Terrible experience: office staff is rude and. And in the best of cases, she is misinformed, or in the worst case scenario, applying a racist or prejudiced screening criteria against patients. The office staff member must be under some disillusionment that she is running the hottest night club in town vs. a doctor's office. I called to make an appointment. I was told that the doctors are very careful about what patients they take in and that "it was an application process." That raised some yellow flags and I agreed to complete an application. The staff member then asked for my insurance information, which I provided (it is a generous commercial group PPO plan). The staff member then incorrectly informed me that while the specialty and fertility center was in-network with my insurance company, that Clovis Community was not. This is just categorically wrong: Clovis Community is an in-network hospital, verified with my insurance company. Even then I said that was fine: my insurance coverage is generous enough that my out of network care is reimbursed as if it was in-network. She lectured me that wasn't how they worked. I hung up at that point: it was clear they didn't want my business. I can only assume that - in the best case scenario - that the office member was misinformed. In the worst case scenario, they were applying racial screening or other screening. In any case, definitely not the kind of office you want to be dealing with during such an important and sensitive time in your life. Stay away. read more

You deserve NO STARS! February 2025 is when I was seen at this office. I AM CONTRACTED with this office through my insurance and came for medical purposes. This office requested $300 and failed to bill my insurance I have combated them MULTIPLE times to bill my insurance and get a refund I should have NEVER paid in the first place as I told them this at the initial office visit. It took them two months to bill my insurance when they had already had my insurance information, my insurance has paid in FULL, and the office has STILL Refused to refund me. They are running a SCAM telling members that their insurance won't cover certain services! If you have Aetna insurance and you were told by them that you plan wont cover something they are LYING TO YOU. And I would recommend you contact your insurance provider FIRST before handing them ANY MONEY. Better yet FIND SOMEONE ELSE! GIVE ME BACK MY MONEY!!!!! read more

The front desk ladies are rude. The whole facility including the office manager needs to be retrained or learn about insurances. They refused to take my insurance and forced me to pay out of pocket as out of network. The office manager and billing manager both refused my insurance and kept telling me my insurance is out of network because they dont understand what Progyny does for my insurance and they wouldnt listen to my explanation or the Progyny rep. After 3 months, I finally got the billing associate, bless her heart to send in my claims to the TPA just to prove to them that I am in network and was forced to pay out of pocket. After reading similar reviews, it seems like they do this with a lot of other people too. It sucks that this is the only place located in Fresno for Fertility treatments and the front staff are the rudest people. People like myself with fertility issues already have it hard enough but they make it worst! I cringle everytime I have to go there for procedures due to the front staff and office manager. My wife was sent to the ER due to OHSS (Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome) - is an exaggerated response to excess hormones. It usually occurs in women taking injectable hormone medications to stimulate the development of eggs in the ovaries. Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) causes the ovaries to swell and become painful. Please save yourself the headache and money and do your homework before considering this facility. If I could give a 0 star I would. First off, the front desk staff is extremely insensitive, rude and demeaning. In particular, Becca. You would think a fertility clinic would hire kind, empathetic people as their first point of contact for people who are struggling with infertility... not the case here. Initially, I was so put off by how I was treated just trying to setup a consultation I should have known this clinic wasn't a good fit. I was met with insensitivity and crass behavior and that was just in the initial phone call (this rude & condescending behavior has now been every phone call with them). This clinic cares only about your money. You're just another number to them. Dr. Synn is never in the office and impossible to see. The NPs are nice, but seem quick to make rash judgements. My entire experience here has been filled with added stress (as if I needed more), grief and no support. My husband and I will choose to drive 3+ hours to be treated with respect, kindness and care versus just another $ for them. Avoid at all cost. It's sad that there are such limited options in the valley for good care. read more

Pros: -Staff was mostly professional and friendly -We did meet with both Dr. Synn and Dr. Sueldo who took their time to explain things and answer questions. -They have staff on-call for questions if you need it -It's great to have a local clinic where you can egg retrieval. And if you're wondering, they say it's light sedation but you're basically knocked out. There's anesthesiologist to make sure you're out! -They seemed pretty well organized Cons: -Despite having an appointment, you do wait a bit---before and after the appointments most times -Only one time I sensed the on-call NP was annoyed at my question that I called in for. Granted it was likely an obvious answer in hindsight but hey I was nervous! -Felt that we bought more fertility medication in advance than needed since we only did one IVF round. Consequently, we had left over meds we wasted money on. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Basically for one IVF treatment, we spent about $15,000. Didn't make it very far and they were honest about the fact that due to age (being older 39), egg quality isn't going to be good so this was a likely barrier. You're likely to have better success with a younger women's donor egg, granted there's no other medical problems you may have going on. This isn't the only place to say this....most fertility places like this one will make it a point to tell you this at the start--- to use a younger egg for a better chance, but I think people gloss over it and hope for a miracle by using their own egg despite being older. If you really want to use your own eggs and you're an older woman, be prepared to spend A LOT of money because the odds are not in your favor. But what a place like this will tell you are the facts and yes, if you still want to proceed despite the odds, they will do the procedure. It is completely worth it to travel!!! Try New Directions Fertility Center in Phoenix, or CNY in New York. Both 5k or less for a full cycle, and better success rates! Ughhhh this place should not be allowed to continue leading couples to believe they are worth one penny!! Staff are nice and friendly but the services they provide are limited. I gave them 3 stars for average service not because they have bad service. We were not successful with IVF here. What to expect for IVF. Costs without insurance about $12,000 IVF and extra $5,000 for genetic testing. IVF meds were $5,330 for a 10 day supply. You'll be taking a list of vitamins also. Nurse will go over medication mixing and injection instructions at the office. You'll need HSG X-ray and bloodwork before starting the IVF. They don't do the bloodwork at the office so you will have to make appointments at Quest. They will provide a list of places where to go for X-rays needed. You'll get a set of instructions for when and how much meds to take daily. It might change after an office visit. You'll be scheduled for an ultrasound a couple days here and there after taking meds. Bloodwork is required the same day as ultrasound and it's best to try to schedule in the morning so they get the results a couple hours later. They ultrasounds are for follicule tracking. They will schedule egg retrieval and for partner/spouse to go in sperm collection the same day. They are a busy office. Good luck getting a consultation within a few weeks. We had to wait a couple months. I think our IVF process didn't start until 7 months after we called for a consultation appointment. Age is not a factor in getting appointments sooner. Dr. for web consultation was pretty much out of the picture during the IVF process. You'll mainly see a nurse practitioner and nurse for ultrasound and office visits. Dr. performing egg retrieval was not the consultation Dr. The office does not offer ICSI (sperm injection to fertilize egg). Your partner will be instructed to take vitamins/meds for increased sperm production/mobility. I found a we website after my treatment. It provides a list of IVF clinics and some information on success rates. Not all clinics provide the same services which might be an IVF success factor. The pro: you can get an appointment quickly. The cons: 1. You will not see the doctor regularly. 2. When you do, he'll push the money making IVF even if your problem is not getting pregnant, but staying pregnant. 3. When I was pregnant, at 7 weeks they made me return to my OBGYN even though I was seeing Dr Synn because I had miscarried at 10 weeks twice before. 4. I miscarried again and insisted that I get a referral to UCSF. WSFC was not flexible sending my records. 5. Ok let me start by saying that I understand that fertility is an extremely sensitive subject and that makes it hard to review an experience. But I had recently moved to the Fresno area and transferred from another fertility clinic that I loved. The initial appt went well, we met with Dr Synn and he was nice and informative. And we decided to go through with an ivf. That was the last time I saw Dr Synn. We proceeded to rotate between NP and other doctors. Never saw the same person twice, I would wait for hours for my appt and you could only go to two place for blood work. The whole process was impossible. Then we went through the egg retrieval and one day later we were told to see them on the third day for the next step. As my husband and I were anxiously awaiting putting embryos back in the dr comes in (one I have never met) tells me that my eggs are terrible quality and probably won't take. Literally crushed my heart right before going in. I was literally holding back tears. We did not end up pregnant and I was told in a phone call from a different dr. The worst part of it all was that when I went back in for my follow up they stated we could do the procedure again but they didn't think it would work because of my cysts. But yeah we can take your money and try again. I left that office knowing I would never go back. I decided to seek out a surgeon to help with my problems and I am back at my previous fertility doctor (who is amazing) and while I don't know if I will get pregnant I know I am great hands. Oh and if you want to transfer records be prepared to pay $$$ for it. Basically I would rather drive 4 hours to see a great doctor. I would suggest to never ever ever ever go here. They will take your money and make you feel like a number instead of a person during an incredibly sensitive process. read more

She gave great advice and was truly happy for us - that our baby is healthy, even though that meant I 'graduated' from her care. My wife and I went to Women's Specialty and Fertility Clinic about a year ago. Trying to conceive can be stressful for anyone, especially when going through fertility treatments. If you live in the Central Valley and think you'll need to go far away to a big city to get quality fertility treatment, think again. The staff at the clinic were very supportive and great to work with. Even when we thought we miscounted (it's a lot of medication!) and ran out of medication they had enough to get us by. They were very helpful whenever my wife had to call with a question and always made her feel comfortable when she came in for an appointment. We had to do 3 IUI's before trying IVF. Luckily for us, the first IVF took and now my wife is due in less than 2 months. We have the staff at Women's Specialty and Fertility Clinic to thank for that. read more

WSFC deserves all the negativity you read about. I don't know where to begin. *I saw Dr. Synn for an initial consultation. He seemed fine. Never saw him again. He keeps very limited hours there, it seems. The front office staff is polite enough, but stupid. I can't tell you how many times they referenced my non-existent husband, as in "you need to fill out the form for your husband's insurance" (I had marked 'single' on said form) and "have your husband drop off the sperm sample the morning of the procedure". It seems like a minor thing, but it's a fertility clinic. Lots of gays and singles and surrogates and non-marrieds. *After my first procedure didn't take, I called to ask if I could talk to the NP about why. The lady wouldn't let me talk to the NP or leave her a message, and then speculated that maybe it wasn't a follicle the NP had seen on the ultrasound, maybe it was a cyst. WTF??? 1) I would hope an NP could tell the difference between a follicle and an ovarian cyst, and 2) WHYYYY would you just randomly speculate that I have a cyst??? *When deciding whether to go forward with the procedure that day, the nurse suggested I consult the packaging on my home ovulation kits because some kits recommend sex/insemination within 48 hours and others 12-24 hours. Really? A home test manufacturer has better advice for me than a fertility clinic about when to inseminate? Also, those tests all measure the same hormone, so variances on their recommendations are meaningless. *The clinic keeps absurd banker's hours. Heaven help you if you need to be seen on the weekend. They won't do it. Hope you ovulate during business hours! Hope you don't need an ultrasound on a weekend because you ovulate on Mondays! Hope you don't have a job where you can only make personal calls on your lunch hour because they don't answer their phones from 12:30-2:00! This was especially offensive because I had specifically asked Dr. Synn about this and he said they have lots of off-hours patients and it was fine. *You absolutely will not be seen in a timely manner. My last appointment was at 11:00. They only start seeing patients I think at 8:30. But I waited a full hour past my 11:00 appointment. No apology or acknowledgement regarding the wait. *I got some unexpected bad news at an appointment. I only heard about half of what the NP said after she told me my results were abnormal. I was working very hard fighting back tears. When I called a couple of days later to see if I could ask a few follow up questions to make sure I had heard things correctly, I was told no (again, by the receptionist. They absolutely WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO LEAVE A MESSAGE FOR YOUR CARE PROVIDER). She said I would have to come in for another appointment. And pay another $45. And sit in their goddamn waiting room for another hour. Just because I need clarification on what I was told. That was the last straw. They may be the only game in town, but I guess I'll find a different town. This place is unprofessional, careless, and heartless. read more

My husband and I were with WSFC for about 6 months beginning in the fall of 2019. We saw Dr. Sueldo (Jr.) for infertility, after having received the diagnoses of this after a year of ttc, DOR and endometriosis. She treated us with compassion and kindness, yet also did not overly sugar-coat the situation - she responded with data, figures and knowledge to our questions. I appreciated this as I am more of a numbers gal and am not a fan of being told to just have faith and it will work (as so many of us are told in the infertility community). We went through one round of IVF here which was unsuccessful, and though we ended up pregnant spontaneously between IVF cycles, Dr. Sueldo stayed with us until we graduated to our OBGYN cheering us along through the anxiety of early pregnancy after infertility. Dr. Sueldo is professional and clearly knows her field well, but it always came across how much she cares to help people achieve their dream of parenthood. There were many moments in that six months of treatment where I felt deep sadness when I was in the office, and I always felt cared for by the staff. After being with this clinic for about 3.5 years my husband and I decided to get a second opinion best decision we have ever made. After meeting with our new Dr. we were shocked to learn Dr. Synn never completed mandatory blood work on my husband and myself which was required by law when one participates in fertility treatments. Dr David Dorough was my ob/gyn for my third baby. I wish I had delivered all my babies with him. He and his staff always quickly responded to any of my concerns or needs. I especially have a hard time with finding ob/gyn's I feel comfortable with because of my history with sexual abuse. I notified him of my fears with certain procedures because of my past and he was very compassionate and respectful of my needs because of this. I highly recommend him and his staff! read more

After working with this clinic for years, I just recently switched clinics and it was the best decision I have ever made. My husband and I suffer from male factor infertility and did two cycles of IVF at this clinic. The first cycle was cancelled due to not responding to my medication properly. They told me it was because of my injection site. We then did a second IVF cycle which produced a pregnancy of multiples. I miscarried all of my babies at different times. I then did a FET which did not produce a pregnancy. I had a hunch that there was another issue going on, and when I questioned Dr. Synn about my miscarriages, he told me that they were very common and that I would have to suffer 5 miscarriages before there would be any red flags. I also asked if my drug protocol was the correct one, to which he said he would not change anything. He also decided to let me know 2 years after being there at my FOLLOW UP after a FAILED IVF cycle that I have DOR. Something that was NEVER told to me. When I questioned him about it, he said he apologized that he had never told me that in those exact words. He had NEVER told me anything about it. In fact, he had told me twice that I had pleanty of eggs and that I was perfectly fine. On a hunch, I went to another doctor for a second opinion. After 5 minutes with the new doctor, he had our issue figured out. My husband has a rare chromosomal abnormality that causes multiple miscarriages and genetically abnormal embryos. Something a simple blood test could have found, yet Dr. Synn NEVER said anything about or even offered. If I had stayed with this clinic and did another IVF cycle, chances are I would have continued to miscarry and waste my money. I was also told that the drug protocol he put me on was all wrong. I will NEVER go back there. I have since found one other women who has the SAME diagnosis that Dr. Synn missed. She changed clinics after being with him for 3 years. Be warned. Do your homework. He did get me pregnant, but at a emotional and financial cost in the long run. If we had known about the karyotype issue, I would not have had to go through the devastating loss of a miscarriage of multiples I will never go back to him. Ever. The only positive thing I can say about this clinic is the nurses are very kind and compassionate. Dr. Synn is nothing of the sort. read more
