Beware of transparency/communication issue with Frisbee. When the tech came, we asked him to check out the air units and let us know what he recommends. He came back in and said it is cooling now and that he filled it with refrigerant. He did not ask us or let us know before putting refrigerant in it and we did not mention putting refrigerant in it, so that was as surprise. They sent us a surprise bill for a house call, labor and refrigerant we did not want. We were leaning towards replacing the old unit by then, which we did with a different business. I will give them credit for offering to take back the refrigerant at least, but the other business took the old units away before I saw the bill. read more

What a bunch of thieves dressed like plumbers. My sister needed a new flapper installed and they ended up replacing everything in the toilet that wasn't porcelain, even the supply line. Her toilet weas running intermittently, so why in the hell would you replace the supply line. On top of replacing a bunch of parts that didn't need to be replaced, they charged her $265/hr. Her bill ended up being over $300 when the only thing that needed to be done was replace a flapper. read more

They had the motor in stock for my air condition unit and their parts department was open after five so I was able to get the parts and had my air conditioner back up and running again the day it broke down. The parts department was very knowledgeable and gave me good advice on replacing the capacitor to help insure future repairs and success with getting it up and running. I am very grateful to have them here in Sioux Falls and would go there for any future need for parts that arises in the future read more

We are 4 years into a new construction house with all HVAC and plumbing completed by Frisbees as a sub-contractor. They designed all components of the plumbing, heating and cooling. Everything down to the toilets and fixtures was sold and installed by them. Since the time we took ownership: Multiple service calls for water softener not working at all. Multiple service calls to to discover hot water recirculating pump installed backwards for hot water loop, against a one-way valve. Multiple service calls for UV light failure on furnace. Frisbees was sub-contracted again for basement finish just 2 years ago and during the fitting of downstairs plumbing. New piping was attached to the cold water lines that contained debris, wood shavings, etc, and then turned on. This debris over a few short weeks, managed to travel to an elbow and reducer to the master shower resulting in a complete loss of pressure on the cold line. Since the shower used a pressure-balancing valve, the loss of pressure on cold side, means no water on hot side. Months of back and forth with home contractor and Frisbees resulted in some debris being pulled from the system and drywall, painting and other work left to fix. 2 years later this problem still exists and is worked around only by engaging other faucets earlier in the cold loop to reduce back-pressure on the debris which sometimes allows us to use the shower. We will have to start tearing things down and replacing entire segments of the plumbing lines to fix at our own expense when we can find an honest and trustworthy contractor. Spoiler... there isn't one here that many of us can afford or get on the schedule for. And now, my final straw, the last punch, no mas. I called 3 weeks ago to get on automatic schedule for furnace and A/C maintenance and a technician was dispatched a few days later. During the cleaning/maintenance, a part that was displaying faults previously, failed permanently resulting in a loss of heating. Another technician was sent an hour or so later to troubleshoot further and he determined that the inducer motor was faulty but under warranty. We were informed that carrier does not stock this part with dealers, requires an extensive red-tape process to get a replacement, and has a 6-hour hold time for carrier support on the phone. We were told not to worry and and it would be submitted asap as they have all info needed and we could expect about a week to wait. Fortunately we have a gas fireplace to hold us over but its more fashion than function we quickly discovered and we needed to purchase several space heaters quickly while temps stayed below freezing during such an opportune moment. After more than a week and a half passed, I called in to find out what was going on after several more days. Frisbees was able to confirm they received the part on Saturday and that I was second on the list to have it installed on Monday..... wow. Less than 48 hours after the replacement part was installed and system is back and running I get the best part of every interaction with Frisbees. If you don't know, just calling them is $85. Asking for the annual heating checkup is another $55. The best part, the part covered under warranty, is another $100! If i am not mistaken, this is fraud. Is Carrier charging for parts replaced under warranty also? What exactly does warranty mean when you just have to repurchase whatever failed and pay for all associated services again? But wait there's more....not even the next morning our furnace has a whole problem. It is currently sitting in a pool of its own fluids (water?) that is pooling nicely towards the finished portion of our basement. Who needs power-ball with this kind of luck? A new technician is dispatched who arrives and ultimately performs the annual cleaning we were led to believe was completed on the first visit that we were charged for. He had to replace all the PVC piping that allows the moisture and water to drain away from the furnace. In August 2022, Frisbees had an annual revenue of 24 million dollars according to a simple web search. Don't be fooled by the marketing jingles, family-owned since blah blah blah, a trusted part of your community BS. Your money is the only goal and they they will pass every last red cent of their expenses back onto you for every single interaction you have. I've had to fight tooth and nail just to have everything working properly for the first time yet without paying for the service all over again. If you do try to call, you'll be transferred to Mark, a liar, who will say anything to get you off the phone with a promise of a call back that never happens. We still have a bill to pay, furnace no longer runs quietly or as efficiently as before so shame on me again for the misplaced trust. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Incredibly disappointed in the "service" I was provided, if you can call it that. I had called asking for a second opinion to replace my shower handle. The man came out (he was very nice, I will give him that) but was late to my appointment scheduled from 1-4:30--not even getting to my house until 5 pm. Looked at it and essentially said it couldn't be done. My hope was that he would be able to offer some insight and solutions and what the cost entailed with that would be. Instead, he had to call and make a second appointment for an estimate (which I ended up canceling thank god). For absolutely no service and no professional opinion, I was charged $106. I called to explain my dissatisfaction and was told I was billed the flat rate for a service call plus his time. The flat rate for him to come in by house and do absolutely nothing and provide no information was $75. They ended up not charging for the time but i did have to pay the $75 fee which was an ungodly amount for what I was provided. I ended up going with Krohmer who was able to fix the handle in less than an hour at an affordable price. Would recommend Krohmer hands down. I should also add that I got an opinion from Top Dog Plumbing and when they were not able to provide a solution that day, they didn't charge me. A flat $75 fee with no exceptions for when services and opinion can't be provided is just crazy to me. read more

I scream to get his attention he then stops barely missing killing my kids. Then rolls window down to call me the "Asshole" . I will never use this company with such low rent employees. I was an emergency situation, my main water valve broke and I needed assistance immediately because it was an after-hours call. They would not send a person out because I have never done business with them in the past. Even when I offered to pay more money. Our furnace went out and I called to schedule an appointment. They were able to get us in that same day. When you call they don't let you know any pricing. Well, it turns out they charge a $75.00 fee just to come out plus any labor that is needed, which in our case was $75.00. So, for less than an hours work it cost $150 plus the part. Not impressed. I wasn't real happy. They should tell you up front that the labor is different than the service call. read more

They came to check out a plumbing issue but were not able to fix it. Still, they charge me nearly $300 just for the time! I appealed asking them to lower it but they said no. Last time I use them. I would caution anyone to make sure you agree to cost ahead of time because as they showed me, they will not be reasonable about results versus cost once they bill you. read more

Absolutely terrible on service. They said they would get back to me on a project quote last March. I called and they finally came out in May, did some measurements and said they would get back to me. It is July and they still have not replied. Their plumbing service sucks. I wouldn't use them for anything. They have more excuses and no concern for the customer. Ya know when the guys come out to the house they are nothing but genuine and helpful. My frustration with Frisbees is their service depot telling me time after time that they'll call you back for whatever reason and they don't. I have had to chase them down at every turn and then they tell you things like "If one of our guys isn't there by noon then you call us". Really, how about you make sure your guys are where they're supposed to be, I have a job and making sure your techs are where they're supposed to be isn't it. That's your job! Do not recommend as the guy who came out did not want to do anything. Needed kitchen faucet fixed and venting to be looked at but he does not climb on roofs and definitely won't be going into attics. Said I would need to request someone else. After some pressure, he did fix one small thing on the faucet. Asked him about a couple of other things and approximate costs, but he could not tell me and would have to check. He basically was trying to get another appointment set up in order to charge more. Failures of furnace motor, sump pump, and an expensive geothermal system with electrical bills the same as a regular furnace-$300/400 for 2100 sqft home. No customer recovery. Used them when building and I had to stop them at the building site from putting the sink hole in the right spot. Charged $115 to turn a bolt on a leaky faucet. Compare their service rates with others, a neurosurgeon charges less. read more

Needed them to come out to service our furnace that wasn't working. Didn't show up when they said they would and called an hour after the arrival window passed asking to move my appointment to the next day. Luckily, we were able to get the furnace up and running ourselves because they never showed up the second time either. On Nov 27, night time, my gas furnace was not heating. Next day was Thanksgiving so i was worried of not getting it fixed because I knew no one like to work on holiday. So I have called this Frisbee 24-hour service and after almost 2 hours a tech guy came in and checked my furnace. He said my furnace was too old and need a replacement and he couldn't fix it. My family endured 2 very cold nights before I could get other technician help. On Nov 29 I called a guy from PIC Heating and Cooling. He got it fixed by replacing the igniter and my furnace works great since then. Should I pay Frisbee for their failed service? read more

We originally contacted them and got a quote for them to do all of the plumbing and install work on finishing our basement bathroom (just studded in previously). Then we rethought it, decided we could do some of the smaller work (like setting the vanity and sink) ourselves. So we went in, told them about the changes to what we'd like them to do, and picked out the shower we wanted. My husband provided them with measurements of how much concrete work would be needed (in order to put in the shower where we wanted it) and a 2D CAD drawing of the room, plus the head installer - or whatever his title is - came and did his own measurements and spoke with my husband before he got us the quote. The person who came to our house to do the installation was late (though we did receive a call that he was running late on another job). No big deal. He showed up at 11 a.m., and then we realized he wasn't aware of the changes to the original quote that we had made. He also wasn't aware of the amount of concrete he would need to break up, and hadn't brought the correct tools. The people who had dropped off the piping, etc., had also brought the wrong stuff. So he stood around for at least two hours, waiting for the head installer to come and go through things with him, and then had to get the correct piping, tools, etc., before he could begin work. The man who completed the installation was not professional at all. We could hear him on the main floor, down in the basement, yelling and swearing repeatedly at whatever he was trying to do. He also, while carrying black pipe down our stairs, marked up our walls badly. We are hopeful it comes off with just washing it. Otherwise we'll have to repaint and hope we can match the current paint color, since it's been more than 5 years. The installer also gouged our wall and woodwork with his ladder, so we'll have to use plaster and paint that part anyway. The work took longer than it should have, partially because of some communication problems between the installers and the rest of the people at the business and partially because an inspector was supposed to be scheduled for the second day, but evidently never was. So he had to come back on the third day and wait for the inspector, who made him fix at least one thing (that supposedly was a recurrent problem with this installer). And, of course, we were charged for those extra three hours on the third day that he really didn't do anything except wait for the inspector. The last straw for us was when we got our bill. We unfortunately assumed, from having worked with electricians, plumbers, etc., in the past, that we would automatically receive an itemized bill. We did not. (The original bill also reflected the original quote, not the one with changes, so it was a "work in progress" bill and not a final bill, which we had to explain and correct.) After we had gotten that miscommunication figured out (and in all fairness, they did take off $50 from the bill for gouging our wall with the ladder) we also asked for an itemized bill. Little did we know that THAT would be a huge deal with Frisbees. We weren't disputing the money. We just wanted to know exactly what we were paying for (how much pipe, fittings, hours worked, etc.) and also just to keep for our records. We didn't care about their cost per hour or anything like that. After two phone calls discussing it, my husband went down to Frisbees to talk to the head installer, who seemed confused at first with what exactly we wanted (how hard is it to figure out what an "itemized bill" is?) and then argued with him over providing one. My husband pushed back, and the guy finally said, "Fine," and then turned and walked away, leaving my husband standing in the middle of the show floor. We did finally get an itemized bill (which was obviously just printed out from the computer, since they need to keep track of all that information, anyway) and paid them. And let's just say that's the last time we ever do business with them. read more

Their office workers that set up the appointment, & took my follow-up calls were great. Unfortunately, the service at my home was dismal. Our heater had worked fine all winter, but the AC wouldn't get cold enough when the temps rose. Their tech came out and replaced the fan motor on our Central AC unit ($400), & when inspecting everything else said our unit in the basement was wired incorrectly. He told me that he corrected it, though. Of course, the SD Spring season turned cold again, but now our heater would not turn on at all, even though one week earlier it had worked fine. When I contacted Frisbee's to inquire, they said the tech would be here the next day. When I got home from work, things were unchanged, so I called Frisbee's back. He said he HAD been here, & it was working fine. I asked for him to return, since we still didn't have heat, and he informed me that now water wasn't draining properly from the unit. He "took care of that now," he said. He said he added a new draining tube. Now we had heat, but when the temperatures rose, our pipes that fed into our basement unit would get condensation that would freeze eventually, and stop all cooling. Then I received a bill for $140 for the water draining issue. When I called to tell them that we had no condensation issues until their tech "re-wired" our unit correctly, they did waive the $140, even though they felt it was a separate issue that I just didn't understand. They said they would re-send the tech, & I said no thank you. We contacted a different company that came & inspected. They did see the new fan, but there was no evidence of a new draining tube that I was told was installed. Funnily enough, he said all it needed was some re-wiring to run at the correct RPMs, & it is now working fine. I give two stars because of their understanding & waiving the second visit fee, & being apologetic & polite. But, the actual service was one star, or less. read more

Visited their storeroom on 2/10/2018 and picked out a new toilet. Repeatedly told the salesperson that either 2/16/2018 or 2/19/2018 would work for me as a delivery & install date as I could take off work due to the President's day holiday. The salesperson sent me out the door without booking it, and told me I would be getting a call. (Another salesperson was evidently booking a customer while I was in store.) I received a call within 30 minutes confirming my delivery & installation day for 2/16/2018 in the morning. Fast forward to 2/16/2018. I call the store at 11 am, wondering where my install is. I'm told that I'm on the schedule for Friday 2/23/2018. Unacceptable. The best the service manager can offer is after hours installation. If you had after hours installation, then I would have scheduled after hours installation and gone into work. My time for the day is worth $300 plus benefits. Not acceptable. I cancelled the order. I'll take my work to somebody who can do the job right from the start, and I strongly suggest everyone else do the same. read more

We have used Frisbees a few times in the last couple of years and the service was always great. This time was no different. Russ was at our door within minutes of when we were told to expect him. Very personable and very professional. He diagnosed the problem in seconds and got the part he needed. The whole job only seemed to take 15 minutes or so. In addition, he informed us that the part that he replaced was under warranty and we wouldn't have to pay for the part. This was great as we were unaware of any warranty. He saved us $50. Would highly recommend Frisbees to anyone with plumbing/heating or AC needs. read more

I really hate to write this but I there is no other outlet. And YELP comes up right after Frisbee Plumbing and Heating on Google. Our troubles started when it was time to install. The tub is jetted and for some reason that took 2 full 8 hour days to install. The tub ended up with a broken corner which had to be repaired. The access panel's clips were then broken and we had to bring it up. When they took it to have it repaired it took many many phone calls and requests to get it back. When it was returned it was just ehhh. It still sits on our tub crooked. When the other items were to be installed it took 3 attempts to get someone to actually come. I sat home 2 afternoons (just love burning my PTO) for them to be NO SHOWs. On the 3rd attempt they did arrive and the rest of the bathroom fixtures were then installed (sink, toilet, shower set). Excitement and curiosity made me want to try things out (jetted tub). Got into a nice hot bath and pushed the button to start and nothing! GRRRR I then called them back frustrated that things weren't checked to see if they work after installing. They did send someone, he figured it out and groaned about how the company never giving him the training on whirlpool tubs so my guess with what was wrong was as good as his. He did end up figuring it out but when he was leaving he was "pretty sure I have to charge you". So after about 20 minutes of back and forth it was straightened out - not to charge me! Bottom line - I didn't appreciate burning PTO for 3 afternoons in total and all the run around that accompanied this. I don't think that in the future I'd ever hire them. I however think that I would let people know what type of service they provide. read more

We have been longstanding customers of Frisbee's and unfortunately have had a string of unsatisfactory service calls that have prompted me to write this recommendation. The last few plumbers that have been sent out have been unprepared for the call and needed to make multiple trips back to the store for parts (all on my dime). This despite having been told the need for the call at the time of scheduling! Taking 2 hours to install a faucet is unacceptable. A call to the office regarding this was also dismissed- insinuating that I was lying about this as the service trucks are GPS tracked and the records on my service call were checked and they could not see that this had happened. I only complained on the last service call however as I think back on the last few times Frisbee's has been out in the last couple of years the service trucks have always had to make trips "back to the shop". At the rate they charge per hour for labor this is a nice way for them to pad their pockets. read more

Had them come out and inspect our AC as well as fill the freon. The service was great and they were able to come out that same day. I was so happy with their service that I called back so that I could have them put in a new furnace return in our basement. Got transferred to that department and spoke with the department manager for an estimate. His name was Mark. Mark had me text him some pictures so he could provide a better quote. After that he stopped returning text messages and wouldn't answer voice mails. When I call Frisbee back they say I must speak with Mark regarding the new return. I've since contacted Schempp and they're sending a person out to give me an estimate. None of this texting pictures BS either. I will be replacing our AC unit in the next couple of years. I had originally hoped Frisbee could help us with that work. But, since they seeming don't want our business I'll be having that work done elsewhere. read more
