As a profession, dentists get a pretty bad rap. Let's face it - nobody enjoys having their teeth pulled and prodded, the guilt that the old «And how often do you floss?» question invokes or the inevitable higher than expected financial output...
Accordingly, Frenchs Forest Dental do their darndest to make this a more pleasant experience. And whilst I can't exactly describe my trip as fun, I've definitely been involved in worse ones. The waiting room makes a good lookin' first impression; a TV was on, which, as everyone knows, is way better than a radio when in a waiting room. The magazine collection was second to none, rendering me an overall happy waiter.
My happiness with the experience continued as I went in to the dentist and subjected myself to a check up. Clearly, the checkup itself was no fun at all; lockjaw and saliva everywhere is rarely enjoyable. But the dentist and his assistant made it bearable - we chatted about travel, about the weather, about my teeth, about what was on the LCD screen that I could watch while they rooted around in my mouth. They were also quick - more than anything, the dentist is my ultimate get-in-get-out experience. They gave me choice about what I could do with the existing issues with my teeth, advice for avoiding future problems and absolutely no pressure to come back immediately/buy expensive tooth products/fix all vague problems immediately. Rather, they chatted with me, then bid me a pleasant farewell, allowing me to leave with positive vibes for coming back the next time. read more
