Run don't walk to see Dr. Tais or Dr. Joy... I've been a patient for over 2 years and Dr. Tais ran labs that no doctor has ever ordered before. No wonder I felt lousy, my testosterone was zero, my B12 & B 's very low, Vit D low, stress very high, achey & starving all of the time, hypoglycemia & hypertension due to the stress, etc. She took an entire hour to review my whole health picture. Dr.Tais is the first naturopathic physician to treat me. I scoured the websites looking for a naturopath in the Fresno area, with the understanding my insurance would not cover any of my treatments with any such doctor. I had been quite ill for about three years and became frustrated with all of the poking and prodding ( 3 surgeries, and 1 year of physical therapy) my primary and all 14 specialists were asking me to endure. My labs, tests, cat-scans, MRI's and surgical findings always came up "inconclusive" or just "slightly off/out of range", no real definitive answer or name for why I felt so awful and my body was morphing into someone I no longer recognized. After the last major surgery I was desperate to feel well again and deteriorating quickly, with no faith in the physicians and surgeons caring for me. My primary said I was just a sensitive woman and indicated I may just have anxiety issues. Enough was enough, I took a leap of faith and emailed Dr. Tais who kindly responded and answered my questions about billing, payments , labs, and tests before scheduling a first visit via email. She let me know I was welcome to telephone with any other questions. I did telephone and she called me back, I was a little surprised at first because rarely does the actual provider speak to you on the phone themselves. Upon our first visit I found Dr. Tais to be kind, caring, patient, and a very good listener. She ordered a few labs, requested all of my records from my previous 14 specialists and primary care doctor and said she'd phone when results came in. In ONE VISIT and ONE ROUND OF LABS she chose to order she found the culprits of my rapidly declining health!! ONE VISIT !!!!! I was relieved and upset all at once, I wasn't crazy after all and SHE found out what was wrong in ONE VISIT!!! One of my first questions after wrapping my head around the treatment and the fact that I absolutely knew something was wrong with my health was..... "Did my previous panel of physicians miss this key indicator in my many rounds of labs with them?" Yes , they did!! It was right there in the labs that they forwarded to her themselves in black and white. It has taken everything in me to not go back in to every one of their offices and point out on their labs and her labs the egregious oversight that robbed me of 3 years of my life!! The doctors that my insurance would cover visits for wasted my time, resources, ordered time away from work, and missed my children's many milestones (years of my life) because they overlooked their own orders and labs. I am not a wealthy person and have paid a few thousands of dollars over the past three years trying to resolve my health issues. Had I only known about Dr. Tais and her practice I would have spared the three years of damage to my body, and had a much healthier and larger savings account. She is now the only doctor I trust, I chose to continue with her practice even after pinpointing the root cause of all of my many symptoms and am now a loyal and lifelong patient. I am feeling so much better now and we are working to fine tune the treatments to get me back to optimal health!!! The follow up visits (much less than the initial setup appointment) aren't too much more expensive than my regular copays with my health insurance and my husband agrees that Dr.Tais is worth every penny!!! read more

Dr. Tais is an amazing doctor. I have been to several doctors over the years and no one could give me the answers I needed. My thyroid has been out of whack for some time all I would hear is "your labs are normal...you're tired because you have kids!" Dr. Tais spent an entire 60 mins just listening to me and asking questions. That alone was refreshing and therapeutic. She ran the labs that I needed to get to the bottom of my problem. If you're looking to better your health by finding and resolving the root problem, Dr. Tais is for you. Drugs are secondary unless absolutely necessary. For best results, be honest during your first consultation with her. Tell her exactly what is going on or malfunctioning in your body. Be ready to get some lab work done as there is no other way to really know what your blood levels are or say. She will explain everything in detail and lead you through each step. Again, be honest with what's going on with your body, get ready to know the truth and follow her recommendations. I was extremely anemic but was never told this by any other doctor. Simply working on my iron levels has made a huge change in the way I feel, physically. We have more work to do but I am 100% confident in her road map for my health. My first visit here waz ok. But after that, no. But when the receptionist NEVER answers the phone directly, t should be taken as a bad sign. It is. I needed a prescription and it was time sensitive. After three phone calls, one email to the doctor and 2 separate visits to the pharmacy, I still have nothing. The receptionist basically told me I had requested the wrong thing. Seeing Dr. Tais was a waste of our time. I can not recommend this office. While we were here my husband got progressively worse under her care and ended up in the emergency room twice because of her recommendations. She wasted a lot of our time and money. Just to see her for the first time was $250. Plus $98 every time there after plus anything she prescribed. Including labs and other tests. If we had an issue an appointment was always a week to two weeks out. My other pet peeve was the receptionist. She had poor manners and anytime you call you have to leave a message and wait for someone to call back. Then she would take my message to Dr.Tais and I would again have to wait to hear from Dr. Tais. It was all in all a huge waste of our time and over a grand. We finally quit and had to use someone else just get my husband back to where he needed to be health wise. My best guess is Dr. Tais is learning as she goes and really has no idea what she's doing. read more

Before I found Dr. Tais, I had struggled for more than 10 years with chronic joint pain and other health issues. My previous doctors had run a variety of tests, made lots of expensive referrals, and recommended fairly strong medications, which I often did not pursue because I wanted to go with a more natural option if possible. Finally, I found Dr. Tais, and I only wish I had found her ten years sooner. I've never had a doctor sit down and really look at my holistic health issues like she has--she listens, she's thoughtful, and does not jump to drastic action. She actually explains test results to me, and allowed me to be a part of making the choices for my course of treatment, though of course she gave me her recommendations. As a result of my last visit, the simple elimination of a couple of foods from my diet, and some low-dose supplements, have resolved most of my problems. If anyone is hesitating to see Dr. Tais due to a lack of insurance coverage, I had the same concern. Though Dr. Tais is not covered under my insurance, I have found that my overall costs tends to be lower with her, as she doesn't do unnecessary testing and she doesn't automatically jump to expensive prescriptions or referrals right away, though I have no doubt she would do what was needed if my issues didn't respond to this course of treatment. She understands the mind-body connection to health, and she also thoughtfully gives me input to provide two other healthcare professionals with whom I work such as acupuncturists and chiropractors. I just saw Dr. Tais for the first time yesterday, and she was beyond wonderful. She will be my PCP moving forward. This was the first time that I truly felt heard, listened to, and cared for with regard to my health and complicated thyroid issues. Dr. Tais literally saved my life. I was in so much pain and had severe depression. I didn't know where to turn. Upon my first visit with her I immediately felt peace. Her demeanor was soft, kind, giving, gentle and showed she really cared. She did a lot of lab test which I was fine with and at that point I told her I would do whatever she asked me to do, and I have. She is so amazing, you leave her office wanting to do everything you can not only for yourself but for her as well.
