I went in yesterday after work and the last who was going to do my nails had to leave and I'm sad she didn't get to do my nails (Elizabeth) she was so nice. So another lady did my nail and let's just say I had to go to another salon and have them cleaned up. I don't think she does nails that much... but she didn't shape them or clean them up at all. And everyone knows if they are not cleaned up they will pop up faster and not last long. And I was charged for SNS/add on tips which I didn't get tips so not sure why I was charged that. My 12 year old daughter and I went to LV Nails #2 and it was the absolute worst experience at a nail salon that we have ever had. I spent $200 preparing for a business trip. My powder dipped polish fell off in 3 days!!! They were rude especially the older male gentleman that worked on my daughter's nails. This was my first time at this specific location and I was not impressed. I have been to the LV Nails on College Station Road and hated it, however, I tried to be open minded when going to this location. It was very crowded and cluttered when I first walked in. The woman who did my SNS manicure did a fairly decent job. The prices are comparable to other nail salons in town. However, my old SNS manicure was not completely removed and can been seen through my new manicure, some of my "rounded" nails are actually almond shaped, and after 1 week they are already lifting. They were friendly until I decided that I didn't want to put a new gel color on my nails, and wanted to let them breathe for a few weeks. This was the most awful nail salon trip I have ever had. All my cuticles and dead skin are still hanging off of my nails. None of my toenails are the same shape and the polish is not smooth on any of them. The lady also tried to sneakily give me a higher priced pedicure without asking me. She left a bunch of dried product on my leg and I had to ask her to wipe it off. I had to calculate the correct price for the lady who rang me up and she still overcharged me by 50 cents. Ok so let me first start by saying, I HAVE NEVER WRITTEN A YELP REVIEW BEFORE TODAY, and that over the last few years so since I moved back to Athens, this was literally my go to nail salon. BUT my last visit which was last week was by far MY WORST Nail Salon Experience ever. I've never felt so blatantly disrespected and discriminated against in my life... I had just been to the salon the previous week for a fill in and nail repair but as usual within a day or two in of my nails had broken. Which, although is very annoying, I would ysyall overlook because 9//10 the lady who currently runs the place (I know how to say it but I won't pretend to know how it's spelled and would rather not butcher her name) would repair the broken nail/nails free of charge. Which is pretty much what I expected to come in for on this particular day. Me and my aunt were ouT running a few errands and I suggested that instead of her sitting and waiting for me to get my nail fixed that id get us both a pedicure. Now just a little backstory I am a 25yr old black female and my aunt is a white woman in Her early 30s. From the moment we sat down, the lady doing my pedicure kept trying to tell me to get one of the more expensive pedicure options. (which I usually go for when I come alone but today I Was paying for two so I just wanted something simple. Which I expressed) After going back and forth with the lady I guess she finally got the hint and backed off. After this I noticed that she became a lot less friendly. And so did the woman who was repairing my nail. Actually shortly after I chose the simple 25$ pedicure for me and my aunt the woman doing my nails did something with the drill that hurt my finger so bad I yelled out OUCH in pain. I let that slide.. I don't know if they got upset because I picked my and my aunt's pedicure and they want either me or her to spend more and weren't aware that I was paying for both or what but I don't care. That's still no reason to mistreat someone who's spending their hard earned money In you're establishment. Period! So about 10/15 more minutes into my pedicure and nails and you can clearly tell the woman doing my nails is talking about me in whatever language it is she's speaking. SHe keeps yanking at my hands and just being extra aggressive go no reason at all. Now as I'm trying to ignore her rudeness the woman doing my toes starts to use the little utensil where they scrape tge dead skin off of your toes after your feet have soaked and she toO is being extremely rough and at this point I've had enough and am VERY UPSET at how I'm being treated. I saw, "ow you are hurting me" she just keeps going like she doesn't hear me so I get a little louder and yank my foot back. I say " why are y'all being so rough?" "Are y'all having a bad day or something because I come in here all the time and have never received this type of treatment " now mind you, at this point everybody is looking confused and mumbling like they all off a sudden can't speak any English. And I am trying to fight bacK tears from being so pissed off. Phoung or whatever her name is says some little weird shit like "aw are they being mean to you and walks past like it's nothing. Like are you serious? If she truly has any authority at all that was the time for her to speak up and correct their disgusting behavior. I was very disappointed and literally in tears sitting in that pedicure chair. There was one young man though who brought me over some tissues And basically just tried to explain that's tgats just how some of their older women are. Mean and set in their ways and they you just have to " ignore and overlook" them... While yes it was a nice gesture I still called bullshit. There was no excuse for how I was treated in that salon last week.. And they should all be ashamed. I've always come there and had nothing but the upmost respect for anyone who serviced me. I payed for what I wanted no matter what the cost without complaint. And I've also brought others with me to gain you All new customers. But now, I will only mention you all to tell the story of this day. The day I decided to never return to Lv Nails on Barnett Shoals. My sister and I went here for a girls day. It was $102 for two pedicures, one manicure, and one gel polish. I thought that was pretty high so I took a look at the price sheet when I was getting my nails dried and they gave us the "collagen" pedicures which we DID not ask for nor did they ask us. The basic pedicure is $20 the collagen one is $45. That's just sneaky and sharky to me. You don't do that. My sisters gel nail polish also came off within a week. It wasn't worth it. I usually don't allow guys to do my nails but I gave him a chance. HUGE MISTAKE! He seemed upset from my simple questions and the whole process was rushed. This was my first time at LV Nails because I was visiting a friend and had free time. I was repulsed by the lack of treatment I received. The woman doing my nails approached me while texting on her phone and continued to do so while I was waiting on her to get the SNS powder. She continued while I was sitting in front of her waiting and finally began. She also did all my nails in the wrong color, she got them switched with the person next to me. When I confronted her about the color she told me to come back in two weeks then I can get that color...WHAT?? I came here because I had a gift card for a pedicure from Christmas. I'll enjoy a nice pedicure when I have a special event, but I would much rather get a manicure instead. I asked them if I could do that, and they were more than happy to oblige (just changed the $ value). My technician's name was Laura, and she did a fantastic job! She made sure I was happy with the shape from the very beginning, and then checked again after she painted my first nail white if I was still happy with how it looked. I watched HGTV the whole time she did it. Two people came over to make sure I was doing okay and didn't need anything, and after she finished the nails, she gave me an amazing shoulder massage (after asking permission first). With a ton of reading to do for school and a jam packed week ahead, I knew I needed to unwind and relax a bit before I went crazy. My solution was to grab my reading assignment and head to the nearest nail salon to enjoy a pedicure in a massage chair while hopefully knocking out a couple chapters of "The Tenant of Wildfell Hall" by Anne Bronte for my 19th Century British Novel class (just as thrilling as it sounds :) ) LV Nails is right next to the Alps Kroger (aka Hot Kroger), and they had a massage chair and a technician waiting for me the moment I walked in. It is impeccably clean and very comfortably furnished. Yet....not a five star experience. I was in and out in 20 minutes. While maybe that might be good for some people, I wanted to chill out in a massage chair for at least 45 minutes. Nope, not today. And the technician, though very good, tried to upsell me at least 3 times. Twice suggesting a manicure and also suggested a design on my toes. Umm, no thanks, just the pedi. I've been a client at this salon for almost 10 years, and I get the same thing every time. However, within my last few visits, they tell me a different price than what I usually pay. I ask why every time and I get a different answer every time. Very inconsistent and confusing. I am very sad about this considering I love the work they do and they have a very pleasant staff. Best nail salon in this town that I have yet to find... I have been getting gel manicures for years twice a month and I enjoy a pedicure almost monthly. Over the years I've had excellent and horrible experiences in a variety of big cities. When I moved to Athens I visited several salons before trying LV Nails. Now it is the only salon in town I visit - especially for a gel polish manicure. It is my experience that every nail salon will attempt to up-sell additional services. LV nails is no different in that regard, but after declining a service here I have never felt pressured. I have been offered a third coat of color with the gel polish almost every visit and times when I was not offered and requested a third coating, my request was happily met. They have standard comfortable massaging chairs and do use disposable liners in the feet tubs (important to me). I have had several nail techs here and the service has been exceptional every time. They have more gel options than almost any salon I have ever visited - and I am accustomed to having options. I especially like that they carry every brand of gel. I am going in tomorrow for a manicure - my current gel polish has been on almost a full month and other than growing out at the base, it has stayed on strong and has not begun to peel or chip at all! read more

The service has been terrible, the attention to detail and care of the nails has been sub par. I've had to ask repeatedly to have them evenly shaped and smooth. I've also had kickback and snarky remarks and smirks made to me when I politely pointed out the flaws that I wanted fixed amongst the shape of the nails. WORST NAIL SALON EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE. First and foremost I was adamant on getting the regular pedicure and they proceeded argue with me to do gel when I said no, up charging me $20. Kim, the lady that did my toes, cut my toes twice... causing them to bleed. Put some sort of chemical on my feet that gave them BURNS. She also chipped my entire big toe nail to the point where she had to put AN ACRYLIC gel on my toe to make it look some what normal. They tried to charge me a total of $80 at the end, which I'm a student and should get a student discount, only got sns nails with no tips, which to mention are all uneven in height. I spoke with the manager asking to comp my feet because they are bleeding and burned and genuinely hurt, and she refused. They kept arguing with me, the lady that did my toes was trying to hush me from telling them what happened. Never ever going there again. I ended up paying $60 because the manager refused and walked away. Seriously, go to Bali nails one mile away because this place is horrible. NOW MY TOES ARE TURNING PURPLE. read more

When I walk in the door everyone greets me by name. Judy and her husband do a great job - excellent customer service. I don't write reviews very often, but this one needs to be read. The location is great, it's large & clean, they have TONS of color options BUT RUN FAR AWAY. I received a gift certificate to this place and was excited since I've been neglecting my nails. I went in the first time and only got a pedicure. The lady kept tying to up-sell me. I get it, it's your job. But man after I agree to a $5 extra mud mask thing leave me alone! She kept trying until i finally got so annoyed I put my headphones on. THEN when I went to check out the person tried to charge me 35 instead of the 30$ i agreed on with the tech. After flagging her down she apologized and I was charged the correct amount. I tipped in cash and made sure to still be nice Bc I still had a considerable amount left on my gift certificate. I returned 3wks later for a SNS mani & basic pedicure. They have Soooo many color options for sns. Great. But they kept trying to rush me to pick a color. They weren't busy so I didn't get it but whatever. I sat down to start my pedi & just took some color samples with me. Exactly as last time I started to get pestered to upgrade my pedi. I put my foot down and said- "no this is all I want. Noting more. Thank you". Luckily she stopped there. She layered on my polish super thick. When I mentioned that to her she said once it dried it would be perfect. I figured since I would be sitting here another 40min or so for my nails it would be fine. NOPE! After almost an hour once I went home i noticed both of my big toes were ruined! Smudged with marks. Smh. Now to my nails. Long story short the guy doing my nails couldn't understand what shape I was looking for. Then he didn't file down the powder to a natural look- I had to ask him 3x to not leave a huge lump/hill at my nail bed. He then says to me "this is how most people like it". Um WHO CARES? I politely said "well I prefer a more natural look". I could tell he was annoyed I was making him work harder to meet my preferences. Then when I went to check out I was charged 5$ more than I was supposed to. At this point I just wanted to get out and I did not feel like arguing. Well then he counts my tip and says "what about tip for her?" (Referring to the lady who did my feet) I left $16. All the cash I had. He says I only gave $10. I took the money back from him & took his calculator and say look- and I broke it down to him. He only counted $50 instead of the $55 i had left on my gift certificate. Smh.
