Poor Service and more. I had a service agreement…read more Comfort Zone's technician diagnosed fumes from my fireplace and he said the fireplace needed a new part. Fine, so far. Comfort Zone ordered the part and it took months to arrive -- ok, supply chain issues, I thought. Another of their technicians came but couldn't install it because he said the glass would break. Then, Comfort Zone didn't contact me at all. I had to go to their location and demand service. They sent who they called "their best technician at no cost to me". He said the perimeter was a little bent and adjusted it within a few minutes and left without checking the air quality. By this time, my fireplace had been shut down for the whole winter. This month, in preparation for this winter, I got another company in to check the fireplace and the fumes, which are a health hazard, are still there!! That's the worst part! The new company has ordered a new glass for me, which I am paying for, in full. Thank goodness for them. That was my service experience, on a service agreement.

The people were friendly and never pushy, but unfortunately they didn't seem to know what they were doing. The quality of the installation was poor. I had to diagnose and correct multiple basic installation and configuration mistakes myself, which is not something a customer should have to do after paying for a professional HVAC installation. Here are some of the issues I found after the installation: Incorrect AC wiring: The AC wires were supposed to be connected to the Goodman R-32 adapter board that was supplied with the unit. Instead, they were connected directly to the furnace control board. Because of this, the outdoor AC unit starts for about half a second every time power is restored. The installation manual, including the correct wiring diagram for the Goodman adapter board, was in the same box as the board, but it appears it wasn't followed. Incorrect thermostat wiring: The Y wire was connected to the Y2 (second-stage) terminal instead of the correct Y terminal. As a result, the blower operated at the wrong speed after installation. Blower configuration was never completed: The furnace manual clearly explains that the blower speed for each stage must be configured through the furnace control board using values from 0 to 25. It was left at the factory default of 25, which is not appropriate for this installation. I had to change it myself to 10 to match the required second-stage heating airflow, and the system now operates much more appropriately. Unnecessarily short wiring and piping: The installers cut all of the wires and piping much shorter than necessary, making it difficult or impossible to correct their installation mistakes later. There was already extra wire available, left by the previous furnace installers, so there was no reason to cut everything so short.

When they serviced my furnace, the technician said it was deficient and that it either had to be repaired or replaced. A B tag was put on it and Embridge gas was contacted. That means I had 90 days to fix the furnace or the gas would be shut off in our house. The repair bill oddly was more expensive than to replace which is quite odd. Repair was 7000. Replace was 5000. Who would you choose to repair when they can get a new one for cheaper? I decided to get a second opinion and the registered technician said it was a scam and the furnace did not need to be replaced or fixed. He had the B tag removed. He also said the quote for the repair was way above what it should be.

Despite this: Doyle refused to provide me - the actual paying customer - with any information, photos, or report about the blockage. They blamed my small pizza/wing shop for a grease clog, claiming it was "consistent with restaurant use." We do not cook with oil or fat, wipe all pans with paper towel before washing, and our grease trap was almost empty after 3 years use when cleaned days earlier. The section of piping in our store has a one way valve installed that would have likely plugged first, yet our plumbing was clear. Residential grease, laundry detergent, food waste, etc. from upstairs is far more likely. An apprentice/helper completely misrepresented a conversation, falsely telling the landlord I said our grease trap was "installed backwards" (I never said that - it was a hypothetical question to the grease trap cleaner asking what would happen if installed backwards - to which his reply was, "nothing would happen"). They failed to clear the line properly the first time and had to return, yet I was still charged for both visits. Zero transparency, inaccurate blame on my business, and poor service.
