Fremont Fence did a good job for a decent price. The company sent out an estimator who was very detail-oriented, and broke down exactly how much each part of my fence replacement would cost, and how long the crew would take to do the work. They were also prompt in sending the estimator out again, when I wanted to make a change to the job; I had forgotten to include the decaying 9ft fence in the back in my original request. When the crew arrived, they sure worked fast! The old "fence" in front (a terrible DIY fence from a prior owner), and the fence in back, were removed and replaced within 4 hours. They did a good job on building a gate for me, and it has a nice big lockable latch on it. The crew did a good job keeping my house clean as they worked, and they cleaned up well afterward. I definitely have confidence in the fence lasting a while. The only thing I can really ding them on is communication. I originally had a Tuesday appointment, but because of the rain on Monday, they were running behind on a job. They had to cancel on Tuesday and move the job to Wednesday. This is understandable, but no one called me to let me know. I waited at home for several hours for no reason. To their credit, they did call to let me know when the job had to be rescheduled again (to Thursday). The crew didn't knock on the door or let me know when they arrived. They just went to work, which is commendable, but what if I had dogs or kids in the back yard? A quick knock on the door or ringing of the doorbell would have been appreciated. Overall, would recommend Fremont Fence. Their bid was not the lowest, but they do good work. read more

First the estimator shows up at my door on the wrong day, which was never scheduled. I told him that the appointment was the next day. Then, I wait for him the next day for a solid 2 hours only to have him not show up at all. I called the company and they didn't even have the estimate scheduled. They could have cared less about the inconvenience to me. What a total screw-up and a waste of my valuable time! Fremont Fence installed our fence 15+ years ago. We decided to replace a different old, rotted fence along our side yard. The fact that the fence they built 15 years ago is going strong made me call them for an estimate. Matthew was very prompt, polite and had some good ideas. Very unhappy with Fremont Fence, we have had them do our fences for 44 yrs. the last time was inferior work as the cement was not done right and fence is leaning. matt came out and said it would cost 400.00 for 1 post and new cement. Fremont fence just replaced 200' of fence for $5372 ( very reasonable). They used redwood, not cedar or pressure treated pine. They used true 2x4's for top and bottom, not L or U shaped. They used 2 x 8's for the kick board, not 1 x 8 like others do. They used a full bag of fence post cement mix for each post. Took 2 men 2 days for 200'. I couldn't believe it. The key is 15 years experience and a good nail gun. I went with the board on board style, and they give you an inch and a half overlap plus 1 x 1's top, bottom, and side to keep everything in place. Late last year winds damaged part of my fence. Contacted the favored Fremont fence and Newark fence. They both sent out estimators and the quoted price was identical. Newark estimator spent more time showing all the issues with our fence and recommended that I replace the whole fence instead of just the broken part. Fremont folks were like - this is what you want, here you go. Chose to go with Fremont fence because I wasn't sure about Newark's recommendation (i.e. were they upselling). Fremont was good with email communication - fast responses, but see below. Scheduled a time but nobody showed up. I called to find out what was going on. I was told that the repair person was sent to jury duty, but I wasn't told about this. Since I had to go the hospital, I asked them to come after 1 PM, but Rudy & his asst showed up at 11! So, didn't like the part about poor communication and change of schedule. This is not good at all. Cannot complain about their work. Rudy did a thorough job of replacing the fence pieces and it looks well done. Recommend that they improve their communication to keep the customers informed of changes. read more

Fremont Fence has had 3 jobs at my home throughout the years, has always been professional and done qualify work. Based on that, I contacted them again recently for a gate/fence job. I was shocked when I called and was told the price would be $22,000. The person who answered the phone pulled my old file and updated pricing on a prior quote without verifying the request. I asked that Matthew come out and walk the actual job and price it again. This quote came in at $1750 so I accepted the quote, then was told I'd have to wait 6 weeks for the first available time. Then came the signature required on their work order. They mailed it, we signed and mailed it back 4 weeks before the job date. The day before they were to be here I get an email saying they needed a signature. I responded with "you have it". Next morning, no show on time. I call at 10:15 and was told "he's in route". 12:45 I call again. This time I'm told "we tried calling you but your phone is disconnected." It doesn't stop here.....so incredibly unprofessional, right down to their installer relieving himself in my backyard in full view of our cameras! The job is complete and looks well made. read more

I called again. Still nothing.
