I had a good experience at Frenchies. I enjoyed the calm atmosphere and friendly service however my gel manicure started to come off and crack within a week of my manicure. I understand that the service was completed by hand which takes more time hence the higher price but a under a week for my manicure isn't ideal for the price. My toes have held up nicely though. read more

I was in the area and needed a pedicure while on a trip. I was hoping to get a Saturday appointment for me and another person but they were booked up by Wednesday for the upcoming Saturday. Definitely schedule ahead but the online scheduling is fabulous! This place is lovely. Great vibe and incredibly clean. Lots of polish options (no OPI due to the chemicals). My tech provided a wonderful service and I was given 25% off as a first time customer. It's not cheap, but I was there for 90 mins and the tech really scrubbed off a lot of dead skin! I've recommended it to folks in the area and would be happy to stop in again. The only negative is that it's pricey, especially for not having the massaging chairs, paraffin dip, hot rock massage, and the scrub being an add on. read more

With my Daughter's recommendation, my wife and I came here for pedicures. We happened to be babysitting our two grandsons as well, so it would make anyone wonder why we chose this day. First of all; the place is clean and crisp. The decor is somewhat minimalistic, and that made for a pleasant or welcoming atmosphere. The staff was so friendly, they even seemed to enjoy the visit with our Grandsons. Susan greeted us, and came across both friendly and professional. Leah did both pedicures, back to back, and didn't skip any luxuries. We even met the manager, Vicki. She's wonderful. Mind you; not the typical manager. She was working along side the staff as one of them. That's a true leader. It's safe to say, we both loved Frenchies, and everyone there. I wanted to love this place from the moment I was told that they do not cater to college students who are looking for a 30 minute mani/pedi for under $50. The problem is that while my pedi was fabulous and has lasted a very long time, I have been in three times to get my manicure right. Twice my gel manicure started peeling within two days of being done. Kudos, however, are in order to this business for being responsive, accommodating my schedule, and finally actually fixing the issue by using a stronger top coat and three layers of polish! This salon just wasn't for me. A manicure and pedicure was taking over 3 hours. They say they value relaxation over hurrying, but there is nothing relaxing about being trapped this long for services that could be done in half the time elsewhere. The salon is very clean and bright and a big upgrade over most nail salons. However, the technician that I had several times in a row confided way too much about her personal life and the straw that broke the camel's back was her telling me that she had been up all night with her young son who had the flu. She went into great detail about his symptoms and I was just extremely uncomfortable. I didn't like the upselling of products. There's just sort of a weird vibe that they are trying to be friendly and chill but it's also somewhat forced. read more

Extra plus for offering me a warm lavender neck wrap and a mug of hot tea while I got my pedicure However, my nail technician, as sweet as she was, did not do a thorough job of my cuticles and cleaning up my toes. I had to go home and work on them some more before I was satisfied. Also, I got the Signature Pedicure (second level service) but the massage of my feet and calves was very brief. I've been coming to the Frenchies in Athens a little over a year now. This is one of the few places I'm not afraid of going to since the COVID pandemic broke out, as the studio and staff truly are so clean. Everyone there is really nice and professional, adding to calm, spa like atmosphere. I think every time I have been there, there's a candle burning, and like other reviewers said, it smells amazing! While they don't deal in the acrylic and other fake nails, the manicures and pedicures have probably been the best and most meticulous I've ever had. I usually get some nail art while I'm there. Megan is so talented, so I try to always get an appointment with her. The deluxe mani/pedicure is probably my most favorite thing ever- the clay mask that goes on your feet feels like heaven, especially when wrapped up in the warm towels. I know they may be on the pricey side compared to other places, but you get what you pay for! For me, the security of knowing that I'm safe during COVID while getting the same great service gives me peace of mind. What a beautiful nail salon! I've NEVER experienced anything like Frenchies. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was clean, inviting and modern. My husband and I got pedicures and we both said they were the best we've ever had. They used extremely high quality products. We were very impressed with the ambiance and care the staff took to ensure our experience was exceeded. From the first phone call to book our reservation to the manicurist to the checkout everyone was incredible. I did find the pricing a little high for a basic manicure and pedicure. I pay less back home where everything tends to be more expensive. I found especially charging $ 25 to remove acrylic a little pricey bringing the charge to 95 for a basic combo. This place was great! I just moved to Athens about a month ago so I was looking for a home nail salon so I decided to give this place a go. The staff was very friendly, the place was immaculate, and the pedicure was good. The only couple of things was that 1. It is VERY expensive (even with $5 off for being a first time customer it was still close to $70 not including tip) and 2. For the package I got, the signature which includes a foot massage, I didn't really get a full-on massage. It was more of a running in of the lotion lol. However, that being said, the Tech, Amber, was super sweet and friendly and did an excellent job on my pedicure. So, if you have the money to indulge on such an expensive pedicure, I would highly recommend. Only knocked off one star for those two reasons. read more

I thought I'd enjoy this place better than the standard nail place - however the owner made me uncomfortable hovering over my technician with a stop watch and the technician took foreverrr to do my very simple gel manicure.
