Surgery is a stressful experience under the best of circumstances and surgeons can be a stoic lot…read more I know because I have had a few surgeries in my time. My recent surgery to repair an inguinal hernia was performed by Dr. Russel Martin, and I can tell you with absolute confidence that it was the easiest surgical experience of my life. Dr. Martin is a very good-natured man who exudes and inspires confidence that clearly comes, not from arrogance, but from experience, genuine skill, and dedication to his profession. All of my questions were answered ... all of my concerns were addressed. Dr. Martin was both patient and articulate. His team in the office and at the hospital (St. Agnes) were top-flight and made me feel very well cared for the entire time. My anesthesiologists were flawless. On a scale of 1-10 my post-op pain level never got past a 4 and my recovery has been rapid (two weeks later I am in the pool swimming laps and feeling fine) I feel none of the common post-op discomfort sometimes caused by the injection of CO2. I am 78 and Dr. Martin, made sure that I was ok for the procedure by sending me to Dr. Khoi Le (also an excellent doctor) for a cardiac clearance. As I said, surgery is stressful, but I can honestly say that Dr. Martin is the best I could hope for, and I remain very satisfied and grateful for his help in improving the quality of my life. If I could award him more stars I certainly would.

Dr Davis never makes you feel like a bother for asking questions and gives thorough responses in a timely manner. Which is huge when you are wondering something about your child. Her knowledge is also second to none. I never doubt anything she says. I totally trust her. Even 2 years later she still has quick access to my daughters chart to answer any questions I may have. She is so kind and compassionate. I highly recommend her. Dr Judy Davis sets the bar very high. If you are looking for a GI doctor for you child, look no more. You have found a great one.

The receptionist was laughing and rolling her eyes and she raised her voice very loud stating that she thought i couldnt hear..receptionist is a joke of a person..Judy was exellent, they just need to replace that receptionist..

Third visit was for colonoscopy and endoscopy. My son and I got lost and I was 10 min late for my appointment time and 40 minutes late for my arrival time. They said it was ok. I signed paperwork so I would receive the medicine that would put me to sleep. I never received enough of anything, to even make me sleepy. I was quite able to talk and told them how painful it was. They continued with the proceedure with me complaining and groaning. I kept begging for medication. They continued with colonoscopy and went ahead with endoscopy without medication. It was partly my fault for being late, but instead of pretending they were going to give me medication, I wish they had been truthful and told me I was late and therefore being the last patient of the day, I would not be medicated because everyone was in a hurry to go home and no one wanted to sit around waiting for me to wake up. Follow up Dr Mittal took the time to personally call me and explain that due to my diseases and medications, I did not react normally to the Versaid. He had given me the maxamin dose and anymore could have caused breathing problems. I appreciated his call and explaination and it did a lot to clarify things, and I have great respect for any doctor who does this. TY Dr. Mittal.

Waiting nearly two years while…read moredealing with chronic health problems, only to have appointments repeatedly canceled, was incredibly disappointing. No one with ongoing medical issues should have to go through an experience like this. I first needed to schedule an appointment after an ER visit in October 2024. Despite having ongoing gastrointestinal issues, I was told the earliest available appointment was November 2025 over a year later. I repeatedly called throughout that year asking if there were any cancellations because I was dealing with chronic pain, but I was told nothing was available. At the time, this was the only specialist my insurance would cover. Then, just three days before my November 2025 appointment, the office called to cancel it. After waiting an entire year, I explained how frustrating this was and how important it was for me to be seen. I was told they would call me if another opening became available, but they never did. Instead, they rescheduled me for June 2026. Unfortunately, that appointment was canceled as well. When I called to explain that I had now gone almost two years without being seen despite multiple referrals and ongoing symptoms, the receptionist was extremely rude. I was placed on hold for about 25 minutes before the call was disconnected. When I called back, I was told I would have to reschedule yet again and wait another seven months. Thankfully, I was eventually able to change my insurance and get a referral to a different gastroenterology office. To be clear, my frustration isn't with Dr. Mittal personally because I never had the opportunity to be seen. My experience was with the front office staff and the scheduling process. I hope this office improves how it communicates with patients because my experience was unacceptable, and I wouldn't want someone else dealing with chronic health issues to go through the same thing.
