Magical unicorn here! I visited Fright Factory this year on the final Saturday (the busiest night) before Halloween and it is well worth the money, especially when you can go alone or at most a group of two. The scare actors timed their approaches perfectly and scared the living !@#$%^&* out of me more than ten times. I was scared out of my mind at one point and thought about leaving, but I had to continue because, well, I paid for a VIP ticket! At one point, I could not see in front of me and I felt so discombobulated that I wanted to sit and calm myself down. Right after I left the haunt, I felt really nauseous. That's how scary this was. This haunt is THE BEST HAUNT IN PHILLY 2025. Eastern State Penitentiary was good. Lincoln Mill was better. But this haunt... jeez, it's on another level. Nobody's paying me to say any of this. I like going to places without someone else swaying my opinion. The scenes are really good and well thought out. Lincoln Mill tried copying one of the scenes at Fright Factory but it pales by comparison to Fright Factory. You will be scared out of your mind when the monster approaches you in it. Big props to the creepy clowns. They make Art the Clown look normal by comparison. One clown in particular had this way of approaching me that was hella creepy. I was freaked out! I timed this haunt on my smart watch at 25 minutes from start to finish. It is described as three parts/acts/sections according to their web site and other reviews. There's more to it than just thinking about the haunt as sections. If you submerge yourself into any one room for too long, you will see, as I did, how scary that could be. I was hightailing it out of certain areas as fast as I could as the monsters chased after me, sometimes for long corridors before they let up. You're looking at a much longer haunt stepwise than most other haunts. According to my smart watch, I experienced almost 4 minutes of 127+ bpm heart rate (that's super high intensity), about 11.5 minutes of 99-127 bpm heart rate (high intensity), and 11 minutes of 71-99 bpm moderate intensity. I'm an elite level athlete (#6 in the world in yoga asana competition), so your experience may differ. If you suffer from any heart or breathing conditions, be sure to get that all well-maintained before you enter this scary haunt. read more

Went last Night with a Bus Tour! My Husband and I have been to some many Haunts in so many States, and I have to say this one really put on a great show! I loved the shower area, and the actor was great! I smelled like that scene for hours! I also loved the sewer area, and once again the actress in that scene was top natch and got me with the sewer water! The Actress in the Church area was amazing and had us ( on the bus) talking about her Character for a while and were all saying how good she did! The key here is they all did an amazing job and I will be highly recommending this Haunt! read more

Ex actor for these guys. Few things, starting from least important to most. First the management dose an awful job at recruiting actors some are minors, criminals worst of all p!dos and r!pists, multiple times they have swept a sexual assault under the rug. Secondly the place is extremely unclean, mold and dust every year I worked without fail I picked up some type of sickness. And lastly it's 35$ for a 10 minute walk through you will wait in a line longer then the attraction itself. I said my piece this place sucks but mostly for the actors who are actually talented and good hearted. read more

Each Halloween we visit a bunch of spooky attractions. In 2023 we visited fright factory. The site has ample parking and a food truck parked outside. We purchased fast passes for this event but the line wasn't too bad on a Thursday night. There was ample security at the door as well. Having worked on a haunted hayride for many years it takes a lot for be to bat an eye at these attractions. The actors at this space truly seemed to be enjoying themselves and I got a lot of laughs at some of the unique scares. The other group in front of us were scared out of their minds and would often lag or run in front of us and despite that I felt that the team at fright factory did a pretty good job at managing the crowds and making sure there was a good experience. During my haunted house visit everything was going well but the asylum side was very unprofessional and broke the spooky atmosphere for the most part. In some of the rooms my group and I would walk in and see actors on their phones, as well as some rooms having a funky smell to them. The church and swamp looking area however were great, the other rooms...not so much. As well as passing by an office looking area where I expected a scare to be but nothing happened. Some of the rooms were disappointing and empty. Don't even get me started on the guy in the bathroom he should NOT be allowed to do what he's doing as it was very off putting to myself and family. read more

Past couple of years this place was the gold standard...this time around the actors were noticeably lazy and even a bit corny. They bunched us up and it really took away from the experience. I felt like they just turned the lights back on after a year and never cleaned the place. really felt dirty and we didn't much appreciate having water thrown on us that was scooped out of a toilet bowl...no matter how clean it may have been. The exit came way too fast and even the for sale merchandise was lacking...That building may be getting condemned soon. This place always ended our Halloween trips on a great note...not this time...and i feel after i skip it in 2025 it will be gone for good by 2026 read more

The mold is SO bad. For 2 days, I had black boogers when I blowed my nose. I don't recommend this place to anyone who values their health. I spent my birthday night in the ER for a 1.5 hour bloody nose and had one the day prior. I don't have allergies, so the weather change and the mold was the culprit. It smacks you in the face once you get in there. The clear plastic dividers throughout the walkways are not clear, they are covered in black mold. I don't know how that place is still operating. I feel awful for the actors that have to be in there for hours. read more

I try to visit new attractions every year instead of doing the same ones I do every year. This was a new one for me and I was excited to try it out, and I had high hopes for it. It just didn't do it for me. I'm not sure if it's because I am desensitized and I have a high scare tolerance, but it didn't blow me away and give me that wow factor I was looking for. It wasn't terrible by any means, but to me... just felt like a glorified home haunt. Most of the scenes only had 1 actor and you were walking through sets and different props. The actors in the scene didn't follow up on the scare. They got the initial scare and then kind of just fizzled out and had a normal conversation, just fell flat for me. The pricing for a ticket was reasonable. ($40 or $35 with discount code "13haunts") With that ticket, you get 3 different attractions... (so I thought) instead it's 3 different scenes that lead one into another and it's hard to differentiate when one stops and one starts. The whole attraction walkthrough was about 35 minutes. I would say this haunt is a glorified amusement park haunt (Dorney or Six Flags). The scenes, tech, and props were good. Specifically the shower scene and the church I thought those were the best ones. Overall, it was an "ok" attraction. I probably wouldn't come back here and much rather go somewhere else. We went on a Friday night around 8:15, and there was no line. I don't regret visiting because I like going through new ones, just didn't hit the mark for me. read more

I was at Fright Factory last night with some co-workers and friends. There were 9 of us. While waiting in line for tickets, one of the actors came up and rubbed his nasty ass bunny on my face, as well as on my female co-worker's face. We both separately expressed that that wasn't okay. While in line to go in, the dude came back and did the same thing to the two of us, avoiding all the dudes. We both spoke up again. He got in my face and kept doing it, and then told me I was sexy. I then told him I would punch him in his face. He continued to be aggressive and finally left. I talked to the manager, asking for his name. They told me they didn't know his name. He is a man in a haunted house with a mask and costume. We called the cops and filed a report. The manager said things like "I don't know your name so I am going to call you Young Lady". He said most people like this sort of behavior, and don't complain. Don't go here. If you have had similar experiences, please speak up. read more

I decided to check this place out after seeing it on the Travel Channel quite a few years ago. To be honest, it didn't look that great on the Travel Channel but either way, I had to check it out since it's only about an hour and 30 minutes from my house. I will say that I was pleasantly surprised. My first thought walking up to 'Fright Factory' was WOW! Look at the guy on the stilts! And he wasn't even on stilts. I guess he had the monster on his shoulder or something but it was incredible. It had huge arms and making loud noises. Just by having this creature out, that put my standards for this place even higher and I think having that is a great way to attract people and welcome them to 'Fright Factory'. I came on October 30th which was a Monday so it wasn't busy. We were probably in line for about 15 minutes if that. And there's several things I want to note about this place: PROS: 1) The actors. They are stayed in character. They were very at hiding and actually seemed excited to be there. 2) The huge rat (i think that's what it was?) animatronic that comes out from the wall. This was probably the thing that made me jump the most. It was great! 3) The huge monster skull animatronic in the middle of this one room. Once again, awesome! 4) The swamp room. It actually looks like you are swimming in a swamp. Very cool effect and probably one of the most unique things I've ever seen done in a haunted attraction. CONS: I really only have 1 con and to me, it's a major one. I understand the need for a lot of people to be going in at once during a busy night. I still don't like it but I understand it. I do not understand the need for having that happen when it wasn't busy. And I don't mean maybe a group of 5 or 6. I mean a conga line of people... to the point where a worker said, "Hold people back!" because there was SO many people. Obviously some people walk slower than others and so on but a bigger gap would be so much more appreciated on slower nights because once you have that many people, nothing is scary because you see everything ahead of you within a matter of seconds. Other than the conga line of people, it was a great attraction. I would definitely recommend it and I would probably go again within the next couple of years. Good job! read more

Overrated and overpriced lol. The line for this place was extremely long, unless you pay for the VIP tickets then there's barely any line at all. It's a few bucks more, just get it. It's worth it. We were in a group of about 15-20 people so we also got a discount. They have a security check so don't bring a lighter because it will be confiscated. smoke your choice of whatever before you get there and leave the lighter in the car. Weapons i understand, but lighters? Idk seemed a bit silly to take the lighters and say no, you can't have them back once your done since they are given to the fire Marshall lol. You can have a lighter at the airport and everyone knows TSA is super strict. Anyways, They have you go in groups of 6 (from what I remember) They tell you it's about a 30 minute experience, but it was more like 15 minutes. Now I can appreciate all the work that was put into it, Some areas looked awesome. It just wasn't scary, not sure if it's because I was in a big group. Wouldn't come back or recommend, but I guess it's the only thing in Philly. If you actually want to have an experience that is worth it, go outside of Philly lol. read more

An abattoir with bodies swinging from hooks. A steaming pile of human entrails sliding off a table. A mad doctor flaying the skin off tortured souls. Could the Fright Factory really be that intense? Not really but it was still great fun! We stopped by about 7:30 to find a lot of people buying tickets on a sweltering Friday night. There seemed to be some opening night logistics happening and we experienced a 20 minute delay before the action began. We were escorted to the first door in groups of 6. For the next 20 minutes we were paired and scared together. Long dark corridors with things that go bump in the night. Asylum patients jump from dark recesses to beg for salvation. Did something just grab my leg? Yup, that might happen in this house of horrors. Of course the best way to get the maximum effect is to check your rational mind at the door and just let yourself go. The wife and I did just that and had a fine time! It's clear that this place is going to be a popular destination this Halloween season. It can be tough to find and a GPS will help to ease that pain. Expect parking to be a bit of a challenge. Never the less, it will be a fun weekend event for families with impressionable kids! read more

indoor fright! If you aren't for being outdoors at a farm to get scared than this is the place for you. This place is located in an abandoned factory building in Philly. I was a bit scared just driving on the street it was located but eventually figured it out. I had a lot of fun. We got there as it opened on a sunday night and were highly impressed as to how scared we got and had a lot of fun. We had our fright picture taken which was funny to look at when the evening was over. They had a good 4 sections to scare you and were creative in their themes for each event. I highly recommend this place as an indoor fright factory I haven't seen any other indoor places that match up to it all my other experiences were outdoors. Go early be the first to enter the place so you don't waste your time being in lines all night. Look for the coupons to get into this place cheaper than the rest. Living social had a few this year. Avg regular price is $30 most haunted places are about the same price. read more

Waited 2 hours in a slow line to be told when we reached the front that their electricity shut off and they were done for the night. I think it was a lie because it was 11pm on a Saturday when they "closed". They should have cut off the line a long time ago. The line was poorly run and badly organized. I went here with my two 14 year old girls. Holy cow did we scream!! We all have sore throats now, lol. My one daughter dropped to her knees at one point she got so scared. These girls love murder mysteries, read serial killer stuff, watch scary movies, etc. I'm the only one that jumps and screams during the movies. They're not the faint of heart kids. But you guys had all of us and we LOVED IT. My other girl kept asking to leave in the middle and when we finally did leave, she was asking to go back! If both girls asked to leave, I would have, because I was freaking out lol. I don't know what is up with these negative reviews, yall did not go through this place. I was hesitant to go because of some of the reviews, so I asked the girls what they wanted to do after telling them about the reviews and they both said yes. I am SO GLAD we went. Everyone did an AMAZING JOB!! Thank you!! As we were going back to the car my heart would not slow down and my legs were shaking. I will say this - all you moms of teenagers, want to rewind time? This place is so good! I've been coming for the past few years and this year was even better! I have been going to other local haunted attractions - TBTW and Pennhurst Asylum specifically - but Fright Factory is still the best. Reasons why I think it's the best: - There are no breaks so once you enter, the adrenaline builds and builds with no chance to catch your breath, keeping you terrified all the way through. - They are pretty good at keeping groups separate from one another so that the people in front of you don't end up "ruining the scare" ahead of you. These may seem like trivial things, but they made the difference to me! Honorable mentions: the very first hallway you have to walk through (I dont want to ruin it but that started things off on such a good note for me :)), and the "swamp" (there was a moment of panic among me and my friends). read more

I loved that they allowed just my sister and me to go through the attraction without others in our group. There is nothing worse than a group of 10 and groups too close together to completely ruin all the surprises. They also let us go through one section alone...which resulted in me walking into walls in the pitch black and nobody to help guide me! The "asylum" is split into 4 segments and takes about an hour to get through the whole thing. Unfortunately, this means about 15 minutes of haunted house and 45 minutes of lines between each segment - once you're already inside. This definitely cost Fright Factory their final star. After the first segment, I was very confused why I was in another line and felt like it ruined the scary vibe I was getting into. All in all the actors are good - they have lots of small female actors that I kept thinking had to be props until they jumped out at me! Some parts are so dark that you're eyes are straining to see figures around you (read : I ran into the wall) but it makes it so much better when the actors sneak up on you. Overall I thought it was pretty scary and definitely got quite a few screams out of me and I would definitely recommend this over many other haunted houses. P.S. went on a Sunday night around 8:30pm and it took in total about 1.5 hours (including the line outside of the factory and the one hour attraction). P.P.S. Want to beat the lines. Do what we did, arrive 10 minutes before they stopped ticket sales on a friday night. Not only did we not have to hear the running and screaming from nearby parties if there were other people there, we didn't have to patiently wait in line, and just knowing that we were the only ones there in a warehouse with monsters gets to you just a bit. I'm giving the experience 3 stars.... mainly for effort, the props were great, the actors and actresses played their part and they put alot of work into it. Was I completely scared... no. The maze is split up into 4 sections. After the 1st section I wasn't screaming anymore. More like casually walking and at the same time ready to expect the unexpected - like a person who casually runs by you screaming from behind or someone waiting for you in a room ready to invade your personal space. After about the 3rd section I had about enough. The creepiest of them all I must say is the girl waiting for you in the beat down restroom setup. She moved all freakishly like the girl from ring. That and just the personal fear of going into a dimly lit public restroom to meet the same fate is just scary enough. 4th section is completely dark. You're left feeling your way through. All in all. I give them many hi fives for effort. I just can't say that I was honestly scared. Everything was almost expected, from the props that jump out at you to the man on the gurney bound to spring up and scream. :o/ meh. read more

This wasn't the worst Halloween event I've been to, but I feel like it has a long way to go before it really can be considered major league. I did like being able to purchase VIP tickets that let us cut the line outside. That saved us a good hour of time. The costumes were decent but for some reason, it just wasn't scary. I think what really killed it for me was when I asked one of the actors a question, he broke character. For the price, I'd rather travel to Lancaster and hit Jason's Woods and Field of Screams again. read more

Let me say that the Fright Factory was the second only scary maze-like place I've ever been too (first one being the Van Helsing one in Florida I believe). We got a good deal at about $21 per person for a group of four on Groupon, so price-wise through the discount was really affordable. They also offer student discounts. The place itself is a little inconspicuous, but for those in the area it is not too far from the IKEA there. Parking is ridiculously hard to find, and the line to get in is very long (we waited two hours). However, the course itself was really long and we got scared plenty of times. They also post pictures of you on their Facebook for you to find. All in all, nice place to go for a scare. read more

My friends were sexually harassed by an actor last night. Manager acted like he couldn't do anything about it and pretended not to know who the actor was. Rumor has it these actors are not paid and I wonder if they're vetted at all to work there. They made a police report and I encourage anyone who's had a similar experience to do the same. These attractions are supposed to be fun, instead my friends' night was ruined by these unprofessional people. Working in a haunted house is not license to touch women. Inexcusable. read more

The fright factory was a fun outing. The fright factory is very atmospheric which sets you up for some nice scares. It's perfect for a date night. Don't expect Hollywood level special affects but it's scary enough. I would do it again next year for sure. read more

So overall it was a great experience. Took us about 15 minutes to walk through the entire thing. The actors were awesome...they stayed in character the entire time. The makeup and costumes and all around set up of everything was great. It's in a factory so it kind of gives off a smell of mildew but it also increased the scare effect, kind of like an old dirty basement. We also got there right when they opened so there was no wait or line...which should be a great thing for most people unless you're trying to work yourself up to get the courage to go in. The only thing I wish they would hold off on sending groups in because depending on how slow the group in front of you walks, you end up catching up to them and then seeing the scare happen in front of you and not to you. But like I said overall it was a great experience. Definitely worth a try. read more

Maybe it was because it was a Sunday but Fright Factory really didn't scary me that much. I've been to Bate's Motel and Hayride and there is really no comparison. Fright Factory didn't even come close. For those who don't have many options in the city or get scared easily then you'll probably like it. I though the price was reasonable. $30 regular admissions, $25 for student with ID, etc. Only con other than scare factor was the different staging areas inside. Extremely dreadful 'haunted attraction'. I bought VIP tickets to come visit here last night and the only thing i got was pissed off and disappointed. It was so terrible. The whole walk through was really spread far apart with people. We walked through five rooms with not even one actor trying to scare us. We got to one part and the actress soaked my boyfriend and i with water- not cool. There was not one thing great about this attraction including the parking and 45 minute drive down there. I should have went with my instinct and gone to the Bates Motel. I will not be returning, ever. How this made it to TV? it's beyond me.
