I get annoyed when people want Dr. James Gaudio To do a professional examination on a patient, and after that, the patient informs the office that they want a prescription to go to one, 800 contact so they can save money. If everyone keeps doing that doyou think the eye doctor is gonna be able to run a business and stay in business grossing $50 an hour? If people keep that up, it's gonna be like all the Toys "R" Us and Macy's and countless other stores that Amazon put out of business. Stop being cheap. See the eye doctor and buy the contact lenses from him so you pay a few dollars more it keeps them in business. For some of you out there that had words to say about Steve Gaudio, well he is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. I've known him for over 30 years. He's very professional and he cares about people. Steve has worked six days a week sometimes 15 hour days and the last thing he wants to hear is that you want to save $20 buying contact lenses from an Internet company if that's what you want let them give you the prescription who knows maybe you'll need an eye surgeon in a few decades after you ruin your eyes. I highly recommend Sharp vision and Dr. Gaudio and Steve and their mother who is there helping at 90 years old. It's a real family business. I travel from Eastern Long Island twice a year for my family to get contacts and glasses from the Gaudio family a.k.a. Dr. Wu and his team are exceptional! I recently visited for Scleral contact lenses and was incredibly impressed. Dr. Wu was thorough, very detailed, and patiently answered all of my questions. Most importantly, he successfully fitted me with comfortable and effective lenses. I deeply appreciate Dr. Wu's advocacy for patients with Keratoconus, including his efforts and support to have treatments covered by insurance companies. For those without insurance, I found his pricing to be very reasonable. Finding an eye care professional with the expertise and patience to fit specialty lenses for Keratoconus can be a real challenge. Look no further, I highly recommend Fresh Pond Eye Care! read more

For the first time in many years I have well-chosen lenses in my glasses. I can see with them perfectly from the very beginning. It has never been like this before. There was always been problems . Dr. Wu is a young, cultured, kind and knowledgeable person. I am really glad that I discovered Dr. Wu and he has opened Fresh Pond Eye Care on Ridgewood.Office is very clean, all devices after each patient are cleaned and disinfected with wipes, even the frames after each patient trying on are disinfected. After seeing a retina specialist, I found out I have drusenoid deposits, which I've been assured are nothing to worry about. Do not go here. Optical Warehouse is across the street and much better.

It's been SIX YEARS since I last got my eyes checked and since I got a new prescription. I was so excited to find this spot and get my lenses replaced on my first ever pair of real glasses, which I saved up for for my birthday last year. I used to only wear glasses from eyebuydirect. I trusted Visual Ophthalmology in Ridgewood to send my glasses to the lab and return them after the allotted 3-week period with the new prescription in the lenses. INSTEAD of receiving what I paid for and a service I trusted them to carry out, they gaslit me into believing my glasses were in the lab and that I was simply waiting for an update. I had been calling them for weeks asking for an update. They said they would call me back. I spoke to multiple women who work in the front area (all of them were rude and dismissive), and they all told me they would help me and give me an update, only to completely ignore me afterward. No call back, nothing. Then one of the women in the front named Felica gave me the personal number of another employee to ask about an update for my glasses rather than calling the "lab" herself and finding out what was happening. After getting frustrated going 4 weeks without glasses, a thing I actually need, and receiving a person's personal phone number just to fight for an update, I decided to request that my glasses be returned to me and that I would go to another office and attempt to get the lenses replaced there. After informing FeliCa that I wanted to do just that, she put me on hold for 10 minutes and then informed me that my glasses were right there in the office the entire time. So for 4 WEEKS, I went without glasses because they never, not once, sent them to the lab. Not even 2 weeks ago, when I called for an update, did any of the 4 different women I spoke to decide to send my glasses to the lab or inform me that someone had never sent them. I just went in today to pick them up, and they have new scratches that were not there before. Everyone in the office was giving me an attitude when I asked why they were never sent to the lab in the first place. They told me that it was the mistake of someone else who worked there previously and was fired. How is that the case when I spoke to multiple people over the course of 3 weeks and everyone was disorganized and unable to give me a clear answer? Obviously, the entire office is incapable of doing their very, very simple job. On top of that, they returned my co-pay to me in cash and gave it to me with so much attitude, and not like it was the money I paid to get my lenses replaced. I was spoken to with so much hostility when I was being respectful and patient the entire time, giving them so much space to just give me an update on my glasses. The girl in the front with the dark hair who speaks Spanish is also wearing Meta glasses, which should not be allowed. There are children and people who do not consent to being recorded walking in there for medical services, and her potentially filming them is a huge violation of everyone's privacy. I'm also positive my insurance was billed for my glasses, which I never received, and I will be filing a formal complaint with my insurance and with the appropriate New York State regulatory agency for their horrible handling of this situation. I will also be reporting the billing issue if I find that my insurance was billed for services or products that were never actually provided. I have never even received my prescription so I can replace my glasses at my own convenience. They literally did not care about my experience, my glasses, my prescription, or my ability to receive the services I paid for whatsoever. I read all the reviews and thought this was a great office to get my vision checked after 6 years of avoiding it, but now I would never ever recommend Vision Ophthalmology to anyone. I have told many people about my experience here and everyone is amazed at their incompetence.
