Taken from their yardage book, excerpts: " in the heart of Manatee County is a golf course that combines championship golf, outstanding course conditions and natural beauty.Generous landing areas off the tee, coupled with well bunkered undulating greens, weaving through wetlands and rich wildlife" I've seen these similar words on other local yardage books, perhaps one company owns a few courses here all as prices shift in concert and other little inconsiquential tendencies have common threads. Courses once private, now semi private and with play decreasing, less money, the less the course can be maintained in these less populated towns. Prices in December to March are almost triple what they are now (using GolfNow) in the sweltering midsummer southeast Florida heat. It'll be wise to have a GPS if it's your first time as there are quite a few blind shots - you want your target golf game with you as you're often playing for position. It's not the length that will be the issue - it's rather narrow with smaller landing areas than I'm accustomed to in this area. read more

Workers treat you with no respect, greens were worst I've ever seen, and for a second I thought the fairways were roughs. As for the food, my game actually dropped as I thought I was sick. The cashier should hang up the jersey. Absolutely horrible. read more

I really love this place I moved here about four months ago. The food is spectacular the staff is so nice and I'm here about every other day at least for the food. The ladies take so much care and making all the stuff themselves it's simply wonderful and the prices are hands-down the best. Especially better than any restaurant In the area. A friend and I golfed here yesterday, both for the first time. It's a really lovely course, winding through homes, wooded areas and water and sand hazards. Lots of wildlife...even a good-sized gator. Because of a lack of carts(?), we weren't able to start at our scheduled tee time. We didn't get a cart until an hour past and were paired with another couple. It's a policy of this course to only send out foursomes. There was a lady selling hot dogs, chips, soda and beer at the starting area, and that was nice. We finally got to go and we're put behind a group of 7. It was extremely slow going and there was a constant line in front of and behind us. It was a pleasant day and the weather was nice. The crowd thinned out after the 9th hole and the pace quickened a bit. We only passed one other group (at the 15th hole) as the others had also returned early. There were a couple of employees left when we turned the carts in at 6 PM and they were pleasant and helpful. read more

The course is a goat ranch. Greens recently punched and they fail to tell you before play. $40 for a course that should not cost $20. Not to mention the jackass of a starter who takes it upon himself to search golf bags. Nowhere does it say they reserve the right to search your bag. We play this course often and it is in great shape. However, the rates have continued to go up this winter to $75/round. I feel like the course is taking advantage of the overly busy season this year. I don't plan to play the course until May when the rates should go back to a reasonable price read more

What a great hidden gem for local golfers! First visit today, and won't be my last. Greens were in fabulous shape, as was most of the course. Very green despite the dry weather conditions we are experiencing. And a GREAT value! Even the drink cart is very reasonably priced, along with the restaurant adjacent to the pro shop. If you want to play an excruciating slow paced golf course play this one.....the last 4 times ive played here it's been a 5+ hour round of golf....no starter, ranger doesnt keep them moving....they squeeze people in who don't have tee times....they've taken a nice course and have made it miserable to play. The Greenfield Plantation course is one of the nicest courses we play regularly when we are in Bradenton. We cannot wait till we are back . I really miss playing this course. We had to leave on March 20th 2020 when COVD got out of control and had to return to Canada before the border closed. We will not been able to return until this year on November 7th 2021. I told my friends from Ottawa Canada about Greenfield. They will be wintering in Bradenton. We now will be 12 golfers from Canada who will be wintering in Bradenton. I can promise that Greenfield Plantation will be our base course. See you all very soon. I hear the course is in excellent condition read more

we set a tee time for 2:36 on Sunday March 7th we paid for 18 holes we didn't tee off until around 3:30 there was such a back up that we had to wait until the people ahead cleared out on every hole . We finished the ninth hole about 6:00 it starts to get dark we went to the club house asked if we could get a refund for the difference. Cause we could not play in the dark. The guy in the pro shop I explained to him that we can not play anymore because it's getting dark he said to bad play as much as you can get in . That's really not acceptable . We will not play there again. read more

The course is in good condition but the pace was the worst I've seen. They are strict up til tee off then it's no rangers and who cares!

I would love to give this course more stars... but due to the ignorant asshat starter, I cannot. We've played there twice now and had the same experience each time it's the same guy (once on a weekend and once on a weekday). The guy is insulting, rude, and completely out of line. Don't believe me? Play there once and I guarantee you know exactly who I'm talking about. Our tee time was 7:32. We arrived at 6:50 because we had a little bit of a drive. This guy wouldn't get away from us to start even though our fourth hasn't arrived yet. I politely said that our tee time was still 20 ish minutes away and that our fourth would be there shortly. He told me that "the tee time is a suggestion" and "our forth would have to come catch up with us". No, buddy. $70+ bucks a round... you won't rush me off the box before my time. Then we had the usual old man golf league playing off the ladies tees trying to intimidate us by talking loudly and reversing their cart while I was teeing off... I hope you're all very proud that your level of douche is equivalent to the starter. We finished our round in under 4 hours so we weren't playing slowly. So the niceties: course is very well maintained, the rest of the staff is friendly, on the weekend they have ready made (and delicious) items at the turn, the level of difficulty is perfect, and when away from the loud road, the course is serene. read more

I read many nice reviews on this course so I decided to try it out when I was visiting the area at end of February. Course is an incredible value. Tee'd off at 2 for 18 w/ cart for $20. Greens were in good shape. Something like 6 tee boxes so lots of challenging and fun shots. Staff was friendly. I'd go back. read more

This used to be a course I loved. My favorite times were playing with my son who I rarely get to see. Last year we went out for an outing it rained and we were given a rain check. 14 months later my son came back into town and we wasted no time in heading to the golf course with rain check in hand. They refused to honor the rain check. They literally called me a liar like I tried to fabricate the rain check. I was embarrassed and my son was irate. I will never play this course again. All the wonderful memories my family and I had of this place were completely erased with that one abusive moment. I hope they were happy and save some money by not honoring their rain check. Play someplace else there are a lot of golf courses that would love your business and like their customers. read more

I have played Greenfield Plantation several times and have had mostly good experiences. Yesterday, however was different. The course management needs to monitor play so that play doesn't get slow and frustrating. We followed a group of four that played extremely slow. At hole 10 we told the starter and he said ask them to play through. We did and they said definitely not. Nothing was done about the situation so it became more frustrating. It took 5 1/2 hours to play and it was difficult to keep any kind of rhythm. I realize the course was busy but play should be continuous. read more

Greens were very slow. Range was almost nonexistent. Other than that, the course was nice. Fairways and tee boxes were in good shape. layout was interesting and fun. handful of blind tee shots, if you've never played this course some kind of GPS app will come in handy off the tee. It's essentially your average West Florida golf course, very flat very wet, standard Florida course. read more
