Looked clean but the tools weren't coming out of a sterile bag or new area, concerned tools were not sterilized in between. For these reasons I canceled the pedi I had schedule for the next day. Can only do this by phone and the salon has no voicemail set up. Person I spoke with later didn't seem to understand what I was saying despite several tries. We called ahead and booked our appointments together specifically so we could sit next to each other. I was running only 3-5 minutes behind and even called to let them know. When we arrived, there was confusion about our appointments--they thought I had booked a pedicure instead of a manicure--which was honestly no big deal. What was frustrating was that they then seemed annoyed when we asked if we could sit together, even though that was the entire reason we booked together. From there, the experience just got progressively worse. The staff acted as though we were inconveniencing them simply by being customers. Normal questions about polish colors or requests for minor adjustments were met with obvious irritation, eye rolls, and rude, condescending attitudes. At several points, the technicians would speak to each other in another language, laugh, and look directly at us. Whatever was being said, the behavior itself made us feel incredibly uncomfortable and unwelcome. The actual nail quality was also terrible. The color selection was extremely limited and disorganized, and at one point my sister was painted with the wrong color because the wrong cap had been placed on the bottle. Her nails had to be redone, and somehow they acted irritated with her over it. The shape and polish application on both of our nails were some of the worst we have ever had, and mine were already lifting within about 10 hours. The salon was also extremely hot and uncomfortable, and during our appointment there was another customer behind us arguing about the quality of her pedicure--which unfortunately seemed consistent with our experience. The final interaction really sealed it for us. At checkout, there was a random $15 line item on the screen, and my sister simply asked what the charge was. She wasn't refusing to pay or even disputing the total--she literally just wanted to know what the line item meant. The technician stood up, raised her voice, and began speaking to her incredibly condescendingly, essentially explaining that the total was still $60 as though my sister couldn't do basic math. We were both stunned. We weren't questioning the math; we were asking what we were being charged for. Between the rude treatment, uncomfortable atmosphere, disorganization, and genuinely awful quality of the nails, this was a complete fail for both of us. We left feeling like the staff resented us for simply being there and asking completely normal questions as paying customers. Neither of us would ever return or recommend this salon.

Service: Haircut/Color After having a bad experience at…read moreanother salon my mother talked to a friend. Coren. Coren works at Elle & Company. My mother shared some pictures with Coren. What I wanted, what happen the first time with my hair and then how my hair looked currently. Coren told my mother to have me reach out to her and she could do my hair, "No Problem". I reached out to Coren. Again, I sent her pictures of what my hair looked like and what I wanted. (Very same thing I tried doing with my hair at the 1st salon.) Coren told me, "NO worries, I have the Right colors for u!!" My appointment was January 18th. Coren was asking me what they did with my hair the 1st time. I told her everything.. she goes on to tell me all the things that the last Salon did wrong and she knows what to do to get me what I wanted. Anyways ..ANOTHER $300 down the drain!! My hair was WAYY too dark. Not even close to what I wanted at all! She told me how the dark "brought my eyes out" and blah blah blah. The very next morning, I got my hair done pretty late the night before, I reached out to her about how unsatisfied I was with how dark my hair was. She told me for 2weeks straight to just keep washing it. I was upset. I told my mother about what happened. She was very disappointed considering Coren told both of us she could do exactly what I wanted no problem! Just a couple days ago, Coren sent me a text saying that if I still didn't like my hair (duh!) I could come in and she would do some more foils and fix my roots because my hair was and is crap. I made another appointment. The day of my appointment my mother tells me that Coren planned on charging me again!? I reached out to her and asked about this and told her I can't pay again.. Coren said, "ok have a nice night." That's it!? :( I was very polite and respectful this entire time! From the very first day, I voiced my unhappiness with her work!! Never was rude. I'm not even that type of person. I'm really upset that she took advantage of me!! I have proof all the things I spoke about in text messages on my phone. She totally lied to me. She said one thing in the beginning and then, at the end, said something else which totally contradicts everything she told me. One more thing.. I told her she could cut off 3-4in. And then instead of asking me how I wanted it cut (like style wise)she told me she was going to do one layer. Like wtf.. I thought I tell them what I want!? She just did what she wanted! Never asked.
