Ugh I'm kind of obsessed with this place!! I can't stop coming back because of just how fun and creative you get to be! Basically, adults pay $8 for a studio fee, then you get to sit there as long as you'd like and paint your ceramic. They have a whole wall to choose from with an abundance of different designs, and your final price is based on which piece that you chose. My heart shaped mini pot was $22. In the three times I've been here, the designs have switched out often, so there's always something new to paint. The color chart is also super helpful and you can use an unlimited amount of colors (not that you need that many to complete a ceramic anyways). After you're finished with your design, you wait 2-3 weeks while they glaze and fire it. Then, it's all set and you get to use it forever!! The staff was friendly and accommodating while also just letting us work on our projects without disruption. The prices were as expected ($20-35/piece + a studio fee) with an amazing variety of cool unique pieces. You walk through the rug tufting portion of the store on the way in and it's amazing to see how the tufting process in action and how creative people are! They have tufting, charms, etc, but we opted to paint ceramics and were not disappointed with the experience. They had every color, brush, stamp, stencil, etc we could want. Really fun experience! They let you stay however long you need, but it gets pretty busy so I would make a reservation ahead of time. We did the smallest size and it came out to be $76. They give you everything you need, such as a projector to trace the design out, and endless selection of yarn. They let me practice a lot and even have an option for shipping. My daughter found this place while we were in Chicago on spring break. We reserved online easily. We took the orange line there. The walk was about 5 minutes from the Ashland stop. The place was very busy but we were helped right away. The staff helped us transfer our image to the canvas for the rug. Then thought us the gun technique. We picked colors and started our projects. It was hard at first , but in no time we had the hang of it. They checked on us throughout but not in a micromanaged sort of way. At the end of our 2 hours we had completed the rugs. Found this cute and cosy paint your own pottery in Bridgeport. They have a variety of plain ceramics to choose from, prices range between $10-$30is just add color and creativity. If you want to try something cool, and are fine with zero guidance and no management system of finished products then take your chance here. Luckily I went with someone who had tufted before and they were able to help guide me with image selection and feedback while working. The staff shows you how to use the gun and then offer nothing beyond. They have an abysmal pickup system. When leaving I asked what the pickup procedure was and they said to come in 4-5 days and show a picture of your rug. I asked if they call when it's ready and they said no. I came back 8 days later to pick up my rug and they couldn't find it and basically shooed me out the door and said to come back a different day. I then asked for it to be shipped since I drove into the city on my day off and didn't want to come back in when they can't even provide me confirmation that my rug is done. They charged me $15 for shipping. Unsurprisingly, a person came in after me to pick up two ceramics pieces and they could only find one. That person was told to come back. When they asked when they were told MAYBE it's in the kiln and "maybe Wednesday". Complete disorganization. read more
