There's an employee you speak to upon entering and the lady was very pleasant directing what you need to do, where to go. They call up groups by appointment time to then get in line and this day there were about 8 windows helping customers. It was swift and orderly which makes me highly recommend this SOS location. It's big, it's clean, easy off, easy back on the highway, you don't have to go to Monroe and you're no longer in Ohio, what's not to love? I usually end up here at night but if you're here in non-vampire hours there's an absolutely insane amount of travel brochures in a Hallmark store sized space built especially for them. I've even seen a show flyer here for a band playing at the Lager House in Detroit. I can't say that for any other rest stop. Great place to stretch my legs and pick up some caffeine for the last leg of my trip back home. The last time I wound up here was coming back from Columbus on New Year's Eve during a blizzard. I meant to be in Detroit to ring in the New Year but the snow slowed me up enough for me to know that wasn't going to happen. I honestly thought about staying at this rest stop for an extra twenty minutes here just to say I rang in 2025 here. I ultimately decided I'd be pretty bored and that I'd go on my weary way into the snowy night just to pass midnight on some random spot on I-75 but just the fact I even considered this wacky plan should speak to this being a really nice res, er, welcome center. In addition to the customary books, you can check out movies, music, magazines, and even ebooks. Miss Heidi, one of the children's librarians, does a fantastic baby story time and an equally fantastic story time for 2-5 year olds. Another great perk is that you can request any library material from any Toledo library and it will be sent here. When it arrives, they email you. You wouldn't believe how much easier this makes my life as the mother of an actve toddler!

This library is located on the shores of the River Raisin. During the early spring, you can see the sugaring taking place at the nearby Navarre-Anderson Trading Post. The site is a beautiful place to observe the changing seasons in Monroe. The accommodations are excellent and there is a separate children's library. There are many cultural events that take place here, such as jazz concerts, movies, etc. I'm glad I found this branch of the library!
