I have NEVER cried after a wax appointment from disappointment until last night, I only got this wax because I'm going on vacation for my birthday in literally the next 24 hours and I knew I was gonna get in the pool at my hotel but had I known I would be leaving like this, I would've just shaved and saved my money. Again, she was a very nice girl but it looks like i'm ready for a 3-4 weeks touch-up and not like i just got a FRESH wax. You have your temp taken and asked to sanitize your hands (or wash at the sink) before getting started. It's too soon to really report on overall changes to my skin's conditions, but my facial was thorough and relaxing, and my skin was positively glowing when I left. I don't say that lightly. Allison made a lot of great recommendations, and I picked up a hydrating serum there based on her recommendations. It's a calm, relaxing atmosphere and I feel comfortable and confident there. I've been a member at this…read morelocation since 2017, and the service and EWC products overall have gone down substantially--to the point I attended the Main Street location for services (ultimately the same). I just waited 15 minutes for a service (eyebrows) that takes the same amount of time. While I'm appreciative of the $10 credit towards products after inquiring at 3pm why I'm still waiting when my appointment was at 2:45pm, the end result is no longer worth the investment. I only had one service left (today) on my wax pass and will go to a technician who specializes in eyebrows. What I got today was wasn't bad but meh. One significant difference I've noticed over the years is how quickly hair grows back (for eyebrows and south of the border). With a company that's releasing 50 different "slow growth" products under the sun, this makes sense to keep customers coming back for waxes and products to reduce growth. (Not seeing the result you want? Buy more products.) Kudos to those who do see results, but I've body washed and polished. Hasn't worked for me, and one of the products might've caused a rash. The *biggest* issue I have with EWC as a whole is that, for south of the border waxes, waxers don't get all of the hair which requires you to come back in for a touch-up appointment. (If you didn't know, you have five-ish days to rebook an appointment for missed hair at no cost. Not sure how or if this is advertised. I only found out last year.) And I'm not talking about someone popping in with hair as thick as a hedges. Without fail, there's almost always a small section that was missed or not thoroughly waxed I find when I get home. (I've had different EWC waxers at different locations. No one gave me a mirror to inspect.) It happened last month at this location and previously at the Main Street location before that. Having to schedule touch-ups after waxing gets annoying. There's a limited window to do so, and if the service did what it needed to do in the first place, we could all save time wasted redoing the entire appointment. *Another* issue I have is that waxers have but so many times they can wax an area. So if they wax your leg, and after the number EWC says is the limit, you have to come back for a touch-up. One waxer at this location last year tried to *tweeze* remaining hair on my cooch before she told me about the touch-up appointments. There wasn't a chance in this world I was sitting through that! My hair (*with* "slow growth" products) almost always grows back less than a week after my wax. What's funny is I started purchasing an at-home wax kit two months ago to give myself a south of the border wax. Not only did it last longer than EWC, but it was a third of the price. Also echoing another review of how rushed waxers get. Speaking to some waxers, their schedules are packed, which means stronger chances to wax off something by mistake or not do the best job. The turnover at EWC is WILD! There was a time not too long ago when the person I saw was gone, so I got someone else. That someone else left (for whatever reason), so there was someone else. Not the same as it used to be, so it's time to move on.

Now onto the work that Julia does with her hair design. Today, I went in for cut and color. Before beginning, Julia made sure she had the exact idea of what I wanted from my visit down to every detail. She also spent a good amount of time going over my color choice for the day and making sure I was comfortable and excited about my new dye color. Julia is very knowledgeable about what colors and hair styles go well with your skin tone. She is very detailed oriented and she really wants to customers to love their hairstyle. While I was waiting for my dye to set, Julia offered me a cup of coffee or tea, whatever I wanted! This made the whole experience warm and relaxing. Then comes the brows, after the concerning and confusing facial. My brows were tinted and then waxed. The tint left me looking like Ms. Trunchbull. No way I was going out in public with those on my face. Upon closer inspection my brows were haphazardly waxed- which I couldn't tell with the mass of tint still on my skin. I'm in the market for a new place so I decided to give this place a try. The technician who did my pedicure was nice. I was impressed by the materials they used and how nice the salon was. I knew that must be why the prices were so high. Their overhead must be unreal. Towels with the salon name embroidered on them and everything. She even used fresh sliced oranges to massage in the scrub from the upgraded pedicure package. But that's okay, I don't mind paying for higher quality products and service. At this point I was very impressed. The issue came with the second tech who did my manicure. She asked me how I liked my nails so I was telling her. I'm particular about my nails-- the shape, the style... etc. But I'm by no means a jerk about it. I simply know what I want and I ask for it. My nails are my thing. I love my nails, everyone loves my nails, I get compliments on my nails all the time. They're nothing spectacular they're just really nice. Anyway, I was telling her what I wanted-- my natural nails are nice and really healthy so I only want clear acrylic or some kind of clear overlay on top to strengthen them. I clean at work and it's rough on my nails. They'll break if they aren't reinforced. I also like my nails ballerina slipper shape. Basically they taper toward then ends and are squared off. But as I was explaining what I wanted she looked up, said something to the woman working at the next table, and the woman's head flew up and she stared at me with a look of shock on her face, and then they both laughed loudly and shook their heads. I'm not the kind of person who automatically thinks that just because someone is speaking another language they are talking about me. But it was clear in this instance they were. I didn't say another word the rest of the visit. I gave her a terrible tip of $5. I gave the other woman $15. With such a personal service like this the end result isn't all that matters. It's the whole experience, including how you feel when leaving. Not only did I end up having to get a colored polish on my nails because the material she used on my nails was so cloudy it looked terrible, but I had to file away polygel lumps along the edges of my nails that I noticed once I got home, my nails were more round than ballerina slipper (no tapering whatsoever), and I left feeling disrespected and offended.
