You fill out paperwork in-office, since although they have a web site, they do not provide the ability to print and complete ahead of time. So, they could get with the times a bit more, with that, but their forms aren't too lengthy, so it only took about 5 minutes in the waiting room. They then take you back, put your kiddo in a chair, and do a cursory look, to determine if your child needs braces, and what approach they would take. But really, there is enough of a glance to see how severe or moderate the issues are, and Dr. Small knows what he's doing, so not a huge ordeal. At the end, they will say, "about (fill in the blank) years... about (fill in the blank) dollars." Then you can decide if you will come back, pay an up-front cash fee (in our case about $200), and get X-rays and molds made. A very nice feature is that they will take the dollar amount your insurance doesn't cover, and break that cost over the course of months of treatment, as in-house financing. So, the pain of $5000, less insurance, can be spread over approximately 2 years. They file "most insurance," so you likely won't have an issue.

Dr. Campbell took over my daughters care as Dr.Garlitz was retiring, and the transition has been completely smooth. Dr. Campbell, without fail, has come out to speak to me at each and every appointment to discuss my daughters progress and the next steps. He has gone above and beyond what I would have expected in service, and at the end of her treatment, he surprised her by taking off her braces right on the spot so that she could have a beautiful smile for her upcoming camp that she was so excited about! Needless to say my daughter was in tears. Now we get to start another child, and I have total faith that he will continue to give this specific attention to detail that will result in yet another beautiful smile in our family!

Unfortunately, on the day of my appointment I slept through two alarms because I've been having to take sleeping medication to SLEEP THROUGH my pain, and was told that I could no longer reschedule with the because I was a new patient who missed their first appointment. No "rescheduling fees" nothing. No second chances. They completely dumped me before seeing me because of something that was out of my control. This shows lack of empathy, understanding and caring and I'm thankful I didn't even get the chance to let them touch my mouth. At the end of the day it was my fault for that accident, but at the same time, then not providing any additional options (like paying a reschedule fee) and just flat out dumping me when my mouth is infected is a pretty nasty business practice.

Dr. White's office scheduled the evaluation about a month out, not terrible. Dr. White's office sent online portal access within days, while none were provided by the other ortho. Dr. White himself was a very pleasant person, positive, friendly, and dealt well with my 2 boys. The other ortho was not friendly, kind, or pleasant. It was his way or no way. Dr. White dis not want to remove any impacted teeth, because they were too close to nerves and other teeth, and would likely cause permanent nerve damage. He explained that the remaining baby tooth was fused to the bone and would be torture to remove, because they would have to remove bone as well. The other ortho wanted to remove the baby tooth, remove the impacted adult tooth that should be where the baby tooth is, and then remove another tooth on top to line up the teeth. Dr. White actually cared about my sons over all health, not just getting braces on, teeth lined up, and a paycheck. Dr. White's office is by far superior, especially Dr. White himself. Taking my 3rd son there this fall.
