Also, I was told that I might not get seen because 10 puppies were just brought in. It's like they were looking for an excuse to turn me away. There's a walk-in clinic right up the street. Fast forward a week and she's crying and struggling to go to the bathroom. We thought constipation. After a whole night of pain we called VAC and they said they had no appointments for follow up, it wasn't the antibiotics and to go to urgent care. We ended up at a different vet who first thing palpated her bladder and felt a mass. Then took a simple xray which showed 3 large bladder stones, one of which was blocking her from going pee. I'm no Dr, but wouldn't the original ultrasound from VAC show this? Wasn't that the point of the ultrasound? Even the 2nd vet was baffled that they didn't detect 3 cheese ball sized bladder stones via ultrasound, which I hear provides more detailed information than an X-ray. Anyway, I find that surprisingly incompetent. And even if they couldn't provide the necessary treatment (surgery), I would assume they would have spotted something so obvious and offered a treatment plan. Maybe they didn't even do the ultrasound? But they certainly billed for it. Anyway, boo on you VAC. Don't go here, they messed up big time.

Shout out to Kubo and Lila for always dming or texting me about different Thrift Stores, especially ones that have Coach bags. I have passed by this thrift store many times and have been wanting to stop by. Their clothing selection was a little pricey, but I did find a Ralph Lauren belt for only $1. I haven't cooked a lot lately because gas is crazy expensive, but I plan to go back for some cookware and their dishware and tea sets are Gorgeous. They have shoes for $6 and are extremely organized. Clothing are a bit pricey at $8, but they do help with Operation School Bell which provides new school clothing for children in need, Operation Bear Hug which provides toys for children going through trauma, Operation Gift Box which sends care packages to senior citizens during the holidays. They are staffed by teenage volunteers who promote philanthropic work. I was tired and not wearing good shoes so I will go back again next time!

I came in for a consultation to tighten loose prongs on two diamonds on my wedding band. When I walked in, I was greeted by a saleswoman who took my ring and almost immediately called over a colleague for help. Having two salespeople inspect a ring for 10 minutes, completely misidentify the metal as white gold, and speak with zero confidence was an immediate red flag. It felt less like a high-end jeweler and more like a mass-market commercial chain like Kay Jewelers, where sales volume is prioritized over staff expertise. When they initially quoted me $250 for white gold, I had to correct them and clarify that my band is platinum. Their instant response? "Well, that's going to cost more, $500." Five hundred dollars just to tighten existing prongs, no new metal, no replaced stones. I walked out in shock. A month later, one of the diamonds fell out. Luckily, I found it while cleaning, and my husband found The Diamond Gallery on Yelp. We were greeted by Brandon, who welcomed us with a level of warmth and genuine customer care I didn't experience at Orloff. He inspected my ring within a minute with complete confidence, confirmed it was platinum with intact prongs, and explained they could set the loose diamond, tighten the prongs, reshape the band, and clean it. His quote? $35. Thirty-five dollars! I got my ring back a few days later, and it looks absolutely flawless and I barely recognized it! It was stunning, I was so blown away by the quality of work and exceptional service that I voluntarily paid double his quoted price. I initially visited Orloff because coworkers recommended them, but had I known they would quote an arm and a leg for basic work, I would have saved myself the trip. While I'm sure they have happy customers, their pricing for simple repair work is entirely unreasonable. Save yourself the headache and go to a real, knowledgeable craftsman. Maybe an overstaffed sales floor seems to have diluted the staff's expertise. Having two employees inspect a ring and misidentify it as white gold is a clear sign of a lack of product knowledge.

The answer is that this nonprofit has a very special project called "Dogs Dig 'Em" dog treats that they bake & sell locally at stores & special events in the Fresno area. They make yummy peanut butter biscuits from scratch. All biscuits are made by women who are participating in a recovery program while also gaining employable skills. You can find the biscuits in stores around town such as Sassano's in downtown Clovis. Be careful of buying the biscuits though because your dog, like mine, might come to expect a biscuit daily. My only wish would be for the project to open a website so people could order online-that would be fantastic. As it is, it's a local nonprofit supporting local women that in turn supports local businesses by selling their product in the stores. What an awesome project & great product.
