If you go try and find one of the best walks in the UK, it is called Crichope Lynne it is an old victorian walk and is my favourite walk. Great Hotel in Scotland.

The hotel has reached new heights under the present incumbents, Adam and Jan, and is very successfully presented as a comfortable country house hotel. The rooms are adequate to large in size, with good-sized en-suite bathrooms (shower or shower/bath). Decor is kept in good order and cleanliness is good. Adam oversees the kitchen, with a focus on locally-produced food resulting in excellent hearty breakfasts (featuring full Scottish, kedgeree, kippers, smoked haddock and toast from bread made on the premises) and high-quality evening meals (very good seasonal game and fish) served either informally in the bar or in the restaurant, both with fires in the colder months. The wine list is well-chosen, with something to appeal to almost every pocket and palate. Among the many things that make the Trigony unique are the home-baked shortbreads in the rooms, the artisanally-made toiletries and the views of red squirrels in the garden. The service is just what one would expect: real quality!

The Crown Hotel - Interior shot with good light

A sign outside advertised "Best Soup in town", and given that it was a cold, blustery, Scotland…read more(read Typical) afternoon, the boyfriend and I were up to seeing how they did on that claim. The Crown Hotel has an eatery located on their lower floor, very European in style, and all in all, it appeared to be a clean establishment. Dark pub-y colours, rich woods and a HUGE bar dominated the interior. So, we chose a seat by the window that allowed a bit of light in. Their menu was a bit large, (odd compared to others I've seen in rhe last few days) so we chose our soups, Potato Leek for myself, and a tomato bisque for him, and ordered our mains as well, both of us opted for cheeseburgers (mine with bacon) and fries. The soups did not disappoint! Both were served in crocks, with a fresh baked roll and irish butter. Mine was in a thin chicken broth but chock full of both potatoes and leeks. The pets was a creamy tomato with a swirl of sour cream and both were absolutely flavorful! The Hamburgers tho... *waggles hand* Pre-formed and pre-frozen patties, akin to bubba burgers back home, served on a sessame seed bun, with lettuce, tomato and onion, american sliced cheese (Blerg) and a rasher - delicious bacon, but not at ALL what I'm used to. The fries were thin cut and crispy, very very good. And the plate had a small salad of lettuce, onion, cucumber, bell pepper and tomato, barely a half cup, but totally normal an just dressed with pepper. There are no dressings ever offered, you might be lucky to have it come dressed with vinegar already. Over all, a nice shop. When I visit again, I'll come back.
