Freedom Trail Realty School was great for Massachusetts State Licensure. I especially liked the instructor Bob Raiche, as well as Janice Diaz. The practice tests were more helpful in preparing you for the test than the practice questions, as they were more anecdotal. I did pass the MA and Federal exam through PSI on the first try. Just wanted to note that PSI no longer issues licenses. It is now done through the Board of Registration. I learned this the hard way, as PSI took payment from me, when they were actually supposed to give the test results to the Board, upon which they ask you to pay, upload your own picture and print the license (laminated it too). This took about 3 weeks and many phone calls to straighten out. I still need to be reimbursed by PSI as essentially I have paid 2X for my license. I have just finished the real estate salesperson class here at Freedom Trail Realty school. The instructional video, live and pre-recorded, that was provided was of high quality and very engaging. I am new to learning online, after completing this class I found online learning very rewarding. The idea of online learning is hard to imagine, so if you are wondering what it was like, I will give a quick few words about the tremendous experience that I had. The classes are big, sometimes 150 students, it is neat to think that there are that many students learning with you. Imagine, you are all alone in the comfort of your home at your computer, no commute to class, no distractions, no uncomfortable chairs that hurt your back. The amount of students that attend really increase your opportunity for hearing enriching questions and answers from class. The questions are asked verbally or by a written text box on the right side of the screen, it allows you to read and interact with the class. The interaction within the class between the instructor and students is very valuable. The content is very rich, instructors, including the owner, wield real life experience combined with a real passion for teaching. There are many bonuses to the class that were not expected and very valuable. The school provides a completed Quizlet software program to help you learn over 700 vocabulary terms (huge time saver). Freedom Trail also provides a comprehensive, but brief handbook that presents complex real estate material fairly easily. There are also very smart practice questions with excellent charting and graphing software to monitor your strengths and weaknesses, targeting the areas that you need to continue studying. The experience was nothing short of perfect, I highly recommend the school for anyone who desires to take the real estate salesperson test for the state of Massachusetts. Recommend it for the convenience, but I'm taking the PSI's own practice tests and the questions contained phrases and words that were barely if not at all mentioned in the classes. The PSI practice exams make the FTRS practice exams seem elementary. read more

After completing 80% of my 40 hour course, they archived my entire course progress due to a "glitch" in the system on their end. They then told me I would need to start the entire 40 hour course over from the beginning and pay for the entire course with a "sale of 10% off" and a special "$100 credit." They did not offer any compensation or assistance until I actively advocated for myself. A careless mistake that cost me energy, money, and most importantly, time I cannot get back. Look elsewhere for educational resources and opportunities before settling here. read more

I have not written a Yelp review in a long time because it's rare that I have such a wildly positive experience with a business. I just completed a four day, 40-hour real estate licensing course with instructor Will Henchy. I was initially concerned about the level of attention I would be able to maintain in such a compressed timeframe, but Will is a true pro at keeping things moving at a reasonable pace and in a manner that made me want to listen and absorb a lot of important information. I am sure there are several other reputable real estate training programs out there, but if you land on this one, just stop. It is across the street from North Station and super easy to find. It manages any class size with appropriate technology. Finally, it is a pleasant atmosphere in which to work and learn. My husband and I both took classes from Will at FTR in 2014 and 2015. As well as continuing education credits. As folks have mentioned Will's teaching style is clear, concise and tough. His tests during the class make you work for every answer and feel like you failed at times. Which is honestly the best thing he could do for everyone. The tests are much harder than the state exam which helps people pass more easily. It also encourages people to ask questions and learn to be an agent before stepping foot into the office. The most important thing about FTR is the passing rate on the test. I've heard other agents or potential agents groan about how many additional hours they had to study or re-learn items for the test. Not only did I take the test within a week, 2 years later I can still explain a lot of the terms I learned in Will's lessons. read more

I too highly recommend Freedom Trail Realty School if you are interested in getting your Real Estate or Brokers license. I just took the 4 day 40 hour crash course class. MA mandates that if you'd like to get your RE license, you must take a 40 hour accredited class, signup and pay for the exam, and pay for the MA license. Will, the owner of Freedom Trail, was in short, exceptional. Pros: - He had several options for the class times: during the week and 2 weekend classes - Excellent location: the class location was at Park St./Downtown Crossing - He's highly knowledgeable, young, happy to help, wants you to learn, small class sizes. - He gives you everything you need, minus the calculator. Great daily class materials, great end of class and review documents. - He happened to be cheaper than any other class I could find. As I hoped, he offers a competitive price not because of quality, but because he wants to make sure he gets full class sizes. I think that's the right approach. Once you start a class, from a school's perspective, they need to get as many people they can for each class. So this is a really savvy move on their part. Cons: - Not really any I can think of. The only thing I would mention is that if you have seat/back issues, they have cushioned seats. However, anyone with any major back or hip issues might want to talk to him or bring an extra cushion. For myself and the others in my class, no one had an issue. ----- The class I took was 10 people total. I was able to move my test date up a week after the class. I personally aced the test. It's not an easy exam, several people will fail one of the portions of the test. But I was supremely confident after this class going into the test. This is a great class. Will was awesome and went over everything in detail and gave us plenty of practice questions for review. Classes are very small which acts as an advantage to any student. I didn't want to die after each 10 hour class... which is REALLY saying something so naturally I would recommend this class to anyone. The online classes were convenient but really boring. I didn't have Will who, when I reviewed content was much more engaging than the educator I was able to take my classes with so I'd definitely recommend Will above others if possible. It's great to be able to interact with the teacher and other students while learning online. Once your 40 hours are done Freedom Trail has test prep which I found overly complex and full of unnecessary legalese. I spent weeks trying to understand what the content & terminology meant. My scores on their tests were dismal and my morale was very low. There was no way to connect outside of the class with any other student if taking the online course & I felt very isolated. I was unable to pass one of their practice tests. It's my belief that this complexity is set up to ensure that FTRS does not need to compensate anyone with their money back guarantee which is only honored if you pass 6 practice tests and fail the real estate exam. I subsequently paid for 2 other services for test prep that clearly laid out terms and concepts and had online practice tests that I could incrementally pass boosting my confidence & skill level. I highly recommend PrepAgent, which provides a very active Facebook study group and a variety of clear YouTube videos clearly explaining real estate concepts & terms. Very misleading which wasn't explain very properly you have to take 40 hours of live class. You can do 20 hours on your own schedule they're not live classes but only 20 hours. After that you have to do at least 20 hours of live classes this wasn't explain correctly. When I first enrolled, I was under the impression I can do the classes anytime but that's not the case. And then on top of it the class is a very boring. I literally have to will myself awake to get past them. read more

I took a 4-day course in classroom last Thursday and passed the salesperson exam yesterday, I can't believe it! I have to say Will is a really helpful and patient teacher, and the book is really relevant to the exam, I remember more than 95% of the questions in the exam can be found answers in the book, but you really need to memorize those points on the book well. Will is a rockstar teacher who is incredibly knowledgeable and truly a great teacher. I found out a large number of people fail the test on their first try. Not I! Because of the training I received from Will at Freedom Trail Realty School, I passed the exam in about 75 minutes and received my license right on the spot. I think this is the best option, because material is loaded with new terms, definitions and math problems so longer then 5hours class would be a real challenge. The instructor Will was super knowledgeable and made class time both interesting and enjoyable. Some of the material can be dry and boring but he managed to explain everything in clear and simple terms. Absolutely loved the efficiency, communication, and the course ! I am a RI resident and due to life stuff was not able to do an in class room, so went through Mass and so happy I did. I had a lot of questions before, during and after, but Will and his crew were amazing. I received my certificate on time for my exam (I scheduled it ahead of time to save an early spot). The course is not 100% self study as there is a requirement for certain scheduled courses. But the courses are on a consistent schedule. I had such an amazing experience at Freedom Trail Realty School! I took the four day class in Boston which flew by and I got to meet some really fascinating and sweet people. By the last day a group of us got lunch together. William, our teacher was incredible. He explained everything clearly and made learning fun and interesting. He was patient with our questions and was awfully helpful with not only how to study for the test but with real life situations we may come across. After the class he opened up the online program for us so we could continue our studying with the aid of on-demand classes which I found incredibly helpful! It was a lot to take in 40 hours all at once but after 20 hours of outside the classroom studying, I was able to pass my exam first try. I was confident going in because Will had prepared me for everything I needed to know. Also now I have Freedom Trail Realty School as a reference for helping me find a real estate brokerage that is perfect for me with all their online resources and help. If you're going to take a real estate sales person class, this is 100% the class to take. I have a handful of other friends who have taken similar classes and they typically involve the instructor handing you a giant book and saying memorize. Will (the owner of freedom realty), breaks down the content into its component parts and ignores the white noise. He truly has done a great job constructing this course and adequately prepares you for the real estate licensing test. I passed it in my first try without studying outside of class and I'd almost guarantee you'd pass if you study at all. He gives you about 500 practice problems over the course of the 40 hrs and they cover almost everything on the test. You may find one or two curveballs on the test but considering you need a 70% to pass you should be good. A few other reasons to take this class over another. 1) Will is appropriately funny. When you're learning material as dry environmental protection law, a little humor can go a long way. This helped keep my attention and really allowed me to memorize the majority of the material in class. Don't get me wrong, he's not Kevin Hart doing a standup routine but his positive attitude, energy, and liveliness helps the classroom learn and move forward at a productive pace. 2) Will knows real estate. This seems obvious for someone teaching a class but the kid really knows his stuff. I work in commercial real estate and he did a excellent job explaining some very complex topic. Not only that, Will can extrapolate significantly from the material if you're truly interested in understanding complex transactions. His field experience and deep understanding of real estate practice helps him explain many situations. 3) His office is at an amazing spot downtown. This seems completely unrelated but trust me it's not. You have 9 million food options to choose from and spending 8/10 hrs in room unfed and uncaffinated would be hell. Faneuil/North End are two minutes walk from his office for lunch and a dunkin donuts and Starbucks are literally right next to the building. In short, take this class if your want to become a licensed real estate sales person. It gives you a great chance to pass the tests and then how much money you make off the license is up to you!!
