I wish the city would put it somewhere else so parking downtown wouldn't be impossible during the markets operating hours.

This amazing little Cheese Factory located in Madoc, Ontario is just a short drive from Campbellford, Marmara and Warkworth but if you're a cheese lover like me, it's not too far from anywhere. I drove all the way from Brampton, actually I was close by staying in Marmora (see my other review) but still this place was on my list of things to see. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, their selection is amazing and the cheese curds??? Ohhh lets just say they didn't make it back home to Brampton. They store is reminiscent of a time gone by, it has a very rustic feel like an old country store, I loved it. They even have ice cream and fresh hot dogs to go and I don't mean those chincy little dogs, I mean these are bigger than the buns, yes I got me one of those as well. This is not a store you want to rush in and out of. Go on in, take your time and have look around, they have all sorts of treats and neat things. You must try their dip, if you don't see it up front by the cash ask for it, you won't regret it. So if you're in the Peterborough area or around Hastings County, make sure to make your way over to visit this amazing cheese factory.

This is a great little market located in the town of Wellington in Prince Edward Count (PEC). There are two major highlights that put this market into a league of it's own. 1- There is a French Canadian lady selling home made pies. OMG this was amoung the best pies I've ever had. We went for a berry pie. It was loaded, I mean loaded, with a thick layer of filling made from fresh local berries. YOu could see whole berries right there before your eyes. The crust was to die for and it was just all around awesome. 2- And this was the real highlight! The community had come together to sponsor a refugee family from Syria to settle in PEC. The family started a food service business. They make hummus and other middle eastern spreads as well as pitas and chips. At the market they offer a falafel plate. OMG these are hands down the best falafels that I've ever had. Light, crispy, flavourful, so amazing!! These are not in anyway comparable to the falafels that you might have eaten elsewhere. The taste and texture are so much better. Honestly I'd go back to PEC just for the falafels and so should you.... I'd also buy 8 pies while I was there ;-)

I have had their wine before but especially loved their new Aurelia line. What a great place to spend a sunny fall afternoon! With all of the trees ready for the picking,…read moreyou can pre-pay either a 10lb or 20lb bag and head out into the trees to start picking. Additionally, a corn maze onsite will entertain kids and adults with puzzles and clues. My favourite part is probably the general store; there are all kinds of delicious things for sale, including maple syrup, tea, coffee, hot apple cider and most importantly candy/caramel apples. The pumpkins were harvested and you can have your pick from the massive display outside. Also, a great photo op (there are tons, all over the place there). Open year round so even if you miss the picking, you can stop in and check out what's in season and for sale.

Not easy anyway. Honestly, I should've kept more friends from grade school. Anyway, on the trip down to visit them I realized I should get some flowers. I actually tried another florist that was in Belleville, but they had closed for the day. In fact, I'm not sure if they're even open for the day. Think I sent their updated hours to Yelp. Yelp also showed me this shop, which was not far away and still open. I came in and the florist and cashier were very helpful and very friendly and set me up with a beautiful bouquet. I stroll around and took a look, they had a lot of very nice things there, tchotchkes and christmas things. Got myself a fancy bar of soap, in case the one in the hotel was bad. It wasn't but I just brought it home now. I'm gonna use it when it's turn comes up. It's a nice shop, in spite of what could possibly be a awkward name; it sounds like something you'd find in a neons sign on the wall of your friend who has an "I t's wine o'clock" T-shirt. But it's good, friendly, and the price of the flowers didn't feel like they were taking me for a ride. I'll probably come by here again the next time I'm going back to Napanee.
