I'd recommend saving money and only buying one or two pairs for a family or group. You won't want to wear them full time anyway and can just take turns viewing specific exhibits with the glasses on. They also offer military discount. Like others have said, the staff doesn't really explain how to do the puzzle. We didn't end up doing it but, but it seems to be some clues hidden in each room to solve a mystery such as reading the Mayor's emails on the computer on his desk. Its like walking through an old school point and click computer game and finding clues. Other World is definitely fun experience for kids and adults. Its expensive but worth trying once. I am not sure why people would get annual passes but they sell them.

this place is trippy af!…read more i ended up on a date here a few weeks ago and this was a really nice spot. the colorful and artsy nature makes this place a hellvua place if you are an adult over 21 who prefers to be..... under the influence -- of happiness and joyful experiences; or if you are compelled to imbibe in mind enhancing substances. i found this was not the best place for smaller kids. although i saw a lot of chicks with babies. some even in swaddlers -- like newborns. imo-- kids maybe 8 and up will really enjoy the colorful and cool nature of the rooms. i enjoyed the ability to touch everything and take the full experience. the rooms were way cool and the concept is really quite amazing. these large scale interactive pieces really made the exhibits quite fun! my favorite room was the hair room iykyk! all in all i really enjoyed the venue, the location was in a great spot and there was ample free parking. we stayed for about 4 hours which was plenty of time to take it all in! New theatre is alive and well in Philadelphia! The show and storytelling were not dramaturgically perfect, but as an audience member and artist, perfection for me always lays in the pursuit. The cast of artists PTC consistently assembles is top notch, and I can't wait to get out and see more of their season offerings. Thank you for bringing eclectic storytelling to our great city! If you're visiting or a local and PCT has something on you're even remotely interested in, get out there and support locally crafted theatre in a stunning and iconic venue.

I especially love the Yelp Elite perk of being invited on opening night. This evening marked two firsts for me. In the past this was a Yelp Elite Event for squad members only. This time we were invited individually and allowed a plus one. And much to my surprise my guest and I got front row seats. They usually have a nice little cocktail hour after the show that mostly consists of beer, wine, crudites and cheese boards. I was impressed to find some serious hor d'oeuvres this time around. Macaroni and cheese balls, chicken sliders, skewered beef tenderloin. All it was delicious. Wonderful experience.

This is a lot of fun if you're looking for something weird and random to do, and with so many floors you can spend a good amount of time here.

I didn't know what to expect but I really enjoyed myself. As for the portion of the house I could see, it was impressive. A house with lots good sized of rooms. Each room displayed pre and civil war era decor, As per the time heavy, dark and opulent. I found the staff inviting and edifying. Our tour included 10 rooms: parlor, dining area, kitchen, library, mother's day room, mother's bed room, husband's bedroom, husband's bathroom, children's room, and billiards room. I've toured other family homes including the Ford Family estate in Grosse Pointe, MI (60 rooms) so I think I had different expectations.That's my own fault though for not researching more about the home. Note: you are unable to take photos inside the house, although this seems to be common practice when touring family homes. The house itself was an interesting piece of history and our tour guide was incredibly informed. Great quality, 5 stars. The reason the overall score is so low is because of my experience with the Executive Director. Very poor, 0 stars. I second Celic's comments of interacting with someone rude. My friends and I were waiting for her to process my Groupon payment, so I asked a couple of questions about the family while we waited at the bottom of the stairs. When Joan was in the middle of explaining, the director (who was in another room) snapped at me and said, "If you'd actually give Joan a chance to explain, she'll get to what you're wondering about. So hold your questions until the end." It is like she mistook asking a question as an insult to the quality of the tour instead of interest and excitement in what Joan was talking about. In case you're reading this- a more gracious way to handle this would be: 1) Explaining before the tour begins to hold questions until the end. 2) A reminder to come from THE TOUR GUIDE using language such as "That's a great question. And we're going to talk about that more when we enter the children's room. So let me know if you have any more unanswered questions about the family at that time." They have some interesting events that happen throughout the year - and I'm contemplating attending - but frankly the thought of having a possible negative interaction (again) with the director might be enough to keep me from spending more money here.

The show itself was geared towards late 20's but I think anyone can enjoy it. Told through a series of phone conversations, it was an interesting play. The theater itself was easy to find. They had strict COVID restrictions that included showing your vax card and requiring to wear your mask. I think people who enjoy theater don't have a problem with this kind of request but if it does bother you, go elsewhere. The riser seating section is not very big so it's a pretty intimate setting. They had all gender bathrooms that were clean. Very close to the BSL so easily accessible to most people in the city. I can't wait for another excuse to come see a show here.

Theatre Exile put up a great production of "Glengary Glen Ross" in Spring 2007 and the space was another hidden treasure. The cast was filled with tenured actors that gave unique performances that came together in a singular production. It was my first show with this production company and if it was at all representative of their other shows, you'll definately see me going back to see more productions in the future. The mission of this company is to "produce risky and challenging plays that contain a sense of true Philadelphian grittiness and passion" by staging both new and established works. In addition, their focus is on letting tenured and up and coming artists work their craft while trying to find themselves as theatre artists. After speaking with someone on the phone over at the Theatre Exile box office, it was confirmed that they have and will probably continue to use the theater at the Christ Church Neighborhood House at 20 N. American Street. Ready for another suprise venue like Latvian Society theater (see my review for Pig Iron Theatre Company)? Well, on the THIRD floor of this church, there is a former basketball court that has been transformed into a black box theater. Imagine, the half court line is the edge of the stage. One half of the space is a platform with folding chairs as seats (nearly 100 or maybe more), and the other half is all space for the actors to play. It was rather stunning as the bare wood frame for the building is exposed and painted black. So, now for the things to watch for: This theater is NOT handicap accesible. No elevator and a lot of walking (check to see if everyone in your party is capable of walking up several flights of stairs). Bathrooms for men are located in the basement meaning that you'll be going down four floors. Late seating is often not possible as the stage is only 5 feet away from the front row. This company is one of the major players in the Philadelphia area. Make sure you make it to a show if you're in the area. Tickets are normally priced between $15-$40 and there are discounts available for students/seniors as well as Philly FunSaver discounts.

We were busy during most of the day, so we headed over a bit later, once the day had started to cool down, to grab dinner from some of the food trucks and a beer or two from the beer garden. I was totally impressed by the setup - lots of inflatables for the kids, a decent selection of food trucks, and scattered vendors in tents, plus a large area flagged off for the adults. There was a crowd, but we didn't have to wait in line for anything, and we easily found a high top table to stand while we ate and drank. Not exactly sure who we caught on stage, but the music was good, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Overall the event was well organized and fun, and I'm feeling lucky to have moved so close!

This is the second year that I have attended PIFA events. Wasn't a big fan of modern dances that we…read moresaw last year, but I was totally amazed by the creative, amusing, and funny Cristal Palace Performed by Transe Express featuring Nobuntu. The show was set on the Schuylkill river banks, in a area that is separated by fences and include three stations of audience seating, vendors, toilets, and such. It was raining (unfortunately) on the day of the show, and there was some technical difficulties with the sound system, but the crew still tried their best to put on a great show. The chandelier with the band was definitely an amazing piece of art. The dance and performance mix together modern dance, satire comedy, and acrobat.... they dancers/performers would come down from the stage to dance with people in the audience... Overall, it was both elegant and funny. What a great piece of art!

I loved that they blocked off Broad and rolled out some grass for some nice green space in this urban jungle, but the presence of food and actual art was lacking. The food selections were mainly just the normal carnival fare, which was disappointing seeing as Philadelphia is know for it's amazing food. There are so many food truck options in this city, I was just very much disappointed. In regards to the "art" aspect, there were some artists doing live works, but I didn't really get that "Art fest" vibe I was expecting, with stalls highlighting local artist's works, etc. Overall it was cool, but more so geared towards families and their children which is fine, but I was expecting different. My boyfriend and I stayed for about a half hour, decided it wasn't our scene and hopped on the MFL to head to Fishtown for the "Festivale."
