Graduated from Launch; obtained job…read more I applied to Launch Academy since I was looking for a way to kick start my career after I lost my previous job and after weighing a few options ended up deciding on Launch and I think I can say it was honestly among the best decisions I've made in my life. The staff were extremely welcoming and supportive the whole way through and the students I worked with were also great. Even after graduating from Launch I felt I was connected to a great network that I can always reach out to for anything which I think some other bootcamps really don't give you access to. Now I won't shy away from it but this experience is NOT for everyone, you have to put a lot of money upfront for the course (like most bootcamps) and the curriculum is intense but I think the end result is truly worth it as you'll come out with understanding of technology that you did not have before and be ready at least put your foot in the door of the industry. If you're looking for a bootcamp that feels more welcoming but also will get you the tools you need for future programming jobs then I would recommend Launch.

I had to ask several times about how to pay, put off work for several months in order to attend, and spent a lot of time fundraising because the staff were unclear about how their payments plans worked. Feel free to message me for more info but I've decided to use One Month Rails and the free tutorials out there until I finish graduate school because the experience with these guys left me unsure about whether or not I would even get a decent education with them. I think they're a little immature in general and irresponsible financially. A lot of these bootcamps have a "large group awareness training" vibe to them, the enthusiasm behind which I was perhaps blind enough to enjoy, until I realized that they are incapable of providing a product or service in a way that would be helpful to me. I also had to bring up a lawsuit to get the deposit back - and call and email several times. Not a fun process. They made the ludicrous assertion that they don't refund deposits because of "all the resources" that they provide before the course starts, or something to that effect, but I still don't have access to the resources they promised other than a Dropbox file with books I would find for free that arguably aren't even the best materials on the subjects they suggest students study before the course starts. They also said I was getting access to "people," but the co-founder was going to be unable to address my issue for at least three days and the other available people were the folks who didn't understand how to communicate effectively to begin with. I had to remind them that I am an adult with a career and a life and that their admissions process was hindering my ability to get on with either. Their response to me was that the "family" there probably wouldn't be a good fit and that they were "revoking their acceptance" - I had to point out that if that's how they treat their family, they certainly don't deserve to call themselves one. It's also a pretty bad sign when businesses that can't be up front about money start calling themselves a family to make up for their lack of professionalism and inability to provide the structure and resources they promise you. A $10,000 merit award is fairly common among Lexington High School seniors. Our son's dream school was Babson College, and that was the goal we worked toward for years. After several years of working with Livius, his final SAT score was 1350. That is not a terrible score, but it is not impressive in Lexington, especially among Asian students. We ultimately sought additional support elsewhere. It is inappropriate to now imply that the entire result is solely your achievement. The core issue remains the sales process. We were strongly persuaded to purchase a large prepaid package, and were told at the time that it might even be insufficient for what our son would need. Based on that representation, we signed the so-called "non-refundable" agreement. After years of services, we still have more than 10 unused hours left. That alone speaks for itself. When we recently inquired about the remaining balance, the response was dismissive and focused only on the contract clause, without any acknowledgment of the inaccurate projections used to sell the package. Repeating "you signed a contract" while ignoring the context is not customer care -- it is deflection. Using ambiguous language to magnify results and take credit, while dismissing legitimate concerns about unused prepaid services, reflects poorly on a company that charges premium prices. I cannot say enough of great things about this location of BH! My 3 year old daughter absolutely thrived in this school! The teachers are very well trained and educated in their jobs, and give a lot of individual attention to kids. Mine is sometimes a dare-devil, sometimes is defiant and stubborn, sometimes sweet and energetic, and they find the way and approach to deal with all her moods. Yoshanna (preschool lead teacher) is especially good at her job. Not only that she fosters good habits and behaviors in kids, she knows how to channel their (otherwise annoying) personality traits into a productive and useful actions and uses those for a healthy kids development. For example, my kid loves to talk and sort of argue why she should or shouldn't do something, like nap. I find it frustrating that she won't nap, but Yoshanna is very patient and while she still works towards the goal of having my kid to nap, she appreciates my kid's brain working ability to "reason" in her own way. Ally is another wonderful and patient teacher. Kids just gravitate to her. She is young, but very knowledgeable and experienced care giver and very, very good with kids. When my kid has a hard time, Ally comes to the rescue. Other teachers come and go, and there are a lot of shared staff between the groups. But I have learned to trust the directors, because they seem very dedicated and experienced. Betty, Stacy and Jane, these ladies know what they are doing! They are always available for any concerns or advice, or just a chat, and it is very comforting to see that they will stop whatever they are doing to hear you out. It has been very re-assuring support for me as a parent. I highly recommend this school, and I know a lot of parents who feel like this center is a big extended family, myself included!

This program is a joke and scam. Unfortunately I had to give a star in order for me to post…read more Signing on with David Mercure to the medical assistant program there were many unfulfilled promises. Before joining this program I had done my research and emailed the school to find out more information. One important factor I needed information for was if this program would help if I chose to work in pediatrics. Of course the answer was yes. Lie! For the little assignments we completed pediatrics was not covered in any topic. The schedule was set up to be 3 days a week 4 hours each day including the hands on module which followed this schedule except was opposite days of the online portion. The instructor Westley Ellis would take away from our learning time problem dumping his life problems on to us students. Quite a few times class was cancelled because Westley forgot he had to teach class. How do you forget about your job? During each module the assignments and grades were posted, but once the next module started all previous work completed along with proof of grades was deleted. There was no access for this. If you had any problem regarding your assignments or the website Cengage you were to contact Cengage because Westley never had an answer. Everything we needed for a job was supposed to be included. CPR course and either the school's choice for an externship or a medical facility of your own choice. When it came time to take the CPR course I had to pay out of pocket for the course and only one location was available in downtown Boston. Having one location available wasn't very do-able so I had to find my own CPR course. When I had asked Westley about other CPR locations being available he had told me that was the only option. There were many problems with this program and every time I had a question I would ask Westley as he was the instructor for this. He told me to ask David who I had signed on with, and guess what, he told me to talk with Westley. it was a continuous back and forth with both of them with talk to him, no talk to him and never getting an answer. For employees to work at this job for a few decades they really aren't knowledgeable in their career. One of the main problems during this program was that I chose my own externship. My externship offered to take me in earlier than the course end date, so of course I jumped for that opportunity and reached out to Westley and David for their approval of starting my externship early. This was a fight for weeks to be able to get an answer of what I could do. There excuse for me not starting early was that I had missing work and my grades weren't good. I had an A in every part of the program and all of work had been completed. The owner Song Jin had to provide me my own transcript which proved my grades and my finished assignments. When it came time to receive my certificate, it took weeks when I was supposed to receive it "within 30 days of completion" so I was told, but another student was told via text by Westley once they had finished the course they would receive their certificate the next day. 42 days later I was still looking for my certificate. I had to go in person in order to get things rolling and have "papers processed" in order for me to have my certificate. When trying to get my certificate I was then told to talk with Song Jin who seemed to be just as confused and was also not really helpful. Adding on to everything being included, I was told that there was not going to be a state exam. It seemed odd but I went with it, "they knew best." At the very end as I was starting my externship I was informed by another student that a state exam was needed. I had asked Westley where I could go to take the exam, and his words were "google it." He said via text that some jobs would need you to take the exam there at work online. A certificate of COMPLETION is not good enough. A job wants you to be certified before hiring you. 3 months after me completing the program and starting my externship I finally received my certificate after continuously reaching out. Oh and they stopped providing 1098-T for tax documents. They did have them about 7-8 years ago. They go through a TFC bank and when I had asked them for my 1098, they said to call the school and they will have all of the information you need. I would NEVER recommend this school/program. A waste of time and money. If you decide to join just be prepared that you: This school is very unprofessional and needs to be shut down. 1. Need to find your own CPR course. 2. It's best if you choose your own externship site. 3. You will need to take a state exam find a place yourself and pay it out of your own pocket. 4. Don't bother asking any questions to anybody as they don't know. 5. Be prepared to hear more about Westley's life problems than learning. 6. Don't expect going into job you learned what you were supposed to. Start teaching yourself and doing your own research on medical topics.

My experience here has always been positive. The staff here (David and Debbie) are helpful, likable, and kind. I've also never had any issues with the computers and connectivity here while taking my exams (unlike my experience at the Pearson Back Bay location where the connection occasionally got laggy and scared me to death when a couple system error message popped up in the middle of my exam!) The only downside about this test center is that there's only a single bathroom available for each gender in the building that is shared with other tenants. This might be an issue if you're taking a timed exam but i've personally never had an issue with this since i never had to use the bathroom in the middle of an exam. Good luck on your exams!

During the 2 tours she gave, she loudly proclaimed the silent area was no talking, completely disrupting the students that were there at the time. She simply loves learning and while in traditional private schools was bored and increasingly anxious about social interaction and group work. She's been at Fusion for two years. She works 1:1 with various teachers depending on the subject and while officially in 7th again this year (we decided to have her repeat as we are worried about her being closer in age to her peers when she graduates) she was able to take HS college prep biology last year, HS zoology and psychology this year in addition to her more typical classes (English, algebra 1, French 2, and medieval history) The teachers are wonderful with her. They have a collaborative style and really keep her focused, engaged, and enthusiastic. I receive academic summaries from each teacher everyday letting me know what they covered and how she did. Looking forward to her taking science in person at the Newton campus next year so she can do the labs in person rather than virtually.
