    Fresh Thyme kiddo snack bin!
    Crystal A.

Our family loves Fresh Thyme! They offer such great sales on both meat and produce. They offer a wide variety of organic, gluten free and natural foods. You can hand press your own peanut butter which is so amazing. Nice meat counter selection! The meat counter bacon is great! This location offers Boars Head lunch meat and cheeses! They do offer a small selection of beer & wine. Restrooms are clean! Staff is always nice and knowledgeable. Lines are never horribly long. How cool is it that they offer kiddos a healthy snack during every visit.

It is a large food store offering a lot of fresh produce, grocery items, and healthy supplements. Clean and well-stocked, it is a nice place for shopping. The staff is friendly and helpful. It has a great selection of vitamins and herbal things. For those conscious of their health, they have fresh produce and organic produce as well. The meat and seafood sections have many choices but not a lot to choose from. I have a chance to visit their stores at many locations and every time our shopping experience was wonderful. The prices are a bit high. Be alerted to fetch good discounts on many items particularly on shrimps offered periodically. Items on sale go quickly with no more expected soon. I highly recommend visiting this store for convenient and clean shopping.

Every time we get a decent rain the parking lot floods in front of the entrance. It's like a small rushing river you can't avoid.

1 star for being innovative, creative and fresh 2 stars for having a huge variety of fresh 'farmers market' local fruits and vegetables 3 stars for having butcher in their meat market, deli with made to order sammies & a bakery with just baked breads and sweets 4 stars for having BULK products - wide ranging from spices to rices and lots in between 5 stars for having cheerful and friendly staff. Lots of corporate staff milling around but I hope when after the grand opening newness wears off it will be just as pleasant Also a great wine selection, HBC, vitamins galore, imported stuff, gluten free goods, floral, olive bar (5.99 lb) and cafe. Prices are decent too! Visit their website for local ad. Nope I don't work here just excited that there's an awesome place for fresh variety groceries nearby without having to drive 25 to 100 miles!

Watermelon that is not ripe and has seeds

Oops. Produce at fresh thyme is so unpredictable. Fresh thyme really needs quality control in this department. I purchased two seedless watermelons on two occasions and on both occasions they have seeds and were rotten. I will stop buying produce at fresh thyme and will make trip to Whole Foods at downtown location

My favorite variety of this Organic Girl salad mix. Not a leaf of iceberg in sight.

8/27/17 update: I came in today for a produce run. Everything looked fresh and colorful, as usual. Friendly employees were busily stocking displays, as usual. I went to a bin of watermelons to pick one out, and something was very wrong. A couple of watermelons had cracked and started rotting in the bin. Not usual! I let an employee know, and he said he would get on it right away. He thanked me for telling him so he could fix it. That's one of the many reasons I love this place! Original review: I have been a regular at my local Fresh Thyme since the week it opened. There are so many reasons to love this store! --They stock a nice variety of both organic and conventional produce, so you have a big selection no matter your preference. --I find something new every single time I walk into the store. Really, I do! This brings me to the only negative thing I can say about Fresh Thyme: Sometimes I'll get hooked on a product and then they'll stop carrying it to make room for something else. It's ok, I understand, they can't carry everything. --The prices are great, especially on produce. --They have a great selection of natural and cruelty-free hair and skin products, including makeup and essential oils. --The store is a reasonable size, so I can get in and out in a flash on my way home from work.

I'm a big fan of this place. However, there are so many great reviews that it seems like a waste to write a lengthy one myself. So, instead I'll tell you about some excellent things I grabbed while we were there. A large portion of what we bought came from the fresh dip case. They have a lot to choose from. We managed to pick three from the dozens that appealed to us. First was a smoked salmon dip. Full of thin sliced smokes salmon, this was my favorite. I'll definitely be going back to get more. Second was chipotle crab dip. This was very tasty. I will tell you that if you are looking for a ton of crab taste you won't find it here. It's delicious, but the chipotle is a bit overpoweringly. Lastly, was a tzatziki dip. This is just basically a dip made from cucumbers. The kind you get with a gyro. It's also quite good. Not something you'd eat by itself though. Lastly we grabbed sauerkraut pierogis, which are a favorite from my childhood. I was excited to find them and even more excited to eat them. The rest of what we bought was produce. Nothing to write home about. Very competitively priced for a specialty store like this though. So, if you are in the market for something organic, fresh, or just something different give these guys a look.

Come to Fresh Thyme for a good time!

Come here and enjoy looking at the wide selection of EVERYTHING they have to offer. I have bought a variety each time I've been. I recommend trying a bottle (three different sizes to choose from) of their orange juice. I also love their sushi, too. They have great employees working on making each combination. I have asked them to make me my favorite twice and they are very friendly to fulfill the task. No soy sauce is even needed, so good! Drive here and try this place out. I only like Earth Fare only because they carry organic cotton balls/swabs, but I come here for anything else. Yes, I've tried their sushi...pretty blah.

Good stuff but kinda pricey, don't expect any help. The employees walked way out of their way to keep from having to help when I was there.

So all of the old reviews that mention Marsh don't apply to this newer store, now called Needler's Fresh Market. I don't know -- I think Needler's is pretty good! It has a little bakery on site (Lemon's Bakery Cafe), which has hot food and baked goods, with seating by big windows that overlook Mass Ave. Beyond the cafe, the rest of the joint is a small grocery store. You'll find a modest produce section with fresh-looking greens and fruit and things. They sell house-made hummus and sushi. The wine section is abysmal, but I did find a bottle of one of my cheapie low-key favorite bottles of Malbec here, so I picked that up. The dried ramen section is also better than it needs to be. The prices seem to be about the same as Kroger and other grocery stores. Checkout was quick and there were several registers open. The only thing is that I entered through the cafe and exited by the registers, so I got a little turned around once I exited. Keep in mind that you can only enter/exit through the cafe at certain hours. They lock that door after a particular time. (I think it's 5 or 6 p.m.)

While I can't say I frequent The Fresh Market, I have come here somewhat regularly enough that I'm…read moresurprised I've never reviewed this SoBro grocery staple that feels perfectly located. The basics: The Fresh Market is a chain started in 1982 by Ray and Beverly Berry in Greensboro, North Carolina. It is still North Carolina-based and remains a somewhat modestly sized chain at 161 stores nationwide. It was very much modeled after European markets and shopping here is, quite simply, a warm and immersive experience. It's luxurious, however, it's actually a very simple market and I'd honestly never be able to shop here and get everything that I needed. I live a simple life. Not that simple. In 2022, Cencosud, a Chilean retail company, acquired a 67% stake in the company. From 2021-2023, the chain was named the best grocery store in America by USA Today. Now then, back to the local scene. The Fresh Market is unique in that it has an attached garage along with its street-level parking. There are accessible spots along the front and an automatic door. The floor plan seems to be wheelchair friendly and I was pleasantly surprised by employees actually being available and enthusiastic. Cash registers were actually nicely arranged. While there are end caps here (those enticing areas next to a cash register designed to get you to buy one last thing), they aren't cluttered and are surprisingly pleasant. I had the chance to stop in before an event at Jazz Kitchen across the street. The Fresh Market is best described as a specialty grocery store rather than a more full-service one. They offer easy meals, fresh foods, restaurant-quality meet/seafood, premium produce, baked goods, deli platters, and more. They also carry flowers. While I didn't really find what I was looking for, everything I found made me smile. It made me realize how much I wanted to return when I had more time to really explore it fully. Everything I saw really seemed to emphasize quality. This location is one of four in Indiana with the others being in Fort Wayne, Evansville, and Carmel. Since I wasn't able to find what I was looking for, I have a hard time going with the full-on five-star review. However, I'll add the disclaimer that I was rushing due to time constraints and very much look forward to returning at a time that allows me to really explore shopping here as it's close to my home and so incredibly pleasant. Grocery shopping usually stresses me out. Here? It actually relaxed me. Four stars for now. I'm sure I'll be forking over that fifth star in the future.

However, I was waiting in line 12 and a child in front of me dropped some coins and was paying for his own cookies. His mother was in front of him, so I helped him try to find his coins and so did she, and there was only one person behind me. Everything moved along relatively smoothly, but when I got up to the register, and the mother and son had left the cashier who is an older lady wanted to complain to me about the woman that her son taking too long and moving in the way, and having their cart still there whatever I told her twice that it was not a big deal and that I didn't care about the weight, but she wanted me to join in with her in demeaning this customer that was before me. It really put a bad taste in my mouth because she was neither pleasant nor kind. I expect a lot more from the cashiers at Meijer because I've never had this experience before, but I was in a really good mood because it was New Year's Eve and she really soured the moment. How rude.

It has been nearly nine years since my original review of this Meijer location, an eagerly…read moreanticipated arrival for me as a longtime fan of Meijer. An updated review is long overdue. First off, the anticipated battle between Wal-Mart and Target has been a non-starter. All three still co-exist within about a mile or so of each other with Target, in particular, blossoming with the growth of Glendale Town Center. While my original review was for opening weekend, this review is now several years in with hours changed, staffing patterns established, and a sense of the mundane established. ADA still tends to be fine (and slightly better than Target in my opinion. The Ben's Pretzels that was here is long gone. The South Bend Chocolate Company spot that was planned never came to be. The area where you can buy pizza is a small dining area at the back of the store with a few tables and a vastly reduced selection. The pharmacy here is still a highlight. I've always appreciated the staff - something I can seldom say about the rest of the store. As a chain, Meijer has a long history of hiring people with disabilities and frequently for more than being a doorway presence. In the battle of the three major stores (Target, Wal-Mart, Meijer), there's no question Target's the winner. I primarily head to Meijer for certain items, for pharmacy (I don't care for CVS pharmacy, a Target partner), and for ice. I also head here because the accessible parking is superior to Target and Meijer has small carts that are easier for a wheelchair user to manage. Customer service? Clearly a Target win. It's not even close. Even at opening, Meijer fell short and it's only gotten worse here. Last night, I visited Meijer in search of a few items. I can almost never find help to reach an item. Customer service continues to carry on personal conversations in lieu of serving people. The self-serve check-out is nearly always unreasonably long. Actual check-out lanes are typically 2-3 available with ungodly long waits. As an ostomy wearer (if you don't know, you probably don't want to), mine actually popped last night because I was in line so long waiting. Seriously. Seriously inexcusable. I live about 2 miles and five minutes from this location. I frequently get in my car and drive all the way to McCordsville because that location is better staffed, friendly, has greater selection, and is immensely cleaner. I realize it's newer, but it's actually been a while and I consistently have a better experience. Yes, I know McCordsville is a small town. Yes, I know 56th and Keystone is a bit rougher area (as evidenced by the fact that security and/or IMPD is consistently a presence here). But, really? If you're going to have this location why not show some pride in it? My feelings of "meh" have given way to feelings of embarrassment to the Meijer chain for this location. I should not have an ostomy pop because I've waited in line for so long trying to check out. The cashier? Perfectly fine (I do tend to view Meijer employees as Stepford employees...incredibly robotic and devoid of personality). Am I done here? Probably not. It's too convenient. However, more and more I'm giving my hard-earned dollars to Target and/or making the trip to McCordsville. This area deserves more than a dirty and under-staffed Meijer with a worse selection. I absolutely want Meijer to continue to be here - I just want this Meijer to be representative of the best of Meijer instead of the worst.
