Grocery shopping is not in my blood. This task is normally done by my wife. However, Fresco Y Mas recently replaced the Winn-Dixie location in Lehigh Acres has made a change in my life style. Going to Fresco Y Mas (FYM) is like take a trip. Beside the standard grocery, FYM, with so many Latin produces and food available, you may find yourself swamped with temptation to test taste different cultural inspired food. We've been taking weekly excursion to FYM, first starting with Cuban Sandwich, Pan con lechon (Pork Sandwich), and Smoked pork belly chunks, we proceed to Ropa Vieja and Chicken Fricassee. And more! On one of the trip, I spotted a Panettone sweet bread by Bauducco. Without hesitation, I picked one up. I prepared ourselves French Toast with Panettone with whipped cream, raspberry and syrup. That was a great breakfast treat! The soft texture of Panettone with raisins and citron are simply amazing. An excellent way to start your day! That Bauducco wafer, is so additive and at a great sake price, 3 for 98 cents. The normal price is $1.34 for one! Last week, with two frozen lobster tails from FYM, I baked them with a little seasoning. Pop, two good looking lobster tails for dinner. Now, food shopping at FYM is a culinary excursion rather than a chore! read more

Best prices and excellent customer service. You can't ask any better! The store always has all the products you need in stock

I used to like going to this Fresco it's fresh and airy, good prices, wide cross section of products & produce until I ran into one of their Customer Service staff Doris who behaves like a racist. One time she refused to serve me and when i called the manager she lied and told the Manager (Bob) that this was not true. On another occasion she asked me if I was paying with my EBT card (I was never on the DOLE, not once in my life). Why would you ask me about EBT card, is it because I am black? Cashiers usually ask cash or charge? One time she went to get something with a customer outside and the polite thing to do or say to me would be, give me a minute while I get something outside for this customer but she just walked off (A manager Donata was passing by and must have seen the look on my face and she said she would be right back). Doris returned and a staff asked for something and she went off with the staff towards the produce section and again did not say anything to me waiting in line. All the time I was their waiting. On Tuesday Feb 7th 2023, I stood on line waiting while she attended to 2 ladies, after the ladies left, I walked up to the counter and stood in front of her, she was finishing up something at the cash register, she then looked up at me, stare me dead in the eyes, walked away and went to attend to a clearly Hispanic customer who is light skinned with straight hair (this customer had just walked in) and she asked him, how can I help you? I confronted her to which she said she did not see me there. A manager Luis also clearly Hispanic was called but did nothing. Frank intervened and attended to me while Doris continued with the Hispanic client. There have been other occasions that I have run into other staff with racist like behavior but this woman takes the cake. She is slow, inefficient, insolent and incompetent, whenever she is the cashier, their is always a traffic jam, she takes a minimum of 22 minutes to attend to a customer and yes, I have actually timed her on more than one occasion. On one of those days, it was a Saturday, a Caucasian manager, was passing and I drew her attention to the long line and clearly disgruntled customers and ask if we could get another cashier. This manager went away and came back around 5 minutes later, Dpris was still with the same customer (she had actually been with that same customer for about 19 minutes by my count). The manager took a couple minutes to open up the other register and started taking customers. The manager attended to 4 customers and Doris was still with the same customers. I am not sure if the manager called Donata or Donata was just passing by but they had a conversation and she (Donata) said something very kind to her like, are you okay there Doris and she replied yes. The manager attended to me and I left with Doris still with the same customer, I don't know what happened after I left but by then she was with that customer, at a minimum half an hour. I am black and very proud of my heritage. Doris needs to know that she is in no way better than me, she is a minority like myself and my money is as green as everyone else's. Fresco needs to train their staff in sensitivity amongst the races. Publix , Save a Lot and Choice is just a stone throw away and they offer similar services. My mom and a couple people I spoke to told me they don't go there because of similar treatment that they have received. Well Fresco, if your store is only for HISPANICS then please put that on the front of your store. Listen up people if you are BLACK BEWARE. I am giving this store a 2 star ONLY because not all the staff are bad. I would like to say these staff includes Frank that has shown much improvement, Bob and Donata. read more

1The bathrooms are so disgusting that I literally came out choking, ready to puke. Any time I visit this location I hope not to have to go. Unfortunately they never feel/look clean, but twice they made me feel sick. So ashame cause the rest of the store feels good. #BATHROOMS NAUSIATINGLY DIRTY. read more
