Our hamburger and fries were great on point for what you would expect i I love it that you can turn in your credit card and get a tab going and then at all the different bar locations around the venue. We have enjoyed many concerts here, and have noticed much improvement, especially with seating, since new owners bought the property. However, the ladies restroom outside needs mirrors, as well as hooks on all the stall doors, most likely women are carrying a purse and don't want to sit it on the dirty floor. Also, there were gnats in one of my husbands drinks, I think it was in the ice cubes. I did return it and the waitress kindly made a new drink, gnat free. read more

Meh this place was pretty mid food wise. We went today (memorial day) for lunch. We put a phone number in to get our order and didn't get a text, ended up going to check and it was sitting at the pick up. We paid extra for sides of ranch and buffalo and those didn't come with the order, had to go back to get them. My pesto chicken sandwich had little to no pesto and was a very dry sandwich overall. They were out of tomatoes and chips. Probably have a great outdoor set up at night for concerts but wouldn't come here just for food! read more

Ordered a large salad with Ranch dressing. The dressing was not homemade but prepackaged. (Never been to a bar and grill who had pre-packaged dressing and they had more than 10 different appetizers on the menu that one would eat with Ranch dressing). I opened to taste but it truly was disgusting. I asked for another type of dressing but the idiot who brought our food said she couldn't take it back because I opened it. She wasn't going to bring me any other flavor and if she was it was only going to be one package as I had opened the other and she wasn't replacing it. Definitely won't be going back. read more

Whole of Waco said to go there to watch the Superbowl. Ambiance was good. Service was OK. But they ran out of food before half time.???? They have concerts at this establishment. Apparently they don't treat sports events in the same category. How can you run out of food during a major event. I offered to go to HEB to shop for them. They declined. Checked this place out because it was one of the few places open past midnight in Waco . The bartender who I wish I caught her name was great . Her drinks were so good and her service was excellent she was very attentive. My family has been to the Backyard on multiple occasions (all have been concerts), and I am glad to say I am finally done with this establishment. The service is usually mediocre, but it's repeatedly been very disappointing recently. Takes FOREVER to get food. Bouncers have always been arrogant and self righteous, but seems to be getting worse. It is absolutely ridiculous that my minor daughter has to pay extra on top of her ticket to come in... I'm sure it's because minors won't be purchasing alcohol, but still. The minors pay these people's bills for all of the young country concerts. On top of that, the way minors are treated at this establishment is HORRIBLE. The acoustics are also terrible, making it difficult to understand the artist when they're speaking. I have given this place chance after chance, and I am finally done trying. In the future, I will be traveling further to other venues to watch the artists I want to see. AND they won't charge extra for my daughter to come with! read more

They advertise as dog friendly, however do not offer wait service or allow you to order at the bar with your dog. Never been somewhere that promotes dog friendly and then discriminates against a certain class of dog owner. If you're single and own a dog I would not recommend this place. Staff is rude and apparently upset they have to work or hate their jobs. Sad they have to act this way when the service industry is 100% about customer service. This place is absolutely trashy. We walked in, my friend ordered drinks and I went to the bathroom. All I did was meet with them at a table, talk privately, and sip on my drink when a bouncer comes up and says us three have to leave. We didnt do a thing or at least I didn't. Visited the Silos with friends but realized quickly none of the vendors sold alcohol, so we made our way to Backyard Bar a couple blocks away for a drink and to cool off inside. Winner! This place will forever hold a soft spot for me, because I discovered alcoholic slushees!! They have a couple machines with different flavors (vodka-based blue raspberry, watermelon and margaritas). We ended up in here for almost two hours (whoops!) drinking and eating yummy bar food. Great reprieve if you're in the area and need a Magnolia-break! read more

I hate to give a bad review but this is not the place you want to go for a good meal. It's pretty obvious no one is going for the FOOD! This is more of a neighborhood bar. It may be a great place to go drinking, but we went for a meal because of the reviews. Not surprising, there were only two others there. Grilled Catfish with Fries were good but preferred the Fried prepared style Fish Tacos were not as good as before, soggy and slaw seemed to be not as fresh Basket of Tater Tots were generous and delicious. This should be a 3.5 because I really liked the people working here and loved the overall venue! Excellent and friendly service too ! While I loved listening to Colby Acuff and his band , who were amazing, it was pretty damn hot outside with not a lot of air flowing. Entry prices for the shows not that bad at $15. They do charge under 21 a premium of $25 to get in. I can not rate this higher because of the overall food taste and quality. The BBQ was not good at all. The french fries here are terrible. The fried fish was average I guess, the nachos were above avg with chicken on them. The burgers way overcooked and a major fail. Drink prices not horrible as we drank a bunch and with 20% tip came out to about $135 for our group. We will never eat here again, but will definitely be back for the shows they put on!! read more

This was a very cool spot. A great place to watch the game. They did however have the volume way too loud. We were not the only ones complaining about how loud it was. The food was terrible. Okay ya'll this place is FUN! We came to Waco for my fiancé's birthday weekend and did a bit of wandering around when we came to this spot. Their backstage space was massive and I can only imagine what shows look like! Loved the decor, right up our alley HOWEVER, bartender picked his nose and grabbed the fruit for our mixed drinks right in front of us. We were In for the weekend and we were looking for an afternoon snack between breakfast and a late dinner. We smelled the bbq from a block away and wandered in. The vibe was great for a Saturday afternoon. All seating is outside, which was fine as there were many large fans blowing and most many of the table (ours included) was under cover. Stoney LaRue and his band were doing the warmup and sound check for the evening show (they have artists on Friday and Saturday nights) so that was a nice bonus! We had the fried dill pickle spears which were good. We also share a large order of 'The Shed' which was a plate of waffle fries, nacho sauce, cheddar cheese, pico se Gallo and pulled pork. We put some bbq sauce on it as well. It was very tasty! Is the food high brow cuisine? Nope - but it's not intended to be. The servers were all very friendly and quick to take our order. Service after that dropped markedly (just very slow) but overall I'd definitely come back on a Saturday afternoon or for one of the live bands (have to purchase tickets in advance - tonight's show was sold out). read more
