However, there was a country-wide shortage of children antibiotics going on. Agh! We called EVERYWHERE. CVS. Walgreens. Publix. You name it. We tried it. And then someone recommended John's Pharmacy. Low and behold, they had it. We rushed over there with our prescription in hand. The pharmacist was understanding and quickly filled our prescription so we weren't waiting. They told me I did not need to refrigerate one of the compounded meds so I did not. I JUST FOUND MOLD ON THE CAP. GROSS!! Last month they told me to double a dose on one Med. I figured maybe it was right since I had just been to the vet. The next month it was back to normal. THEY MADE A MISTAKE!!! THEY HAD ME DOUBLE DOSING MY HEART PATIENT FOR FOR A MONTH. I am lucky he did not get really sick from it. The poor thing was a nervous reck from the over dose all month. I thought he was sick and wasted money on a vet visit.

When I pushed further, they told me to call Publix and figure it out myself. Publix actually tried to help by calling this pharmacy to correct the issue, but nobody here answers the phone. In all my years dealing with pharmacies, I have never experienced anything like this. I would rather keep my prescription at Publix and pay more than transfer it to this location.

If you are unfamiliar with the island, there are very few grocery stores you can shop at, so if you are actually on Captiva, this is your spot. There are more on Sanibel but that is a further drive. They also sell some merchandise, body items such as sunscreen and hats and then beer, wine, and liquor. We always stop here a few times while staying on the island. There are also fruits and vegetables as well as other cold items, pre made salads, dry stock items, such as breads, sauces, chips, etc. Something we always get is one of their sandwiches. They do make sandwiches to order as well using Boar Head items. For a small store, their wine and beer sections are very large. They even have a walk-in cooler so you can grab drinks cold already. We were able to find almost everything we were looking for or missed bringing with us. They welcomed us and said hello. The two guys we encountered were both very friendly and nice. We will continue to come here. It is convenient for where my family stays and we always run out of something such as bread or forget something. It is a perfect place to grab those last-minute items.
