First time at Costco- normally I go to Sam's but had a need for a membership at Costco for brand work that I do. I like the variety of some of the items huge selection of Amylu products! I bought a few and really great price. I was also impressed by how many samples! Like so many of them! Woah- tried the cafe out as well since normally I'd grab a hotdog combo on the way out at Sam's so needed to compare. I think I like Sam's better honestly first the drink is larger and has Pepsi products and then the hotdog comes in a bag which makes it had to add toppings and take to go. I liked the process of ordering on your own though and just waiting for the number to be called that was nice. It's was definitely very busy! So felt a little rushed by other customers at times but not sure if that was just Sunday opening time normal vibes or just today. read more

It caused me to re-organize my items in my hand and beg them because he was onto the next person quickly. Of course on a Sunday morning there is high volume. I tried this location as I was out of town and this one was right on my way home. I just love how all the stores have very similar layouts because that gives me the opportunity to find what I'm looking for without having to search forever for the items that I need. The store was very clean organized and even though it was really busy there was no delays on going through the checkouts and it was able to get what I needed fairly quick read more

I like most costco's, the surface is really good, great staff. For me though my family has gotten smaller so I don't need as many bulk items anymore. But I keep my membership because the gas prices are lower, and every now and then you can find really good deal on computers and clothing. Some food is not served in bulk and so that can work for me. So I'll be back at this location over and over again. read more

Coffee Cake Muffin: I won't deny that muffins are generally delicious, but I'm not the biggest muffin connoisseur. My rationale being they tend to have nearly as many calories as cupcakes, but no frosting (I like to get the most for my caloric dollar). For example, a Nothing Bundt Cakes Snickerdoodle bundtlet has 660 calories and this muffin has between 660-740 calories (unofficial sources as nothing official from Costco). Calories aside, this was about as good as a muffin can get. The muffin top was crisp, crunchy, and packed with sugary cinnamon streusel pieces. On the inside, it was perfectly soft and moist. I loved the flavor as it was a sweet cinnamon (as opposed to spicy/burning) with hints of butter. I am a big Costco fan, and the first reason is the workers are great. It's what happens when the CEO makes less and the front line workers make what they are worth. Second, the prices are great. Third, there are more human cashiers than self check out. Third, it's a great place for lunch. There aren't many negatives, but since they concentrate on bulk deals you can't get a small portion of anything and the best deals are ephemeral. They had an amazing low price on cases of 5oz name brand cat food cans and I could only fit 5 in my Fiat 500 and even that hurt my back. But still, I wanted to get some more but they were gone within a week. The other negative is more serious, there are crowds of people shopping at any Costco and this one is busier than others. Generally a good experience at the Pewaukee, WI store, but I recently bought a bag of the Valle Nuevo organic frozen mango, and the mango smelled and tasted strongly like chlorine... I never had that issue before with this same brand, but if Valle Nuevo changed how they are processing their mango to the point it is almost inedible, I would recommend they drop this brand. Even on a bad day, I'm such a fan of Costco. I came here very specifically for a vacuum that I'd been eyeing for a while and just happened to be on sale for $80 off. I went on the last day of the sale (my mistake for waiting so long) and they were out (no worries, I found one at another location). That said, since I was there, I decided to shop around a bit. $200 later, I had a cart full of high quality goodness (as is typically the case with any of my trips to Costco). What I love: +Costco's premade dinner are the best. Their pesto salmon is a family fave. As is their mac & cheese, caesar salad, and chicken noodle soup. Really, you can't go wrong with anything in their premade dinners department. +Their produce is always top notch. We've been loving their apple selection lately but all summer long alternated between a flat of peaches and a flat of nectarines. Their berries are also always a great buy. +Cheese, cheese, all the glorious cheese +Their holiday/seasonal decoration selection is always great. +And, obviously, I'm a fan of their selection of home appliances and cleaning supplies (like the aforementioned vacuum). What I don't love: +About this location in particular? Their parking lot. Why the madness? Why the corner entrance and short parking aisles? My wife and I bought an AGIO MCKINNON 5 piece outdoor set. BRANDON, A floor staff member was great in helping us choose the set and load it on 2 flat bed carts for the checkout. After purchase 2 associates CHARLIE and CAMERON assisted in loading the new furniture onto the roof racks of our two cars for transport home. What great service! I love Costco. I wish there was one Closer to where I live. I know Sometimes I purchase more than What we can eat with the fresh fruit and veggies. But the quality is so good. From clothes, appliances, office supplies, tv's to the pantry items, fresh fruit and veggies, meat selection etc. it is hard to beat. I just noticed they even have caskets and urns! I use to get my pharmacy there too but we Moved further away so it is not Convenient to drive to Costco pharmacy, especially when you aren't feeling well and need to pick up meds. It is About a 70 mile round trip. I love that they are up on new products and have food for all kind of diets. I had to go gluten free and am happy with the products they are getting in. read more

I always have the best shopping experience at Costco. They have some of the best produce (can't beat the quality of their avocados!), and even clothes (I'm a big fan of DKNY, Tommy Hilfiger, and Nautica). I highly appreciate the service provided by Costco and its staff. Right now, I specially appreciate that they have a "must wear a face mask" policy. Specifically, this is for their Hearing Aid Department: They knew this test was for my 85-year-old mom for whom it is challenging to move. You see, you need to come in three times during this process: 1. A pre-test assessment 2. Test day 3. Pick up device day They scheduled with me by phone, and in their "new" system, they supposedly entered the three dates. Then, we came to the first one. It went OK; we came back another day for the second, and they had no record of the appointment (yet they also had the third in the system). It was such agony to have put my mom through the physical ordeal of going there only to have them dishonestly say, "Oh, we're sorry. It's our new system." Wrong COSTCO: I have learned too many "new systems" and if the first and third date were entered, but not the second--human error is to blame and not the computer. My father was so upset by it all, and now I do not know if they will ever feel comfortable going somewhere for such a test. BTW: You know how all these companies conveniently allow you to give them your money online such as to join the club or order, and yet make it impossible to cancel online? Well, COSTCO is one such club. Thus, I waited and waited on hold on the phone only to repeartedly be told it was not possible to cancel the membership right away and that we'd have to talk again another day--REALLY. We've been going to the Costco in Menominee Falls but this location is definitely superior. The wine selection is at least double what MenFalls has - I found an amazing deal on a French cremant for $10/bottle - that brand is $15/bottle at Ray's. Stock up time! I'm relatively new to the whole Costco thing but I've been very impressed with the prices on stuff we formerly would have bought at Target - paper products, cleaning supplies, OTC medicines, etc. Prices here seem to be 30-60% less depending on the item and the brand, with the best deals on the Kirkland house brand. This location seems to stock nicer things than MenFalls - there's some fine jewelry, higher end wines and of course the impressive electronics section. It's a bit farther to drive, but I can see us making the extra trip to come here. Of course like all other Costcos they sweat you HARD to upgrade your membership which I find annoying. read more

I love this place. Go on a weekend and go hungry. There are always food demos going on and if those don't fill you up, you can end your trip at the hot dog stand....a quarter pound hot dog or brat and a 20 ounce soda for $1.50! Plenty of good deals going on and they carry some of the newly released movies and books. The membership deals are reasonable too. Sign up for the executive membership and if, after the first year, you don't earn enough cash back, they will refund your money to a regular membership. I really like store and have been a member for several al years. One department I really like I is optical. Dr. Nina Is the best, she give a really good exam. Just note the Dr. has her own practice and you don't have to have membership to see her. You do have to have a membership to buy glasses or contacts. My husband and I got four pairs of glasses for 750. The store in geeneral has a lot of great deals On most everything. The reason for the four and not five star is the staff. My disabled daughter was paying for a purchases after shopping for Christmas presents and they wouldn't accept her money because it was my card. We share a membership and I told the cashier that she forgot her card. He was rude and we were both embarrassed. The worst part was he wouldn't stop repeating himself it was awful. read more

Stopped there to purchase a gift card for my son, who is a member. I have done this many times in the past without issue. This time the associate who was manning the self check (where I had previously gotten the gift cards) would not sell me a gift card. I showed her my son's account information & a copy of the receipt from my latest gift card purchase. She said oh, he was a manager & way above my pay grade. She said because I was not a member, I could not shop there. I told her I was not shopping, just getting a gift card. She told me my son had to be there in order for me to buy him a gift card. I said that kind of defeats the purpose to go with him, have him buy the gift card & then hand it back to him. I was on my way out, but stopped at the membership desk because I saw a manager there. The associate, who I got, didn't know so she told me to wait for the manager. Meanwhile a very nice member & I started chatting. I told her I just wanted to buy a gift card for my son. I showed her a picture of my son who is in law enforcement. I had the $100 in my hand & said it was sad that they didn't want my money. Since the manager was still busy, I told the nice woman to go ahead of me. After her transaction, she turned to me & said, I will buy the gift card for you. I asked her if she was sure & thanked her profusely. That was so kind of her! I didn't get her name, but am so grateful for her help. It is a shame that a complete stranger was more helpful than the paid workers at Costco. We walked out together & I did not "shop" there as the employees were so afraid I would without being a member. After this experience, I would never get a membership at Costco. read more

I love me some Costco! Beware anyone coming in trying to use your friends membership card, it ain't gonna fly here. They will call you and pretty aggressively at that. But beyond that little tip, I'm super glad to have ended up with a membership. They have a endless new-to-me foods to try. The samples are always a good idea, and my husband and I usually grab a hot dog and/or brat to walk around and eat while we shop. Cheapest date ever, or maybe not when you buy bulk food boxes for two people... but no complaints here. Costco has great selections of everything, especially organic products. We love to buy their five dozen box of eggs and the frozen stir fry veggies are a steal as well. We can always snag chicken and fish there for a great price and the pre-made meals are all worth trying. Plus they give you the difference in your membership cost if you don't make your money back in the first year. Beware if you go on a Sunday, the place is a zoo. This is SAMs competition. Competition is supposed to be good. When one place adds a service, the other usually matches the service to stay competitive. Or when does a remodel, the other does a remodel too. Same with products and services. SAMs is slipping. Big box wholesale priced store. Clean organized not too busy at times. Easy in and out near the hwy. The staff here are nice and returns are easy with a receipt. Selection and quality are pulling me away from SAMs Club. Membership dues are coming up soon and it seems like the Values are better for gas here since SAMs on Calumet doesn't offer gas?? Why? Maybe they should consider lowering the annual membership fee since we get less?? That's right SAMs I'm talking to you!!! As Reagan said to Gorbachev. "Take down your...... Prices. " Cash debit or Amex only??? Only one gripe about payment Cash or debit. Or Amex credit cards. Not everyone has Amex cards since they charge annual fees. Not only is Costco good for your usual grocery items, their pharmacy and tire department is a must. Anyone still going to Walgreens for their prescriptions is paying way too much. Usually they have sales on tires every couple of months. They have free tire rotations, patching of tires, etc...for the life of the tire. The customer service is so much better too than other tire places. Brandon is the department's manager and he is always super helpful. Go for the Executive membership. It costs more, but they guarantee you will get the cost of the membership refunded back. read more

I have been to the "other" warehouse store by me and it doesn't compare the the quality I noticed from Costco. The store was very clean, the parking lot was organized, the staff seemed very efficient and the sample people were soooo nice. The only negative I experienced was unfortunately the customer service desk. I don't know if they work on commission but it sure seems like it when they try to sell you the most expensive membership and when you tell them you are not interested, they turn extremely rude. This happened with two different service reps, the last one being a woman named Catherine. She basically argued with me as to why I should pay more and when I didn't want to treated me as if "I" was the dumb one. Uh, really?! Left being very irritated with that whole signing up process. Found some great buys, some good deals and some awesome food so I will be back for sure. read more

Oh Costco, how did I ever live before you came to SE Wisconsin? I remember our first meeting as if it were just yesterday. My husband insisted that we sign up for a membership even before the store opened. "Why?", I asked. "We have a Sam's Club membership already. Isn't it the same thing?" I recall walking into your bright, clean store with isles of fantastic merchandise and I soon realized it was not the "same thing" at all. We love our membership and use it several times a month. As we have a toddler, we buy everything from diapers to juice boxes for her, and we knock out as much of our grocery list here as possible. We love the produce quality and prices. They have numerous organic offerings in this department as well. The meat department is head and shoulders above Sam's Club. When you feel like a splurge they even have prime New Your Strip steaks that are the best I have made at home. We buy tons of meat and seafood from Costco. Having a party? Order your cake and sandwich platters from here. We have hosted several parties with just offerings from their prepared foods and bakery items, and people rave about the quality. The wine, beer and liquor selection is wide enough that we are always finding new things to try. Do not be shy of the Kirkland brand names. We find the quality of the store brands to equal to the named brands in almost every case. From batteries to vodka, we will try any Kirkland brand. Have no fear, if you try a Kirkland brand, and don't like it, you can return it for a full refund. The only two items on our Kirkland return list are the toilet paper (sorry, I just prefer Charmin) and the Lobster Bisque soup (yuck is all I can say). In both situations, refunds were given quickly and without a hassle. The store is packed on weekends, but come early to avoid long checkout lines. Also, come hungry, its hard to resist a $1.59 hot dog and soda combo on the way out. read more

This review is regarding the tire center. I stopped today to question whether my tires that need to be replaced with 22,000 miles on them were under warranty. After being told they could take a look at them on Saturday at 10am I started to question how long this assessment would take. David at the service desk was extremely rude and condescending the manager Jake was less pleasant than that. In the end the assessment took 3 minutes and there was no way they were going to stand behind the product they sold less the 1year. They do have a bent up clip board thought from Jake tossing it around the service counter. Do not buy tires here. read more

I was at the Costco in Pewaukee, WI this morning and I had a horrible experience with the employee working in the self-checkout area. I have been here many times before and have never had an issue with anyone before. I was checking out and my boyfriend was with me, and he wanted to pay for half of my groceries. When he went to pay this woman stopped him in the rudest way telling me that if he is not a member he couldn't pay. Then she pointed at this sign like I was an idiot and tried to cancel what we had just scanned. I told her to leave it because there was no point in cancelling it and I would have him transfer me the money. I asked what does it matter? It's my membership and my groceries, what do you care if he pays for it on my behalf? She then started babbling on about how she isn't going to get any raises this way, and some other stuff that was muffled since she was wearing a mask. Then started talking about us to another woman standing behind us. This was absolutely unnecessary. I had my boyfriend stand there and transfer the money to my account just so he could help me out. It was absolutely embarrassing that she had to bring another person into the situation. She could of have been professional, and kind, but instead ruined our experience with her attitude. I will be canceling my membership as this has left a very poor impression on the both of us. Being a manager myself, I would never tolerate having an employee who would make someone feel the way this woman made us feel. read more

This review is for the Costco tire center. The customer service is horrendous! I would give it zero stars if I could. The people working in customer service get five stars because they are working under absolutely horrid conditions. They are overwhelmed by customers. The line is almost always four deep With customers looking to get tires put on or asking questions about tires. The poor customer service person Is answering customer questions and the phone at the same time. They have zero help from Costco management. They are all alone on an island surrounded by angry customers. Costco should put at least three other customer service reps on duty to answer questions. I've had some good experiences at this Costco, but some of the bad ones are pathetic. Today they were sampling organic fudgsicles. I tried one and asked where I could grab a box. I went to the freezer he directed me to and they were out. The sampler said he'd have to check for more in back. He had 4 or 5 boxes set aside for sampling sitting right next to him, I'm not sure the policy as to why he cannot give me one of those. After waiting 10min the sampler returned saying the system shows they have some, but the managers are in a meeting and he won't be able to access them until their meeting is done. WHAT? Then why can't he give me one of the boxes he has set aside and replace it once the managers get him the stock that they have? On top of that, why are you sampling something people cannot purchase from you? I had to get back to work and didn't have time to wait around for this. I've also had instances where the store stops carrying a product. I know this is bound to happen, but they don't always handle explaining it the best. I loved the organic Path Of Life hash browns that included a lot of seasonings they used to carry, and a manager tells me they no longer make the item and that is why they stopped carrying them. I go and find the exact same product still being made, even the company that makes it said they had no plans to discontinue it. It's one thing if you decide to stop carrying something, but please don't lie to me. On top of that they try to push me to buy dried potatoes in a cardboard carton saying they're basically the same thing. I have a lot of great instances with most of the people who work here, but there are times they could do a lot better. read more

I can't even express how rude the employees are at this Costco. They have an attitude as if they have a monopoly and we all HAVE to shop at their store. It is horrendous how I was told off by the clerk that I faced the 4 wine bottles the wrong way on the conveyer belt. She said she was only helping ME so that next time I would know how to do it. Last time I checked I didn't work at Costco. There is never any help in the aisles and at check out the employees are freaked out and obsessed with moving people out like cattle. I used to live down the road from this location - but it's still conveniently located for me near work. It's not TOO far off the freeway and very close to Capitol Drive for those coming from MKE. I've been a member for several years and have been pleased. Nice open layout, clean store, friendly staff, plenty of parking, and good selection. It's my go-to when I am helping to host a group or party! I'm also a HUGE fan of their bakery, especially the custom cakes. The quality is outstanding and they're less than $20 for a very large cake. Be prepared to snack while you shop - and I highly recommend the fat free frozen yogurt as a nice treat for the road. One of the only drawbacks to Costco - don't fall in love with any specific item! You can't guarantee it will be there next time. So, if you see something you like, or really enjoy a certain product...stock up. New item I love: The Kirkland Prosecco. It's $6.99 a bottle and pretty darn tasty. Excellent for mimosas! read more

It just felt like a big Wal-Mart, which it is. And I really hate Wal-Mart. The pricing is all lower than any other stores around. The staff is very willing to help out. 5 Stars! Costco! Holy-eee crap, this place is huge. I recall (vaguely) being at a Sam's Club years back, and this place beats the PANTS off of Sam's. Not to mention, I have a life-long disdain of anything Wal*Mart related, so any way I can avoid Sam's or Wal*Mart, I'm all for it. First of all, this place is super clean. Lots of friendly staff throughout this massive store, asking if you need help, would you like to try a sample? (why yes, of course I would!) and telling you to have a great day. That's awesome. Friendly people who want you to have a good experience are a good thing. Happy workers who not just sample - but describe the samples, and chat with you about cheese, are awesome. Lots of selections here. Electronics, office supplies, random household items, gigantic stuffed teddy bears (54"!), pallets of Calvin Klein underwear, big screen TV's, fresh baked bread (on site!), a table full of (nicely folded) Dockers, huge coolers with good produce... I could go on and on. Honestly I went in with a list because I had a feeling I would spend more money than I intended. I wish I would have brought more money because the deals were a-callin'. As Mike P. said, it's not only fun place to shop, but it's a smart place to shop. If you bring your calculator and bust down the prices, it's very easy to see within your first few stops in the store - you are going to save like a rockstar. And the shopping carts really are like monster trucks. Overall I will be returning. As far as a membership goes, I did not get one. I was able to tag along with my sister for my first outing. We are still considering paying the $55.00 for a yearlong membership. For my husband and myself, it might not make sense for us to pay to get a membership here (I realize how dumb this sounds since I obviously have a loving relationship with Costco already). I can see if people have kids or big houses it would work nicely for them. For us, I'm more about buying just the stuff we need and trying to save. I love this place in a wholly inappropriate amount! The Good: When you go in you don't feel dirty. They have an AMAZING wine selection and the uncooked tortillas are straight up CRACK. I like the fact that they offer rotating samples, it lets you try before you buy, and I often buy because I try. Good selection of organics and the spinach is 1/2 the price almost anywhere else. Their pizzas have become a staple for my sales team's training lunches. I call ahead to order and at $10 each, I can feed 20 people for $50. Their return policy is great! You don't even need the receipt. The Bad: The crowds can be a little rough some days, but the front end crew is really good and manages to burn through the line even when it's really busy. The Ugly: The prices are usually better, but not every time. You still have to compare. And all of those "little" things can add up. "How did it get to $150.00?" is a common question. In short, If it's between Costco and Sams... Costco takes it every time. read more

I have heard lots of good things about Costco from friends, so I finally decided to purchase a membership and check it out for myself. Costco offers 3 levels of membership: Gold Star, Business, and Executive. The Gold Star and Business memberships are $55 per year, and the Executive membership is $110 per year. Since we have the Plus membership at Sam's Club, I decided to go ahead and purchase the Executive membership. There are some similarities to Sam's Club (the warehouse-style layout, the food court area, person checking your receipt at the exit). But there are also some differences. For starters, their liquor department is at least twice the size of Sam's. Among the finds that are here: Johnny Walker Blue Label, Dom Perrigon, and Hennessey. Another thing I noticed: no stuffy uniforms or ugly vests for the employees. Costco also has a gas station (for members only, of course). Their price for gas seemed pretty comparable to other gas stations in the area. But it is a nice convenience that they offer. And one that hubby and I took advantage of after we were done shopping. The staff here is very nice. My husband and I had to stop at the customer service desk to have our pictures added on to our membership cards (I bought our membership online), and the gentleman that helped us was super helpful. Our cashier that rang up our purchases was also very nice, and funny as well. I am looking forward to making more trips to Costco in the future and putting our membership to good use. read more

The store is always stocked, always clean, you can always find employees to help and ask questions and there are always plenty of registers open - there's not much else you can ask of a Costco. The best part about Costco is their sampling, of course, but they're really good about sampling things like they're premade pot pies and cakes and things that you might be wary to buy without first having tried them. I appreciate that they seem to be aware and do thoughtful sampling and aren't just trying to sell me frozen hamburgers. Try to avoid going on a Saturday - it's crowded with families who meander and eat all the samples and don't pay attention to their children and block the whole aisle, which can be frustrating. The biggest downside is the frequent turnover of the products they carry - I often find something I love and then the next time I go I'm informed they no longer carry it. With their own Kirkland line, you find that less and less, but it is something to be aware of. Also, there's no coffee grinder despite all the coffee being sold whole bean. Not a huge deal, but something to be aware of. Costco, shall I count thy ways I adore thee? Kirkland vitamin waters that come out to .33 cents a piece. 2 pound blocks of sharp cheddar cheese for 6 dollars. 3 pounds of tortilla chips for 3 bucks. 'Merica. This location is clean, the people are nice, and I do love the samples. It is so nice to be able to shop for paper towels and toilet paper only 3 times per year. My boyfriend and I have a membership and every time we go it looks like we're housing a family of 6, but Costco really is a time and money saver. Kirkland is Costco's brand. Think Roundy's at Pick 'n' Save. BIG difference between the two - quality! I have never been disappointed by Kirkland, and always feel good about buying their products. This location has a nice parking lot and the cheapest gas in town. Can't really think of any ways that Costco has let me down...also, you MUST get their freshly baked ciabatta rolls. We always have a pack in the fridge and the freezer. They turn any old sandwich into a special occasion! read more

I have had many good experiences at Costco but this previous trip inspired me to go download the yelp app and make an account just to write this bad review. A woman by the name of Karen was our cashier and I have never been more upset with an interaction in my life. She was down right rude and completely changed my view of this corporation, as to why they would hire such a negative and mean person. I have had customer service at Walmart that was 10 times better then this...that should say it all. read more
