First off i just needed Wheel hub assemblies for the rear of my car, car had one singlar missing lug nut the entire time i had it. the antifreeze also was not low. Also wasn't aware for a job they were already doing i was gonna get drained on a diagnostic fee. claimed my car wasnt safe to drive with a missing lug nut and low antifreeze. when one it was fine how it was when i drove it there. a 650$ job turned into 800$. Never got a single phone call asking if this was ok or nothing. not a single nothing. Wouldnt ever take my vehicle back here ever again. Then stated taxes as well but only want me to bring cash? You never want to break down - but honestly, if you do, you want to in Athens, TN. My husband and I were on I-75 - on our way to Florida from Ohio. It was a cold, rainy, miserable day - our car started "surging" like it was running out of gas. We finally pulled over, called AAA; who had Mary from Friendly Auto Care call us back. Mary was very helpful, and told us a tow truck would be there within 30-45 minutes. "Big Robert" (an owner of Friendly City Auto) pulled up, got us out of the rain in his truck, loaded our car and off we were. He took us to a hotel and told us someone from his garage would call the next morning. "Big Gary" (the other owner) was the one who called. He told us he ran diagnostics on the car - of all things, it was the battery (not the fuel pump, as we thought). One hour after that phone call, we had a new battery and was on our way south. Hit a deer on I-75 late at night that caused us to move our van from the gas station to someplace that could fix the damage. The response time was faster then quoted and the driver was specially helpful. Work on the van was done as expected and everyone that I dealt with was super professional. Southereners are considered to be helpful and hospitable, and Friendly City Auto Repair exhibited the best of Southern hospitality. I would have given them a 6 if I could. read more

Had my car back in the shop in 24 hours and second time I picked it up my glove box was open and papers taken out and put on my floor and passenger seat. My check engine light was still on and experienced the same issue. There was no one there besides a tow driver and he could not answer any of my questions. Very disappointed when I called the fallowing day and their response was to bring it back and leave it for a few days or find a more experience mechanic. Now found a better recommendation on mechanic and it was something simple and cheap to fix. Definitely hope I'm not one of many who experience this. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Worst company in Athens. Don't go here. Ever. Cancelled my tow because they couldn't take down the right phone number. This is the 2nd time I've used them and didn't think it could get any worse then the first time where the driver showed up with his 8 yr old son, 45 min late, and tore my front bumper off because he didn't know how to put the straps on. Worst company ever! Hands down! Grandaughter had an accident. Was going to have car towed home. Said they would tow it there. Have triple A. Said I had to pay for the tow sense I hadn't called triple A yet. Told me the tow bill was going to be 250.00 dollars that was to tow it 5 miles yes five miles was told it would be 250.00 dollars AFTER they had it on the truck. Ask them to leave it & I would have some one come get it in just a bit after I called triple A. Told me no that it was on the truck & he needed 250.00 dollars to take it off the truck & leave the car at the scene of the accident. Took my car to there shop & not even to the place I wanted it which was at home. Ask how much the storage fees were sense he wouldn't leave my car there he told me there was no storage charges. Went to get my car the same day had to pay 250.00 dollars & ask about storage fees out of curiosity & they told me it was 30.00 dollars a day . These people are rude & do what they want. I did not want my car to be towed by them . I could have got my car towed for alot less. Triple A even called them & they still wouldn't let me have my car towed to my home with Triple A paying. Told Triple A I had to pay the 250.00 before I could have my car back & when Triple A called my car was in still route to their shop. I absolutely can't stand this company. I wish Triple A would drop them. There after your dollars & nothing more. Obviously they got upset simply because I didn't want them to tow it & was determined to have me pay the expense my self & wouldn't even let Triple A pay even after they called them . I think they were hoping the car would have to set there racking up storage fees. It didn't! Triple A will reimburse me also but it's the principle if them being this way. They could have just excepted letting Triple A pay. Friendly City has a contract with the county. They towed it to their shop. Their shop is not but 10 miles from the accident. FRIENDLY CITY SUCKS! I wonder if a man would have been with us if they would have acted the same way..........They will eventually do this type of thing to the wrong person . I hope it's soon. This is a small town & for some reason thay get by with this type of behavior. What goes around comes around! Worse business ever & most in & around this town will tell you the same thing. read more
