I love this place so so much!! The employees are so sweet and helpful. I think my only complaint is how cramped it is. Other than that, we had a great time!! Their selection of pottery is so large and we took a very long time to pick. They have so many fun tools to use. It only took a week for our creations to be done which was amazing!! They gave me bubble wrap and a box to carry it. Very secure! It's also BYOB which is so cute. I want to go back for a girl's day. Such a good date idea!! :)

Such an innovative concept! We went here for the first time. It's essentially painting of your chosen pots and then you pick it up a week later once the colours are fully set. Each model/pot you pick has a different price. And then there's a standard painting price I believe. It is also BYOB! Which is awesome. A really nice way to wind down or do a fun activity with your friends!

I'm going to preface this by saying I'm not an artist. Some might say I have 0 artistic talent. Even so, I had a blast. There's something therapeutic about painting little critters. Pair that with a bottle of wine and you've got an absolutely amazing date night. It's a pretty cheap date and you will certainly impress.

I highly recommend Glazed expressions for any pottery painting needs! Each time I go, Keith the owner, is quick to help and give advice on the right brush or technique to use to create my intended design. He's a direct person, not harsh, and genuinely cares for his craft. They are often busy so I recommend scheduling in advance, especially for larger groups!

I've been a loyal customer of Glazed Expressions for two years, and it consistently deserves 5 stars! The staff is friendly, funny, and always ready to assist. The value you get here is fantastic, and it's the perfect spot to enjoy with friends. What's truly remarkable is that people of all ages, even those who aren't artists, absolutely adore this place. They are busy so I always recommend making a reservation! Also in light of reading some other reviews I wanted to say that Keith (the owner) is a character - I find his humor is dry, cynical and sometimes a little sharp but at no point is he intending to be unkind or condescending. He is a big part of what makes this place so special. If in doubt clap back a little he will laugh with you, beneath a slightly rough exterior he is incredibly kind and thoughtful. Don't let this be the reason you don't come!

Had so much fun here with two of my friends! You pick the piece you want and the bottom of the piece tells you the price. Make sure you make a reservation if you can. They also require that you pick up within a month of the day you come. There's tons of colors and brushes and stencils and markers and other stuff I probably didn't even notice. They give you as much time as you need and don't rush you when you're painting, however please make sure to look at their hours and rules. I would definitely come back and look forward to bringing my boyfriend and other friends!

I LOVE GLAZED EXPRESSIONS! There are so many base and paint options to choose from for incredibly reasonable prices. The owner speaks in a harder tone- but in a very dry-sarcasm, unserious way. It feels like a small town shop (but in the city.)

This was like therapy. Like going to a friend's house to chill out, get creative, listen to music, and talk. The owner (Keith) has such a laid back and fun personality and provides such a pleasant atmosphere, along with Hayley the dog who was so super sweet! Since it was our first time, my friend and I each chose a simple jar to paint and it took us a bit over two hours to decide on colors and finish painting. The time flew by as we painted and talked, and took advice from Keith whenever needed (I even really enjoyed the music that was playing- just a variety of classic hits). It's such a unique place to bring friends, and Keith has a great sense of humor, too. I'm excited to go back!!!

Overall: Given that it's one of the few in the area, Glazed Expressions is a great spot for an afternoon of pottery painting. The good: Very friendly staff who were helpful with the entire process, from pricing to tips. They have a lot of options to choose from for painting, whether it's a simple bowl or dish to cartoon molds and Cubs decorations. They also have a lot of colors to choose from and are well stocked, so it's rare to not have what you need. Great music, and BYOB! The not-so-good: No water cups for your brushes, and they also didn't have paint writers for detailing. Aside from that, it was a tad expensive. Had to come in multiple times to find what we wanted to paint. Service: 9/10 Atmosphere: 8/10

They are so rude here. They dont want anyone coming in. They want an empty studio where they dont have to do much work.

When we entered the store, the staff greeted us and checked our tickets. We were booked for 10 AM on a Sunday and were the only ones in our group. Inside the play area, there are five stations for five of the pups, plus the "lookout" area. Marshall does not have a station, just as an FYI. Rocky's station was partially broken when we visited, but ultimately my son still had a good time. There were 3 slides, a magnatile/block area, a recycling game where you toss recycling into different baskets, an obstacle course, and a go-kart area. Most areas skewed a bit young - more like 3-5. The go-karts were a huge hit with my 5 year old, though I imagine this would be a hard activity if you went at a busy time. The whole thing was just an open play session. You can get stamps for completing each of the "missions" (really just playing at the different stations), but largely your kid can be left to their own devices. Staff were mostly nice. Some were a bit aggressively trying to joke with my son and couldn't quite pickup that he was NOT into it. I had to just escort him away. For the most part, however, everyone was very helpful and welcoming. The toy store itself offers a decent selection of toys, and they have lots of things out to play with. There is also an area to create your own slime and various crafts you can do as well (for an extra charge). The Paw Patrol area is $35 per ticket (adults must purchase a ticket as well) plus a $7 fee when purchasing online. This felt a little steep for a one hour open play session, but my kid had a great time. I'd say for a special outing it was worth it, but I don't know that it offers enough to warrant repeated visits.

The studio is a bit small but and enough space for you to roam about and do your thing. The first step was to handle the clay then they thought us how to handle the wheel and then we got to choose if we wanted a vase, a cup or a bowl. We were in a small group of 6 due to which the teachers could explain and help us well. We ended up upgrading our class to include paint as well as we got to know that without the paint we won't be able to use the things we made of it involves water. My friend made a cute cup and I made a not so cute vase. I would definitely say that but the end of the class, we were rushing a bit and would have appreciated some help and tips from the teachers but we didn't get any. We had to constantly ask about things and where the brushes were and where the paints were. Since it was our first ever class, we would have appreciated a bit more help from the teachers in managing our time and helpful tips on how to glaze correctly instead of having to ask everything ourselves when we are already rushing. Regardless, we had a lot of fun and can't wait to pick up our pieces soon!

I'd been to the ones on Southport and on Wells but it was interesting to see the difference in merchandise here. It makes sense--this location seemed to have more office-type merchandise, and for a location in the Loop what better place to sell office supplies? Heck, I even had to stop myself from buying some of the cute office stuff they have here, and I only work two days per week in the office and still don't have my office space fully set up at home. If you need a last-minute card, even if it's beyond the standard congratulations or birthday, this is a great place to stop. And it's directly across the street from the Clark postal station, so may as well get it in the mail immediately before you forget! They had several board games. I'm a board gamer but usually don't play the ones that get mass market attention, and I saw some more niche ones like Steam Up which was truly surprising. I'm not sure who's coming here to buy them but I am totally in favor of stores supporting small publishers. I also saw journals, notepads, coffee cups, and so on. There's no parking here given its location in the loop. Train, bus, and/or foot will be your options.
