    Salter School - Massage Therapy

    Salter School

The internship they placed me in was horrible…read more I was verbally abused by a doctor who constantly yelled at me until he requested a new intern, thank god. He was always swearing and screaming. After that I was placed with a doctor who sexually harassed me at the end of my internship. It took me 9 months after graduating to get a job, still with no certification to even prove I did complete the program. On my job hunt, I encountered a five guys manager who went to the same school and never got a job in the field. Some of the salter schools were sued and shut down because this place is pretty much a scam. I don't know how this place is still open. DO NOT GO HERE.

(Which I was later informed, you could if u paid downstairs) beyond that fact the massage rooms were cold.. I had chills all over for the whole hour and not once did she offer to turn on the heating blanket. I ALSO spoke to a person earlier saying I like deep massages in my back only so I'm not sure if I should do a deep tissue or Swedish. They insisted deep. Due to that a hole was burned into both my arms and thighs. She would've noticed me trying to jump away from her fingers or tensing up if she wasn't talking EVERY SECOND IN THE ROOM. I truthfully know everything about this person. She honestly sounded nice but I should NOT be hearing about deaths and Aweful things about her life while I'm trying to RELAX. I barely spoke back and somehow the conversation just never stopped. I also verbally stated and physically wrote on my request sheet the MY BACK was my major concern and priority. She stated she wanted to save my back for last since I wanted it so bad. 45 minutes breaking my arms and legs and a little pressure on my back for 10 minutes. It was aweful. I could she was trying to avoid showing me I still had knots by lightly sliding up my back at the end when in reality I left in pain and more sore then ever. And if that wasn't enough... At the end of the session where you fill out the review of how they did it wasn't even in privacy. The secretary went home so it was our own personal massage person breathing in our ears watching us fill it out. Obviously I'm not going to write what I truly felt right to her face. It was just the worse experience. I left more stressed, shocked and in pain. I can truthfully say me and my friend HATED EVERY PART. And you can tell others feeling the same since they threw brothers in our face begging to get people to come. Thanks but no thanks. Never again.

I was a little nervous after reading some of the negative reviews on here, but every part of the process went smoothly for me. The receptionists that I spoke to were all friendly and helpful. The stylist, Gina, was very professional and made sure to understand what I wanted before starting. I think she did a great job. I saw a couple of teachers going around and helping other students who had questions about their clients. The school salon was clean, but no frills, as I expected. For the price, I don't think you can do any better. I'd also note that I made an appointment in advance for a time early on a weekday. From the other reviews on here, it seems like weekends and walk-ins might be much more difficult.

They dislike natural hair and anyone who does it.They bully quiet students and possibly discriminate on people receiving financial aid after they advertised tablets to get people to apply.I had family member come to the location with long natural hair they lied and told her i wasnt there when i had a cellphone and she could call me.I watched them turn away black girls requesting removal services and wash and blowdrys if the hair was too coarse or long these in which are services they can make money from after graduation. But the hocus pocus sisters and the bullyass cv blowout whorebags dont like or offer or know how to even do those services they would turn people away when there were students who could have used the practice for uncharges after schools completed .They ruined my dreams. They are evil here, if your quiet and talented they get a jealous spirit.they will get rid of you and leave you in debt.....Im not done with these people yet though.

Lifeguards are present and they test the pool quality every hour or so. The kiddie area is blocked off so perfect for families who want to dunk their kids and not to be disturbed by other swimmers. Don't want to swim? There is a splash pad when you leave the pool area. There is also a playground with picnic tables within 2 min walk. I saw four swings for babies/toddlers and swings for older kids are behind the slides. Street parking.

The female lifeguards were rude in general to the public. They kept staring at us and pointing at us, which made us extremely uncomfortable. The pool checks were also poorly communicated, and nobody clearly explained what the actual purpose of them was. The head lifeguard was just as rude and unprofessional. What made the experience even worse was that after we left because we were uncomfortable, we were literally stopped and pulled aside by the staff and accused of lying about having a child with us just to get into the pool. We did NOT lie. We have been at the pool. We had our belongings inside and everything was already set up. Two of us left because a lifeguard told a mother in the water near us that she could not be in the pool with the floaties she had. Since it was extremely hot out and we wanted her child to actually be able to enjoy the pool, we went all the way back home to grab a life jacket we had so mind you the third person with us was still there at the pool with all our stuff waiting for us to return with said life jacket for the baby. We were rushing back specifically so she could get back in and enjoy the pool. So to then be stopped, accused of lying and treated like we were doing something wrong was completely ridiculous. We only needed about an hour at the pool, and somehow that short visit turned into an uncomfortable and frustrating experience. The staff's attitude, the staring, pointing, lack of communication and then accusing us of lying was enough to make it very clear that we will not be returning. It is honestly a shame because this place has so much potential and could be something really great for the community if it were run by people who actually knew how to treat families with basic respect and kindness. One visit was more than enough.
