TL;DR - If you're looking for an inspector, hire this company immediately! Matthew was fantastic. He was able to inspect our new construction house on very short notice and was extremely thorough. He caught difficult things like a loose bolt under a pillar and framing missing nails and also major things like cracked roof trusses. He was super responsive. We had a few questions and replied to them immediately. Also the inspection report was available to us within hours of if the inspection, same day! Our meeting with him went really well too.we were not able to be on-site but he did a walkthrough via Zoom, showing us all about our house. We saw all the stuff that was done well, and everything that was an issue. There's 2 more inspections in the build process and we will be hiring him again for each of them. We are not from the Upstate area of SC, in fact we are not from SC. We are building a house in the Spartanburg area and really don't know any locals so we found Freedom from there website. We sort of took a chance that there description of what they had to offer was accurate. Well it was. Matthew is very professional and knowledgeable.. we were able to schedule quickly and got the initial inspection when we wanted it. He is very detail oriented and you will not feel that he hasn't checked everything. Documents with photos and his write up all 30 or 40 pages of it are very descriptive of what he saw. We also had him back for a final inspection and my opinion didn't change. I would also say that he and the building super got along well and could talk about his findings. I don't think you would be disappointed with his work, He wasn't t he cheapest but he probably charged similar to other inspectors but I am not sure you would get as good from all the others read more

Matthew with Freedom Home Services flooded my home during his inspection on Monday 7/23/2018. I have already written a review on this but he has somehow managed to have it take down. Matthew was testing the overflow in our tub and the water was left running which caused water damage and flooding in our home. He has taken zero responsibility for his actions and is refusing to pay for a remediation expert to come repair the damages to our home. Matthew also did not notify anyone of the situation. Our agent walked into our home water all over the floor and a towel thrown down his response was "There is a leak" and "this happens all the time". We have since had to seek legal counsel and file complaints with the BBB to have this situation resolved. Matthew uses his clients lack of knowledge to intimidate and scare buyers but fortunately we are both in this business and were able to see that he was careless and negligent in our home. Please learn from my mistake and always be present when you have someone in your home especially when you are buying or selling or you may find yourself in similar situation. read more
