Here's the deal about freight... Very cool venue and has potential- however the outdoor sit and talk with friends vibe gets destroyed by the music they play. They have random bass boosted songs BLARING the full night, to the point where you feel like you are at a rave. Freight needs to do a better job of learning what their clientele wants: chill local live bands playing good background music you can sit around and listen too while hanging out- if we wanted to hear loud DJs we wouldn't be going to freight in the first place. read more

This place is awesome! It just opened a few months ago and I was so excited to finally get to stop by and check it out. It is an outside beer garden, but it does have a indoor section for cold or rainy days. Here's the alcohol situation... They have 20 beers on tap and many more in cans and bottles. They have 3 frozen signature cocktails and fully stocked liquor. If you like bourbon try the green and gold. It was really tasty. I also tried my first PB &T shot. I don't know what's in it, but if you like peanut butter it's a must try. They also have great drink specials. Here's the food situation.... They have 2 food trucks. One serves gourmet hot dogs and the other serves Poke bowls. They also have a deal set up with Fuego. You can order anything off the menu from Fuego at the Freight bar and it will be delivered to you. You don't have to go wait in the crazy long line. Your food comes to you. That is genius. Great location, great drink menu... I didn't try the food this visit but will be back to try it. The atmosphere is very casual, it's basically a big backyard with a bar & stage... BUT COOL! It's actually a really great set up. The band we saw was a tribute band from a time that was for older folks (and we are old soooooo) so I didn't love the music BUT the comfortable seating, cool night air, lights hanging from the trees... friendly staff & patrons made it a great night. The atmosphere alone makes it enjoyable... get a great band, a glass of their craft beer and some appetizers with good friends... could be a perfect night out... I will be back! read more

Freight is the place you want to go when you want a backyard hang out feel. Great draft and canned beer selection. Frozen drinks are also tasty, not watered down! Try the peanut butter shot, don't question it! Great atmosphere, lots of picnic tables, there is also a dog park for the doggos. I've always seen cornhole and other lawn games. As soon a we sound down realized the table hat someone's throw up all over it and it was on my white shirt from sitting down there, so had to buy a shirt and brought to to their attention and the bartender had an attitude about it being brought to his attention. I'm a small business owner and I support every chance I get. I wouldn't recommend visiting this place even if it was your last resort. We traveled up to Waco today, and were looking for a couple local places to try out. Place looked pretty nice from the outside. We arrived at the bar today, and got ignored for 15-20 minutes just standing there. The place was empty with the exception of a small group that were all there together. One of them in the group was also a manager or owner. He walked past us several times going to the back and didn't even give a courtesy of stating someone will be with you in a minute. They were busy tending to the group of 10 friends and regulars. The two bartenders didn't even take a second to recognize us. They made certain to serve every group of the party that kept walking up to the bar while we stood at the bar. I wish it was possible to give this place 0 stars.
