We are new seasonal campers here at Friendly Beaver. Last night there was a situation happening after the office was closed for the night. I wanted to reach out to the owners/managers, so I called the office and the owner answered the phone and within minutes, the owners were down at my camper. Talk about awesome customer service!!! And first thing this morning, the owners came back to see me. I have been in a management/supervisor role for most of my adult life and I have to tell you, the owners here at Friendly Beaver are top notch. They love their campground and their campers. I was a seasonal camper here when I was younger and have never had an issue here. The pool, bathrooms, and other facilities were spotless. There's plenty to do and Rob and his staff were very polite and the themed weekends made it special. I'm planning a trip to come back years later for a weekend in July I'm super excited. Hi. This place was awful! We had a really bad site. No woods. 3 or 4 under grown trees and an open field. I spoke to the owner. He did offer another site. Which he thought was better. But it wasn't! It was right in front by the store. Would have been busy and noisy. Plus the lady wanted to charge us extra to move cuz it would have sewerage. Ok, he was willing to waive that. But the site was just as bad. Petting zoo was there, so it smelt awful. My interaction with him and one lady was awful. One lady did try to help. The fire pits were very tiny. At $90 a night without sewer. This place isn't worth it. Every person I talked to had a complaint about something! He told me to my face he keeps the better sites for seasonal and one term people. We stayed 3 nights. I know what he means, but he took our money. The playground was nice. And the pools were nice. No chairs though. He would rent you a gazebo. He would rent you WIFI. I feel this place has their hand right in your pocket. You could do better, look around. read more

I would like to state a couple years ago I was very ignorant and disrespectful and childish my mental health wasn't in a great place and I made a false review on this campground who had absolutely nothing to do with the anger I had in me! me and a ex had a falling out and I was childish and upset and wanted them to punish him for my hurt and sadness. Rob & the staff was nothing but respectful and helpful during my time there and I would like to apologize for any wrong doings I've done and let you and the people know Rob and his staff are absolutely amazing this campground is the best around and you guys won't be disappointed from the activities to the pools to the People who go there they are amazing and respectful! Our kids enjoy coming up and spending time with their camp friends. It's very peaceful up here and I find that it is very much my happy place. The views outside our camper window is amazing. We're surrounding be trees and it's breathtaking when surrounded by freshly fallen snow. I'm recovering from surgery for thyroid cancer and it's definately helped my mood and healing. Horrible campsite. Sites are extremely small. The staff is very rude. We went with a group of people, one family found out that one person in their group had COVID so they did not end up coming out of safer for everyone at the camp ground. They tried to not refund them their money because it was last minute. The only reason they gave them a refund was because they told us that they rented out the site all ready and I had made a huge stink about them getting double the money on one site. The owners brother who was running the ground while the owner was on vacation was really rude when he came to the pool area. Will not return. Horrible experience. I will pay double the price at baileys in Maine and get what I pay for. read more

The transient sites are the smallest I have ever seen. The indoor pool is not very clean. WiFi service is non existent except for the store and rec center. Cell service is poor. Owner/Manager is extremely rude. Management/owner associated us with another group of loud partiers who happened to be camping next to us and will not let us stay there again. The only reason why we considered going back is that it was very close to home. Zero stars if it would allow. read more

upon stopping by the office , I told the 2 people that were working I was there to help wife, daughter and 4 grandkids to pack up and leave. all they said was if I left my license with them they wouldn't charge me a fee. when I went to get my license upon leaving , they demanded $10. to get my license back after I was only there for 1 hour 45 minutes. Beware of this place they try many shake down methods when offering discounts on kids meals etc; very noisy even at "quiet time" read more

Just wanted to let everyone know not to waste there money going here the maintenance man was nice but the owner was completely rude and unprofessional it was absolutely disgusting how disrespectful he was. It's basically just a trailer park full of rude snobby people. The pictures online are absolutely false it looks nothing like it at all. You pay $10 per device per day for WiFi and it doesn't even work and when brought to there attention they didn't even say anything. We have been at Friendly Beaver Campgrounds for 2 yrs. The staff has always been wonderful to us and any of our guests. The grounds are taken care of all the time. The facilities like bathrooms and laundry rooms are clean and well maintained. The activities for kids and adults are a blast. We have been to 4 campgrounds to visit and they don't come close to this campground. The campsites offer all the amenities you need to enjoy your stay. It is extremely family friendly and offers a safe environment for kids and adults. read more

We were told check in was 1:30 if you checked in before then there is a charge. First the roads are very rough and full of Potholes. We set up and let the office know there was dog waste at our site. They did apologize and said they were going to look up the previous renter and charge them. They were going to send out Maintenance to clean it up to which NO ONE SHOWED UP! So we had to smell that the entire time. Also if you complain too much you get thrown out. There was NO cell service and they sell wet wood. We did have nice neighbors so that was a plus When we saw all our neighbors packing up and moving out we decided to leave too. My friend had to go back with her husband to tow the camper ( a fifth Wheel) out. The one at the desk took the husbands license and hung onto it with just a 20 minute window to hook on and go or there was a charge. She said she had the site until 6pm and rented to 2 people. He was NOT staying just hooking up and going. When they got to the site to get the camper there was a 6 yr old girl left behind thinking her family left her. Technically they were at the office looking for her. That would have been something for security to handle but we NEVER saw any. We said we WILL NOT return again! read more

This is the worst campground I've ever been to. The sites are extremely tiny with no privacy whatsoever. There are people drinking and smoking and blaring music loudly. It is very sketchy even though they advertise to be a "family friendly environment". Not to mention the staff are extremely rude. I do not recommend at all. read more

Just visited family today for Less Than 3 hours and had to spend $14. It's a little outrageous I didn't even use any of their facilities.

Back when i was about 10 to 16 years old my mom would take us here. Almost 29 and thinking this place was the best memories i ever had. Everyone was always friendly and as far as the kids getting out of hand that is the parents responsibility.you can hardly blame the workers they are not babysitters. You have to also keep in mind that it's a campground a place where kids can run free and have fun. I moved to Florida when I turned 18. And yet to this day I still remember all the memories I had and i was looking on YouTube checking out all the videos and photos from friendly beaver and can tell that they have made a lot of upgrades and some new changes like The gazebos by the pools. I also noticed that a lot of things are the same such as the store rec Hall area and playground is even the same except newly painted and kept up with. One time my family decided to go to Coldsprings campground if you want to talk about out rages prices their prices are hundreds of dollars more than friendly beaver. I actually find their price is completely reasonable. The next time I take any kind of vacation it will be back home just so I can go to friendly beaver campground and take my three children there to experience the wonderful memories I will have forever in my heart. This is by far our favorite place to camp. Reasonably priced and clean. The bathrooms are conveniently located,close enough to the tent sites, as well as the pools and playgrounds. The staff are extremely friendly. The seasonal campers are also welcoming and friendly. The store is always well stocked with supplies and goodies for the kids. The weekends are usually filled with activities for the kids along with some adult fun. Quiet time is at 11 and it is enforced. However, as long as it's quiet, we have never been bothered. There is a small farm to feed the animals and an arcade with laundry inside. We highly recommend camping here! We love it so much we do six long weekends during the summer!! read more

I feel I'm being generous with the 3 star rating but overall I did enjoy my time there and would consider returning. I like how laid back it was. No one came and bothered us but it was also "laid back" in terms of maintenance and management of the land. It should be noted that the fire pits are very small and don't provide cooking racks so you MUST have another way to cook! The store and pools are open late and the store has your basic selection of junk food but make sure you have your staples and bring beer because their selection was very limited. I thought it was slightly overpriced, we paid $140 for two nights, one site. Firewood is $20 for a bin but you get $10 back when you return the bin. It's very rustic, no paved roads so if you're planning to bike with young kids it wouldn't be very good. I found some poison ivy in a couple spots near the site as well. My kids loved the playground and pools but other than that it really was nothing spectacular. I thought the staff was friendly enough, they leave you alone. Some people might not like this place because it was a little trashy. Honestly, it suited our needs but I expect more for the price. read more

This campground us in it for the $$, not because they enjoy it and it shows. They have you packed in like sardines on top of each other, sites all had multiple cars, felt like I was camping in a parking lot; if it weren't for the mud pit site. Kids running around the campground, jumping and diving and splashing in the pool with no adult supervision, teens loitering and smoking at the bath house at all hours. They nickel and dime you for everything, it's quite ridiculous. Won't be back and will not recommend. read more

I gave this place 3 stars because there are no half stars on Yelp. Plus they have a lot of things for the kids to do. It was my second time there and only because we know some seasonal campers will I contemplate going back. First time I went I had more fun but this review is for my second visit. I was there Memorial Day weekend. My friend had a site but didn't put my name on the list. They charged me $20 per night as a guest. What a racket! It's usually $10 but holidays they double the rate. If my friend had put my name on the list I would of paid nothing because I would of made the 2nd adult allowed on the site. I tried to explain that to the person behind the counter but she didn't seem to want to listen. When I went back the next day and spoke to another person she was empathetic but WAS NOT going to return my twenty bucks. So after I initially checked in I got in my car and was trying to find my way to the site. Then all of a sudden I hear HEY YOU! I say HEY back not realizing that it's a guy in a golf cart with a radar detector. YES I SAID A RADAR DETECTOR! He proceeds to yell at me for going way to fast. I think I was going about 12 mph thinking that the speed limit is 10 mph. Yes I know I'm still speeding. Well the speed limit is only 5mph. Ok first of all YOU ARE NOT A COP and secondly YOU CAN NOT WRITE ME A TICKET! Turns out that they write tickets to seasonal campers if they are caught speeding in their car or golf cart. Really? Yet the kids on their bikes zip around without issue. I'm all for safety and sometimes you need to punish wrongdoers. My visitor pass hanging from my rear view mirror should of told PAUL BLART that I might not know how serious the rules are and need a quick explanation. Not a rolled up newspaper smacked against my nose in disgust. The 3 pools are nice but could use some Rules Enforcement. Some kids were getting out of control and parents were too busy catching rays and drinking rather then watching their kids. Oh and did I mention someone pulled a Caddy Shack in the pool but it wasn't a Baby Ruth? UGH! Some friends rented one of the gazebos. $50? Really? Yeah it was nice to have a designated spot with electricity and shade but not worth the money. Beaver cafe was good for breakfast. Great having a store on site that takes credit cards. Shower facilities pretty good depending on which one you use. I will go back only to see those seasonal campers I know. Otherwise I will take my tent elsewhere. read more

We recently had a house fire friendly beaver allowed us to camp here through the winter. The staff and current residence are very friendly and very accommodating this campground is more like a resort. They have two great laundry facilities super clean and modern bathrooms heated in door pool and if you snowmobile this is a great spot. there is always something going on too lots of dances and poker too and is very safe. We have been here for 5 months now and would highly recommend the friendly beaver to friends and family read more

My experience at the friendly Beaver was absolutely horrid. Earlier in the day I had called ahead to ask if it was OK that my friends who had also been on the reservation to set up tents and then for me to check in later. They said that was fine so my friend headed over to set up. Later upon my arrival I go to check in and they asked for my licenses. I go to grab them and as I go to check with my friend I come back and they tell me that they cannot check me in are going to refund me. We had just driven 2 hours and spent our mornings packing all our camping gear. It was said very rudely and with no explanation at all. Upon me asking why we were not allowed to stay they told me that the check in age was 21. We had a 21 year old with us and then they told us that the 17 year old couldn't stay without parental consent and proceeded to say that everyone should be 21. It just so happens my mom was dropping off my sister so I asked her to come down and talk to them. She came back and said that she honestly didn't feel comfortable with us staying as many people were drinking, smoking and blaring music. (ps this place is trashy and overly populated. Especially during a pandemic. Campsites are small and have absolutely no privacy). They proceeded to make a huge deal that my mom was on the campsite without checking in. It was a misunderstanding but I'm so happy she was there with my sister as this was not a safe situation. We're good young adults. 3 of us have lived on our own. We all pay our own bills. We don't drink or smoke. I understand their was a check in age but we had a person in our party who was of age. We were also never asked what our ages were when we made the reservation. The 17 year old had parental permission and this is apparently a "kid friendly" environment. So disappointed and frustrated with this poor experience. Shout out to Goldilocks for unnecessarily escalating the situation and the worst costumer service I've ever experience. (They also blocked me from reviewing on Facebook immediately following this situation.) read more

Unfortunaltely, I cannot give this place a review above 1 star. The manager would not honor my Good Sams card discount when I called to check out because he said that info was needed during my check in! The parking site was extremely difficult to get to and if you arrive after dark, good luck in finding it.....very poorly marked! Moreover, the charge of $62 for less than 24 hours was excessive and having to pay an additional $5.00 per device for site WiFi was insulting! The entrance and grounds roads are in the poorest condition I have ever traveled! This place is nothing more than a trashy live-in commune and how Good Sams gives it a rating above 3/3/3 makes me question the value and sensibility of having membership! I would not reccommend this place to a tent camper, let-alone an RV traveler. read more

My husband and I are new seasonal campers here. We moved our trailer in last Fall. We had our two grand daughters stay with us over this Memorial Day Weekend. It was their first visit, they are 10 & 14. We were so pleased with how much there was for them to do. Most things were either free or required a small fee. Everything was organized and well supervised. Yes, the place was very crowded including the indoor heated pool. But we expected that because of the holiday weekend and good weather. Even at that, we felt things were run really well. We love how well supplied the camp store is. LOVE the convenience of having a delicious, well priced breakfast with waitress service right in the clubhouse. Everyone, campers as well as staff, were polite and kind. There are MANY long timers at the campground and I can see why. It has a real family atmosphere. I can't imagine how difficult it is to please so many people of various ages and expectations. But you can see they really take pride in running the place at a high quality. Our grandkids loved it! We are very grateful we found such a cool place to share with them when they visit and to hang out when at we are by ourselves. read more

My family and I were looking forward to spending a nice weekend vacation returning at the "Friendly" Beaver. However when we arrived that it certain was nothing like the name, there was nothing "Friendly" about it. On arrival the camp office seemed typical, with its typical staff. Unfortunately found out the hard way that some of the staff was downright rude. My cousin arrived shortly after, she was already paid for and registered, her name was listed and she was checked in. She went to leave the camp office and as she was pulling away, a lady who worked at the office, came up and told her to stop. My cousin, then, was questioned about who she was. She told her name and age and pointed out her name on the form that the lady presented. The office woman than rude responded with "are you REALLY 17?" She then demanded for her license to prove her age. That was my first problem. Here comes number two. My site was nasty. It was full of cigarette butts. My uncle went to the camp ground office and told the front man Rob, and he responded with "We have a crew that cleans it every week." did you just "forget" to do mine? I know quite a few people who also camp, and I WILL let them know. In my next season of camping I will not be returning. read more

Friendly Beaver Campground is the pits of campgrounds. If you plan on camping in the winter with the hopes of swimming in the indoor "heated" pool, forget it. The room is kept at 69 degrees and the pool is no better. So cold your teeth chatter. All year they raise money in the thousands of dollars for kids activities and then still charge 2 bucks for a ride around the park, really. There idea of childrens activities is building a snowman out of marshmellows. Forget childrens bingo, you don't get to keep what you won because they do a swap at the end. The staff are rude along with the owners. And if you bring a guest or two, 10.00 extra per day per person 20.00 if it's a holiday. I camped there for 1 season and was so dissapointed with the whole atmosphere of the place, i would never recomend it to anyone. read more

I really like this place. If you have children it is great because there are constant activities for them to do. The indoor pool "closes" at a certain time. That's what they tell the kids anyways, which is nice so you can swim in peace later on. I have a hard time agreeing with the comment below. My husband and I actually always comment on the bathrooms here. They are in the top three of the cleanest bathrooms we have ever seen at a campground. The family is rude? I've been camping here for about a year now, tagging along with seasonal campers and I just recently became a seasonal camper myself. I have to say that I don't understand all of the negative comments - things must have changed drastically in the past few years. I think the place is perfect for my family. There's plenty to do and most everyone is friendly. The bathrooms are clean, laundry on site for a minimal charge, and the camp store is great - I can't believe how well stocked it is! Everything I've ever needed they've had. We have great fun feeding the goats and the horses and while the pools can get crowded, I've found that the employees are always on the lookout for those that are disruptive/causing issues. They have themed weekends that are fun and they also have a pretty delicious breakfast on the weekends too (if you don't feel like cooking your own). I feel safe and at home here. Recent week stay in the cabin was peaceful during the week. Got chaotic come Friday afternoon. It was like 2 different campgrounds. Weekdays - bathrooms very clean. Weekend - disgusting muddy floors and toilets clogged and overfilled because they were not checked more frequently for the amount of campers. Cabin is bare minimum for $90+ a night. The flies at the cabin were atrocious. Cabin is extremely hot when temps are 85+ and cold when temp is 65 degrees. Beds are horrible and hard. I bought an air mattress to sleep on instead of the bed. Store was reasonably priced but selections are minimal. Activities were cancelled because it was a back to school week. The weekend was Halloween themed for Labor Day. Outstanding job by the campers who decorated. I did not personally partake in the hayride or haunted house but I did hear lots of people staying how great both events were. The minimal interaction I had with staff was pleasant. Seasonal campers were very friendly and very informative of going ons within the campground. Internet was so spotty that I would suggest that you save your money and just go to the rec hall for the free internet. I do think I will go back again next summer. I'm hoping for cleaner bathrooms and a week full of activities will be available. read more

We stayed about two months. Couple of pros, couple of cons. Pros, quite on weekdays for the most part, seems family friendly had a lot of activities for kids and get togethers. Cons- the first thing that is very apparent was the condition of the awful drive way leading to and from the camp ground. Pot holes the size of my car- imagine how bad it was in a one ton truck and 46 ft camper. Second this park was not designed for bigger campers. Lots were extremely small that often flooded and the lot they gave us did not have full hook ups. Since we had three tanks, we had an issues with them getting the tanks fully emptied or they missed tanks. They even left the hold door open and it soaked half of our hold. Every weekend the park would fill up leaving hardly any parking for anyone. When the people next to us we wanted to leave, we had to move our truck so they could get in and out. Whatever, we can deal with that, but really got us mad was when we went to check out they stated that our electric bill for one month was $170 and the previous month it was $67. We even paid extra when first arriving so we wouldn't have a final bill. They stated that with the electric bill we would not be issued a refund. Even though I had a credit from the month previous for Roughly $200. It became very apparent that they were just out for money, it's even pretty sad when the employee states they won't upgrade needed equipment for pumping the campers because that may interfere with the owners ability to take five vacations to Florida a year. We will not be returning and would rather drive an hour and a half to our job site than stay here again. Very disappointing. read more
