Since I was a tourist, I didn't schedule an appointment and inquired if I could get it fixed relatively quickly. The dental assistant at the front desk was friendly and was quick in offering to find out what the cost would be for me since I don't have insurance in Australia. Since it wasn't too busy at the time I went in, the dentist, Dr. Dong, was able to see me immediately. He was careful in assessing where the problem area was and grinded my retainer down to make it much more comfortable for me. Pretty swift for a relatively young dentist! He wasn't a chatty Cathy, which I appreciate, but was friendly in asking me how I was, how I've been enjoying Sydney, etc. The assistant who aided him in the room was also nice and professional. The clinic itself was nice and clean, and the waiting space is tastefully decorated. There are even some toys for kids to play with! The actual room I was in had a TV up on the ceiling for me to watch the news; nice touch to distract patients or at least calm them down a bit!

Then you can't change the appointment within 24 hours of it, so you're stuck if you didn't read all the terms and conditions. Their bizarre way around this is you have to pay a 200 dollar deposit and come back when you have your physical card, and then getting the refund of the deposit is like getting blood out of a stone. I had half an hour of waiting and waiting as the receptionist was unable to process their claim or refund me, after having gone to their clinic in their advertised opening times three times. This is why I left and asked for my card back, because I don't have the time for that. They then wanted me to come back and sort this out, but they threatened that they would not refund the 200 dollar deposit unless I removed my google review. See the document that they wanted me to sign on google. I said I would not remove the review and I would update it with this conversation and the letter, the owner called me mean and defamatory, kept saying that it was a gift he was trying to give me when the offer is clearly advertised that it is no gap, and they were paid in full by my health fund $325.75, which is HIGHER than they charge non health fund patients. They also advertise themselves on my health fund as a "choice network" dentist, but this is misleading, as they dont remove or reduce the gap on all preventative dental visits, only the first one. This is the first of their many disingenous statements, misleading comments, or bald face lying in their response on google. It is a bizarre place where they take close up pictures of your teeth and show you all minor blemishes completely unnecessarily, in the hope to upsell you to cosmetic dentistry. It is a horrible experience for the patient. They have a reply on google which is completely inaccurate and defamatory. They never once said they would refund the deposit and have no payment at all. The photo evidence is right there in the google review. Please note my health fund paid a total of 325.75, when they offer this for 200 dollars without a health fund. So them saying they gave me a gift again and again is really disingenuous. Their prices are much more expensive than comparable dentists I have been to, and the experience was bizarre, hurtful, stressful, and downright degrading. Also they say they are open until 7pm but they weren't a few times when I tried to sort this out. They called me 3 times when I was at work to try and get me to physically come back to settle the claim, refusing to stay until their advertised opening time. They harassed me, as I said not to contact me again. They threatened me with not refunding the refundable deposit unless I removed the review and they are completely lying about any yelling or slamming the door in their reply. Their door is heavy and is loud on its own. The receptionist agreed I didn't yell. I did not go around the receptionists desk, the letter of their blackmail was right there in front of me, it was shown to me. The owner called me mean for not removing this accurate review, not for yelling or any other defamatory things they have said in their reply. They called me another three times the next day, including twice when I was preparing for an imminent job interview. They like to call multiple times again and again. They wanted my bank account number when the refund was agreed to be processed to the card, and they said it already was. So that part of their reply is completely inaccurate too. The health fund were shocked and will be investigating their disingenuous membership of the choice network, and I will report this experience to AHPRA or other regulators. They called me many things in their google review reply which are simply not true, and it has made me want to consider defamation proceedings. Even minor things like saying they asked for my bank details in person. They said it would be refunded to the card. They blatantly lie to try and cover up what a completely ridiculous situation this was and still is. Thanks for ruining my week.

To the extent that I kept seeing my London Dentist for almost 2 years after moving back to AUS because I really didn't want to change. However, a friend and colleague gave a glowing reference about Dr Hoff and recommended I try it. I can honestly say that from the moment I arrived, met Dr Hoff and had a check up and saw the hygienist, I was very comforted with their high level of skill, their approach was gentle, I was always well informed of what they were doing and their remarks on maintaining optimum dental health, I was so pleased. On top of that, I really appreciate Dr Hoff's approach to dental care which is the right fix not a quick fix, and minimally so. I've seen dentists which suggest you spend loads of money just capping everything and doing this and that, Dr Hoff has a more balanced and honest approach, gives you options for dental care and puts the decision in your hands. I couldn't be happier, thanks to Dr Hoff and the team.

I also had my teeth cleaned and some fillings put in, her gentle and precise technique ensured I was not in any discomfort. Lynette is extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer all the questions and concerns I had. They were even able to take photos of my teeth (the molars at the back) and show me what work needed to be done, this was awesome as I could actually see the difference in what she had done to fix my teeth! The clinic was extremely hygienic and I especially enjoyed the rainforest wallpaper which I appreciated while my teeth were being cleaned. If you are looking for a new dentist I would highly recommend this practice as Lynettes experience, knowledge and passion towards her work is remarkably apparent.

I am undergoing orthodontic treatment here (i.e. Braces). I was referred to Family Orthodontics…read morebecause a couple of my friend had their braces done here back as adolescents years ago and were happy with the results. Family Orthodontics has two principal Orthodontists with a sizable staff of dental hygienists and front office workers. My experience of the service here is what I would deem completely unsatisfactory. Firstly, one member of their front office staff is rude - when answering the phone her mannerism is quite disdainful, and she is generally unfriendly and gives off the impression that she is impatient and that you're wasting her time. This is not acceptable for a practice targeted towards "families". Secondly, when going in for appointments, you are ushered into the surgery area as if it was an assembly line. I understand that they are a busy practice, but there are 3 dental chairs lined up next to each other with NO privacy screens. I don't want to have my mouth agape with the next patient over AND their family watching me as I'm getting my adjustments. Thirdly - I am paying a premium to have my braces adjusted by a qualified ORTHODONTIST. I find it unacceptable that they are allowing "dental hygienists" to perform the adjustments as I do not feel dental hygienists would have the adequate training in mechanics of the wires meet the standards that I expect from an orthodonist. I would have gone to a regular dentist and pay 3K less if that was the case. In terms of the actual orthodontic treatment - I am 1 year into my treatment but feel trapped. I have not been able to get in time to discuss my concerns of the progress of my teeth with Dr Tim Mew-sum. I also find that the practice is quite old fashioned in that they only offer traditional ligature braces, and not the Damon system. I fully regret my decision to go with this practice. I urge you to ask a lot of questions on your treatment plan in the initial few consultations - orthodontic treatment is pricey and is a commitment - so make sure you trust the orthodonist, as well as their practice policies.

I love the dentist because it gives me a chance to show off another of my super powers that are not…read morethat super, a ridiculous resistance to anaesthetic. In reality what this means is I need double the amount of a normal person. I have read that it's a ginger thing but that claim is still being debated among the medical community. One thing is for certain, for a dentist who practices pain-free dentistry it is mildly vexing. Dr D'Netto is that pain free dentist and he is very good at his job. Throughout procedures he carefully explains what he is doing and what you can expect to experience so you don't freak out and his great aftercare advice that no one ever follows is very sensible. He doesn't get on your case about not flossing enough either. His hours are convenient - he sees the last patient about 6pm on weeknights and works alternate Saturdays. His prices are reasonable (I never pay more than about $30 after health care rebate). Dr D'Netto is somewhat local to me but even when I have lived out of the area I still come all the way. It's rare to find a great dentist and Dr D is a great dentist.
