beautiful building but terrible service. staff is friendly but their is zero organization here. you wait in a waiting room until it fillls up with 3-4 people and then let you all in at once while saying they will call you up in order you came in but then proceed to do the opposite. i swear it's a curse. last time i was here and now today as well, i'm the first one in the waiting room but the last to be seen from the bud tender. if you come here don't be a idiot like me and look around.THEY WONT CALL YOU! I love this place and I come here all the time. However, I encountered a glitch in the system today that was very disappointing. Today is Tuesday and the daily special is advertised at "$10 off Nuthera flower," however, the online price only shows a $5 discount. I went into the dispensary and they were unable to honor the $10 discount as advertised. I've used dispensary products in Florida and Delaware, and I find KCMO is actually on top of its cannabis game: the variety of local/state vendors should not be underestimated. I hope other industries take note. I've bought enough product from flower, carts, concentrate, and edibles to feel confident in continue using their products. But your mileage will always vary, so there is that to consider as well. The one time I bought a defective vape cart, the dispensary tech extended a full-refund on my honor (I'd forgotten the defective cart and offered to walk back home. the tech very generously extended a refund instead of having me walk home and back. I wouldn't have been upset at the tech if she had asked me to return with the product. The facility is usually very clean, and I've had some great encounters with the staff. But Gabbi is my fave!! She's always so quick with a warm greeting, and is very knowledgeable about the product. Of course I could just be high. Which is always the case, which means ... hmmm ... (I was looking for something with high CBD content but it's kinda hard to know since their information is inaccurate (see photo). They also do not include an ingredient list on their edibles, which I've never seen before. This place was really easy to find and check in went smooth enough. I was pretty disappointed - the guy who we were assigned to help us out was not helpful. He was pushing certain products and we were asking for best deals and other options and if we hadn't noticed some of the signs and other options to request - he was still stuck on promoting items that cost more. A couple of times we were like - well what about this one - seems less and he was like 'oh yeah, there is that.' It really seemed like he had partaken in the items they were selling so much that he was not able to provide any helpful support. The most helpful person was another sales person when another customer asked for the same things we had been talking about - less expensive gummies and she was like - 'we have these ones which are from a local company and cost less.' It was about 1/3 the cost of what the guy was trying to get us to buy claiming it was the best deal. Honestly not really a company I will probably visit again. read more

This dispensary on Linwood across from Costco is clean and neatly organized, and in my experience every employee I've spoken to has been kind & helpful. My last experience with Genea was pleasant as they made waiting to pick up my order feel more like a low key hang. That said I usually have to wait a few minutes to get my order even after ordering ahead, and the prices seem relatively steep. Overall it's a nice accessible shop that's a little heavy handed on the clean-cut yuppie aesthetic, but the people there make it worthwhile. read more

After a brief wait, we walked into the showroom expecting to be able to look at the product and browse the shop. Instead, the bud-tender rushed us to the counter to take our order. The bud-tender read off some of the names of their products but there was no bud to see or smell, nor was any information or intended effects of the products explained to us. When I heard about Fresh Karma coming to midtown KCMO I was really looking forward to going there. I'm a MMJ patient, and I have been going since they opened. Of course, the more you know about what you want the better. For me the experience has always been very positive . This is one of my top three go-to dispensaries in town. It is a beautiful place with lots of open space -- which was very reassuring during Covid (or during flu season in general). Though I have ordered online and used the drive-through several times, I still like going inside if I have a bit more time. The budtenders have always been very friendly and knowledgeable. The rotating selection has always been great. In fact, I have found some of my favorite strains there. So, IMO Fresh Karma in midtown KCMO is top-notch. read more

This was the first dispensary I had ever been to. I tried a couple others, but none of them had the variety of inventory, quality of inventory, and quality of customer service. Plus the inside is very clean and the setup is very welcoming. The staff there are amazing, this trip I was helped by Joe S. I came in and told Joe that I was in a car accident in October and had to have spinal surgery and I needed something that would help with pain, he showed me several different options, and was very patient with me. I work in customer service so I can recognize good customer service when I see it. Joe S. Was amazing. All of the budtenders there are. That's why I drive all the way to Kansas City Missouri when I don't live anywhere near 31st and Linwood. But I keep coming back for all the reasons I named above if you haven't gone to this location, I highly recommend it. I was talking to a friend of mine the other day and we were talking about dispensaries, and I said "there's one next door to my work but you know which one is my favorite?" Before I could say anything, she said "Fresh Karma on Linwood". It just made me laugh because I didn't get a word out before she said exactly what I was going to say, and that that is their best location as far as customer service and lay out of the building now they have a drive-thru, and they also have a rewards program. And they allow pets. So my dog gets to come with me every time I go in . One time she pooped on the floor. I was so embarrassed because it was so out of character of her and I was expecting them to get mad but they were so gracious and handed me a bag and that was that I didn't hear another word about it and Ally's been welcome back ever since. I normally don't do reviews but I had to for this place. For starters the service is terrible. I came in and waited for 30 minutes and they helped three ppl that were walk ins that came after me. The people in the front were cool but the budtenders were rude and didn't look like they actually smoked to know what effects the buds have. All in all I would go to any other place to get bud before I would go here again. And before you think I just had one bad experience I've been twice and experienced the same thing both times. One of the best places to buy in Kansas City Missouri. The staff is extremely friendly and the security guards are some of the nicest people I have met. Officer at the front to check your ID was just as rude if not more rude then the lady in the drive through. I've had nothing but great experiences at every other dispensary so I will never be back to this one. I've been going here since the midtown location has opened and i've always really enjoyed my experience, (i usually go about once a week) the last two times i've visited i had two different people at the front desk be rude to me both times and they both made it seem like i was bothering them for just existing. im not really sure why it's like that now because it never was before, as someone in the service industry i've never really taken things like this to heart but i feel like this behavior is kind of unacceptable, this is actually the first yelp review i've ever written if that tells you how upset these last two visits have made me. im really disappointed and i won't be returning to this location. :( read more

if I could leave no stars, I would. it started with pulling up to the drive-threw and handing the lady at the window my drivers license and debit card. Actually, it was placed into the holders they push out as you see at banks or pharmacy drive threw. She immediately went to retrieve my id and debit card and looked to be struggling. She then got back on the mic and said "theres a crate in there for a reason" with the worse attitude. That immediately confused me because I honestly didn't even see a crate in their. I then apologized to the lady but could tell instantly she was not happy. She then legit took 2 seconds to look at the computer and say "i don't see your order, try again" and handed me back my things. I have the confirmation text on my phone and was placed almost an hour before I got there. with them replying my order was ready for pickup 5 min after I placed the order. So I was just immediately annoyed with how rude she was being after that and went to go park to go inside and try again. I then get inside just to be greeted by an even more aggressive security guard, and tried explain the situation again and handed him my id and card. He then is taking his time looking through the system and behind him is that same girl speaking loudly saying the same stuff. (very unprofessional by the way). He then says he can't find my order and that there are multiple locations and need to check if this is the right location. I then show him again my order confirming that it is this location. He then says to me he can't find my order but he can put me in the que as a walk in. As a customer who decided to order online and order ahead to AVOID things like this, is extremely distasteful just to be met with a failed website that loses customers orders and rude customer service when you WORK AT A WEED SHOP!!!!! You really should be the happiest.. SHAME. Will not be doing business at this location again that's for sure. read more

Not a huge fan of this location, I've placed online orders to pick up through the drive thru here multiple times and the last 4 or 5 times they have not even had record of my order. Each time I order I received a confirmation, a text that my order was ready, and an order number, however when I arrive at the drive thru they never seem to have my order. Every time this happens the budtenders are somewhat snarky about asking if I'm sure that I placed my order at this location, and one of them has even told me that they can't do anything with the order numbers/don't use them, so who knows why they send those out. When they lose my order they offer an express pass to go inside, however the express pass doesn't mean anything and you still have to wait behind everyone in the lobby. I've had multiple other bad experiences at this location including being sold melted gummies that were sticky and gooey. Looking at other reviews, it was good to see that I'm not the only one who's had bad experiences here. The only plus about this location is that there is a drive thru.. but recently with all of the issues at this location, I'll probably start going to The Forest in Westport- have had MUCH better experiences there and they have great deals. read more
