3's, playing to a par of 60, you can definitely find tune your mid to low iron play at these courses. Anytime your in the teeing area you must know that you have great advantages and set yourself up to the full use of them. Ball tee hight, shot angles away from dangers, distance and yardage. Depending on your skill level all of these factors should be used to create the best opportunity to hit the green, two putt for par and maybe drop in a birdie but play for par, center of the green - no flag hunting ever unless you know the course and know the placements. Think like the golf course architect, do a little research on him. What does he do to guard against your ball? High thick rough? heavily bunkered? swails and waving countours on the green? How does it slope? Front to back but more likely back to front. By PGA and R&A Rules your allowed two club lengths back from the teeing area your playing from. So two driver lengths is 90 inches approximately, so if your yardage book is giving you 172 from the blue tees and your sure you can hit a 7 iron 177 if you pure it, pace off three steps back to 176 and play from there, legally without penalty. I'm a high ball hitter, I like to open the club a little and hit a little baby fade into flagsticks although I prefer to draw the ball. Problem is the draw double cross miss can result in a overcooked ten yard yank that'll put your ball off the green, under a bush and a tunnel of trees ahead. How your wrist a bit, keep it locked, aim just left of the flag (unless the wind is blowing right with a left flag) club up a bit, hit the 6 instead of the 7 choking down a bit. The biggest problem I see with amateur players is that they don't hit enough club, coming up short and facing a testy bump and run, pitch, chip or flop all which are shots one must practice hard and play with confidence, so avoid the short misses. Freedom Fairways will give you the opportunity to play these 150 and in shorts, the most important scoring shots. Nobody likes to work on this most important scoring zone and I don't understand why. I'd drill for hours on 50-60-70 yarders until the sun went down and my hands hurt. So in conclusion, play the executive courses, although Freedom Fairways might be the only one in the area. And go see Doc in the club making area near the first tee. His knowledge and wisdom had me ask him to watch my practice which he did and said I'm "an over swinger" which I can not deny. But I still love to Grip it and Rip it. read more

The staff at this golf course is genuinely very nice, I always look forward to interacting with them during my visits at this course. The course is in good shape, the greens are a little fuzzy and bumpy. I'm not a great putter so this doesn't affect my game. This course is short, 3214 yards from the tips so it's great to work on your short game. Something I need to do each and every week for the rest of my days. The carts are in great shape so no issue with them. Glad I came out and played this course, course management is something I still need to work on as my score reflects that. Good first- super nice gentleman working the shop. Very personable, very nice. The 1 star review is based purely on the cost and the condition of the course. Costs $30+ to play it, and the greens are literally like putting in a sand trap. They told us they were a little "beachy". No, they're a little bit grassy, and a whole lot beachy. Nice par 3-4 course. My buddy and I are getting back into golfing after #dadlife. Great course to get back in the feel of things. Staff was friendly and helpful, the facilities were very clean. I will be back. Hopefully next round my score will be a bit lower. Cheers. read more

Interesting par 3/4 course tucked behind Home Depot shopping center that winds thru an assisted living complex. Well kept with lots of water and wildlife .. birds , turtles and the occasional alligator . 18 holes is $35 7 days a week under the new management. If your looking to improve you iron game .. this is the place . Some great holes that can test you especially from the back tees - pace of play was good ( under 3 hours ) and starter and the women inside were very pleasant to deal with. I will be back read more

OK, just golfed 18 holes in 2 hours. $16.50 total including a cart. No free beer at that price, though. It'll be $15 until October 1. I didn't feel the heat or humidity too much, so it was quite enjoyable. No one else was before or after me. The course is in decent shape. A couple doglegs, some mushy areas you've gotta shoot around. Some nice water hazards and plenty of jungle on either side. Half Par 4s, the rest Par 3s...and they're all doable, even for crappy golfers like me. Hole 13 is the best chance to get a hole in one. The 18th sucks...lots of rough and mushy, watery grass. I lost two balls and found 3! For those reasons, I recommend neon balls for this course. I'd rate it it a 7 due to the cost, course layout and convenience (very close to my home). read more

Wish I could leave no star because I would! Where do I start... first off the course conditions are horrific, I would be better off going to the beach and playing in the sand.. this course has no bunkers but there greens are covered with sand! There was zero arifiiatcon alerts. On top of it all hole 14 was closed. The only good thing about this course is Doug the front desk guy, he's awesome deserves to work for a better course tho.. not worth the money! This was a terrible trip. It started with the pro shop -the lady in there was downright rude. Also they only accept cash for anything to purchase in the pro shop other than your golf rate, they had a really cute golf bag koozie I would have definitely gotten if they could put it on the card. If you have a rider don't even bother. Apparently they don't let riders there, even though she "allowed it today" don't know why that makes much of a difference. The course itself was considered executive - but it was all extremely short drives and crammed into one another. We felt on top of other players the whole time. The greens were not very nice either. We actually left and went to a different course. read more

I love this different styled course. We had a party of 4 and they treated us like family from the minute we came through the door. There's plenty of shaded areas which when you're playing in the dead of summer is a welcome relief. So much natural landscaping and wildlife was all around. Truly a pleasure. In my opinion, reviews on other sites speaking poorly of the grounds and sortness of course are from golf snobs and people who clearly didn't read that it's an executive course. For the casual players, like us, who go for fun and exercise vs par scores or length of grass, it's perfect. Oh, and the older gentleman who took our carts after we were done, was absolutely lovely. read more

We ate at The Plaza Club at Freedom Fairways. The house salad was attractively arranged with a nice selection of veggies. Only two dressings were available: ranch and honey mustard. We would have liked something lighter. The rolls were excellent. My daughter and I each ordered the prime rib. Both meats were way overcooked, tough and difficult to cut. Since we couldn't eat the meat, we took our dinners home to cut up into soup. Service was professional and polite, but slow because just two servers were taking care of our group of 20 people. We would not recommend this restaurant. read more
