What is going on with fresh thyme at 8680 W Sura Ln, Greenfield, WI 53228 ? I used the self check out last night and to my surprise the option of cash was taken away, there is Zero reason for this since the self check outs given the option of cash or credit/debit. Please don't suggest I use regular check out because the topic is Self Check Out. Please DO NOT make this choice permanent because if so you will lose not just (me but my friends , coworkers and family as customers). In all honesty, it's pricey. The merchandise and groceries are all excellent quality, but....it's pricey. Brand names are not a thing here....they have some, but not a lot. While they do carry some junk food, they try to make it the healthy kind...you know the buzz words....all natural, organic, locally sourced. They have a good selection of meats, fruits, and vegetables, as well as a sushi counter. They carry alcohol, pet food, cosmetics and toiletries. I buy my cat food here, because she is a princess and deserves it (*insert sarcasm and an eyeroll), but also frozen single serve meals for work, and baguettes, among a few other things. Love this store and location in a strip mall! The staff is friendly enough and prices are pretty solid, especially if you shop the sales. Great options on frozen seafood and meats as well as produce. I bought the NY Strip steaks offered on special this Thursday. They were the worst cuts of a NY strip steak I have ever bought, anywhere. Very tough and had a massive layer of fat and tallow. Definitely will never buy any meat from this place again. Grilling was supposed to be best way to cook these. I'd say slow cooker to make them less chewy. read more

Every time I go to the Freshtyme store in Greenfield, and it's close to a holiday, you can't get any ice. How many times does this have to happen before someone thinks to order more...get more ice coolors or something. It's a store that does not go the extra mile to see that items that are in demand at certain times are there. If this is an issue and your customers get upset...DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. I love this location for so many reasons! Being a product of a grocer (my dad) I can't just shop anywhere. I have multiple places I go based on so many things. We know the cost of food is really high right now so I have to be honest if you're trying to save money on food, this prob isn't the place to do it. That being said I am a firm believer you get what you paid for. Fresh Thyme Market is exactly that, a market grocery store. Fresh, organic ingredients. Local items. The people who work here embody that culture and take pride in what they do and what they sell. As a former deli worker I just want to take a moment to shout out the DELI DEPARTMENT!!! Y'all!!! They rock. They have a system that works! And when you ask for shaved meat, no one rolls an eye. No one huffs or grumbles. It's lovely!!! Also can I get a hell yeah for Boars head?! They do an amazing job here and I just want them to know! If you have a question or need anything, anyone is willing to stop what they're doing and help you. I couldn't find miso paste to save my life the other day and this woman made a call and then found exactly where it was and it took like 30 seconds. I really was thankful for that. I can't speak for other locations but this one is great. At checkout my kid loves to tell them where the tractor is. A little surprise for the little ones if they find it! I hadn't been here in quite awhile but I usually really like their meat and produce. It was our 25th wedding anniversary so I bought 5 small lobster tails From the seafood counter. I thought they seemed a little light when the guy handed them to me but didn't really think much of it as I was focused on shopping. Went right home - 5 minutes away and put them in the fridge for about 2 hours. When the grill was getting ready I got them out and opened them up. Phew they were rancid and disgusting. I promptly took them back and the the rude cashier made me wait in line again. They refunded my money but an apology or a ring like they cared would have been nice. Ick read more

I never knew that a Fresh Thyme market existed in Wisconsin! This place is great but it's basically your average Fresh Thyme store. They had plenty of Sambazon energy drinks but I was ultimately disappointed that they had no soups made right in the middle of the day. Store is clean and well stocked. It's decent supplemental shopping. The store is small and products are limited, but they have most of the basics, but not nearly as extensive as a full size supermarket. They do have: Deli, meat, produce, bakery, well equipped salad bar, also meals to take to work or home. If you're looking for healthier food options this might be your place. It's fairly easy to get in and out quickly. FT isn't cheap but it's not outrageous. Many have made the comparison to whole foods and trader Joe's and I would agree, it's somewhere in the middle with prices and products. It's definitely not like Pick n Save or Meijers. This store is new, clean, and the staff is friendly. On Wednesdays they honor the last day of the old sale and the start of the new sale. I like their rotisserie chicken. It's a noticably smaller bird and pricier than other places but it has good flavor and yields a nice bone broth. On Wednesdays it's $5. If you primarily shop at the big chain supermarkets this may not be your jam, but Fresh Thyme is certainly worth checking out. read more

I'm planning one of my fresh pizzas and I needed some fresh toppings for a shallots, portobello and sausage pizza which I knew I could get here. This store is more convenient than the Brookfield location but the parking lot entrance is a mess in front of the store. This is just like the Brookfiel location, a carbon copy. There is a hot pizza section if your hungry while shopping, $1.99 a slice or use the fresh pizza bar and build your own pizza for take home. Fresh seafood case with a nice variety, fresh meat and sausage case and a nice deli section. The fresh produce section is decent and I like the bulk mushrooms, I don't need a pound for one pizza. There is a nice salad bar, olive bar, bulk oils, bulk pasta, bulk nuts, bulk candy, juice bar and premade food like heat and serve, rotisserie chicken etc. The produce usually gets me in and I end up with a basket full of other items. read more

I think it is a really neat little store! Fresh Thyme has a lot of great products that you just don't find at the larger grocery chains. I especially like the produce! Everything is really fresh, tastes great, and seems to last a bit longer than the same stuff from other stores. You also can't beat the prices which are for the most part lower than elsewhere. The older lady with the short reddish brown hair in vitamins is horribly rude. I was looking at some products on the vitamin shelf and she quickly brushed by me pushing her way in front of me and where I was looking, it was to close for comfort on a regular day much less during Covid where I expect a 6 ft rule for employees. I stood up straight so the cart would not hit me and I actually had to say excuse me as she did not. When I couldnt find what I was looking for I asked her. She gave me a look like I was disturbing her work time. A straight dead pan stare they quickly walked over to the mineral and pointed while stRing at me "here, its right here" then walked away from me. I was shocked. Wow, clearly a VERY disgruntled employee and she isnt even able to hide it when customers engage her. Its not like I wanted a new friend but she could at least be a pleasant person when working with the public, I wont be shopping at this one again, the ladies at Brookfield are delightful. read more

If Trader Joe's and Whole Foods had a baby it would be Fresh Thyme. Their selection is a mash-up of TJ's, Whole Foods and your standard Pick N Save. It's smaller and has typical items with a healthier spin. They have all the usual things like a deli, salad bar, meat and fish counter and so on. Their sale prices and sale items are also on par with everyone else in the market. So far, I dig it. If your open to new grocery store chains, check it out! read more

Fresh Thyme in Greenfield, WI review. I normally like this place. it has friendly employees and they are very helpful...but, there were two things that many people don't care for...1) your self svs area. most people want a cashier...especially if disabled or older. some want to pay by cash or check. 2) your managers/supervisors...if the owner of Freah Thyme took a look at complaints, it's mainly their managers. Just a few days ago there was a lady that had a Fresh Thyme coupon and gave to cashier. Cashier got a manager. Manager was rudely asked the lady where she got coupon and she stated a cashier a month ago. The manager said no you didn't..How would she know? Lady said I'm not a liar. Manager stated she didn't call her one. Lady stated yes you did indirectly by saying more than once I didn't get it from a cashier a month ago. Manager was rude, loud and kept saying "I've been here 30 years and Blah, Blah....Lady stated I don't care, why are you being so bitchy? Lady could of used another word but the manager was in fact acting badly. Manger took the lady's groceries away and told her to leave by not until she had to make. scene in front of everyone...nd then said to the lady you should be ashamed. of what I'd like to ask...Lady wasn't rude your manager was. I can see why not too many people are going to that store. With managers like that, who would. If the owners of these stores read reviews, they'd realize their managers are one of the problems. Are people who shop here nose-blind? I visited this place for my first and my last time. Three areas of the store were so pungent in smells and one of them gave me what I would call an asthma attack and I do not have asthma. Front part of store, bakery was a sour odor. Almost like sour dough starter spilled on the floor. Produce had rotting banana and potato smell. It was near the dairy area that put me over. I cannot deserve the small because as soon as it hit me I could no longer breathe correctly. I had to run to the front of the store and catch my breath. Thank goodness for the water cooler, which helped me overcome the problem. I am disgusted with how bad this place smelled throughout the store. read more

We like the East Side local and missed the grand opening yesterday. There was a lot of traffic and gawkers looking for good deals. We know what they have so we made our way to the butcher counter and got some Poke' for our Poke" bowls. It is just like the East side local pretty much with the set up. The bakery, pizza, cheese, sushi, and meat, is around the perimeter. They had some good deals on cheese $1.99/lb for a brick of cheddar. Pasta sauce for .99cents. Produce was the same with deals to be had. Corn looked really good. This is a bit out of our way and we probably won't shop at this local unless we have business on 76th. It's right by Steinhaffels. Hiccups are to be expected anytime a business opens. They give you a $5.00 off a $25.00 purchase digital coupon when you sign up for the app. I like the prices better here than the Outpost. The meats are usually a good value too. We go here mostly for supplemental shopping. They were also giving out free shopping bags today too with events on their website for the opening. read more

This isn't my local fresh thyme but I was in the area and on a hunt for a specific item. I called the store and the person who answered was very helpful and checked on the item for me. Then she transferred me to the grocery manager so I could ask about the item being restocked. He (I want to say Tim) was so friendly! He held the item I needed and checked his email while I was on the phone so he could get me specifics on when he ordered the product and when he expected it to be in again. When I got to the store he was available within mins and gave me my item and and another update on the restock of the item. He went above and beyond and that is rarely seen anymore. I needed panko and ground beef...and ended up with so much more! This was my first time here so I was standing near the meat counter looking around. Dan, one of the staff members, came and offered to help me find something. I explained I was new to the store so was just looking. He proceeded to show me around, helped me find what I needed and offered his opinions on some other products. I ended up with a lot more than I intended to but all of the things I purchased have been delicious and fairly priced. Sorry, sad to say I have to update my review. The cashiers are still friendly but it's the workers on the floor and at the fish counter that I have been disappointed with. I guess they changed the policy now where you have to still pay the full price of the weight of the fish with the skin even if they remove the skin for you. That's ridiculous. I have stopped buying my fish from here. The people on the floor are no longer as helpful as they used to be. Im guessing new employees! You guys were so great in the beginning. =( read more

Horrible check out experience. Store was cute and I like some of what they had to offer but that first impression was sad. The 2 cashiers were talking to each other and when my daughter and I approached with our groceries our cashier rolled her eyes and silently took our items. I have gone twice now since they opened. I really like grocery shopping( Weird...I know) so I was excited to check this out. I really like their selection. They carry a lot of the same items as Whole Foods. The prices that I checked were a bit lower than WF too. Their supplement section is huge. They also have a great selection of bulk items. I ordered something from the deli and was surprised at how nice and friendly the employees were. When I checked out, the card reader crashed. Finally the manager(I think) took me to another register and got me out of there as efficiently as possible. The only other hiccup was that I got two rolls from the self service area that weren't labeled or priced. On my second visit back, I noticed that some rolls weren't labeled. I guess that is just an oversight and this place did just open. Nice, roomy store with a great parking lot. I will definitely be back. read more

I was really enjoying this store, until about one month ago...I bough chicken sausages and polish from the butcher...opened to cook later that day and the smell was bad. Stocks some items that are tough to find elsewhere, such as vegetarian meat substitutes and a good assortment of organic produce, but isn't as overwhelming or pricey as Whole Foods. I find myself going to Fresh Thyme more often now that they are past the initial growing pains (their checkout process is a lot faster than it was the first weeks they were in business). And today I was blown away by the superior customer service in the bakery department -- I needed sourdough bread, and there was none on the shelf. A staffer saw me searching, and asked if I needed help. When I explained what I needed, she said they had some ready to bake, and offered to bake some for me. WOW, very impressive! I love this place because it offers cheap produce and has so many gluten free options! They sell their own name brand goods and they are seriously awesome. It's like whole foods but 10x cheaper. I love Fresh Thyme. They carry organic fruits and vegetables, grassfed half and half, and herbal supplements rarely available in other stores in the County. They also carry croissants, bulk nuts and grains, and they make fresh single-slice or whole vegetable pizza in their oven while you wait. They have an olive bar, salad bar, and purified water coolers. It is an okay place, bought raspberries from there that had gone bad by the next day. Cashier we had was extremely unfriendly and crabby. If you don't like your job, quit. I really like this place. It is large enough to have an abundance of veggies, fruits, organics, groceries, a meat counter, etc. but it is not so large that you waste time trying to figure out where things are. I have always seen an employee around to ask questions. Everything looks very appealing and "fresh," and there seems to be enough items not in short supply that have been advertised on special or sale priced. Parking is abundant but my complaint is when you wheel the grocery cart to your car, you really have to search for a place to return it. Need more "cart corrals." read more

Today was the grand opening, so it was crazy as expected. It is on par with Outpost, perhaps more commercial. They had samples but a number of areas were dirty and unkempt. I experienced a unpleasant exchange with a lady who was handing out samples for sprouted bread. She was friendly at first, but when I went to grab a sample and realized there were seeds in it which I could not have, she rolled her eyes, acted annoyed and dismissive and told me to throw it out, pushing a garbage can toward me and then ignoring me for the remainder of the exchange. I can say without a doubt I will never purchase that product. I'm not sure if she worked for the store or for the bread company, but regardless this is still under the store's roof and their responsibility. Rude behavior should never be excused.
