We needed a new roof for a rental property. We received 4 estimates that ranged greatly in price. Since the property was a rental we were glad to see that Frisby quoted us for both a 25 year shingle and a 40 year shingle. It was nice to have options, especially if you are on a budget. When Frisby came out to do their pre-inspection, the young man that was there noticed storm damage on the roof and Frisby notified us before the scheduled install. Frisby came out and met the insurance adjustor and we discussed our options. Prior to this we had part of the fascia board pulling away from the home and it needed repair. We had already got 2 estimates, between $650 and $875, during that meeting we asked the young man from Frisby if that is something they could fix and how much. He noticed that the problem was actually caused by the power line that was attached to the house. The power line was connected to a utility pole at the street and the pole was starting to lean. This was causing the line that was connected to the fascia board to pull tight and pull the fascia board away from our house. We had 2 prior estimates that never mentioned that. Our Frisby guy was spot on and I called the energy company and they agreed to fix the fascia board and replace the pole at the street. He could have easily tried to give me an estimate to earn more money, but he was honest and most helpful, seeing something no one else noticed. The day of the roof install, the temps were in the 90's and the crew worked fast and completed the house and detached garage in one day. They cleaned up as expected and did a great job. I received a courtesy call from Frisby the next day to make sure I was happy with the job they did. Throughout the whole process I was notified each week of where I was on the schedule. Everyone was most helpful and truly a pleasure to work with. I even recommended them to my dad, who also had a roof put on. I would highly recommend this company and when my primary home is ready for a roof, I will be calling them. read more

I received a flyer back in December with looked to be a great deal on a roof for my home. I wasn't ready to do it quite yet, but contacted them in April. They were willing to honor the pricing still. I decided to get a few other quotes to see what other companies would charge for the same thing. I got two other quotes from reputable companies in town that were almost double the price. Well, I have always said you get what you pay for, so I did my homework on Frisby Construction to make sure other buyers were happy and had no issues. Almost all of the feedback I read was positive, and when it wasn't there was a reply from the owner of Frisby with his side of the story, and was always a professional response. That showed me this company really cared about the quality of their work. I also discovered they are a company with Christian leadership and values, which also put me at ease. I made the purchase at that point by stopping into their office / showroom and signing a contract. The employees were very professional and knowledgable. I was called the next day with acknowledgement of my purchase and with an explanation of what to expect and the time frames. Again, very professional. I was also kept informed at least once a week with a phone call of status and expected date for them to do the work. The roof was installed 2 weeks ago, and everything went as they said. There crew was friendly, and did the job in about 9 hours. They cleaned up the nails and debris around the house as expected, prior to leaving. I did have one concern that I called the supervisor about before the crew was done, and it was immediately addressed and resolved to my satisfaction. There were no add-on costs or additional charges to do the work, so no "bait & switch" to get more money out of me. I contracted with Frisby Construction for some flooring work (new ceramic tile, bamboo floating floors and some other minor repairs to the woodwork & wall), after they had put a new roof on our house. The roofing job went really well, so I thought the construction work would go the same. Wrong! The person giving you the quote and contract, apparently doesn't communicate with the subcontractors they hire out (at least that's what the subcontractors tell you)....they don't even have their own employees for this work. I gave them a deposit in May, and was told they could start in 6 -8 weeks. Only after I asked for my deposit back, because it was well over the 8 weeks and I had heard nothing from them, did I get a start date of August. It then took them 5 MONTHS to complete the project! I then had to withhold the last payment until they would come out and fix an issue with flooring. Every time I would ask for something to be fixed correctly, I heard nothing but complaints and how it couldn't possibly be their workmanship. The project was finally completed at the end of Dec. In February, I contacted them because one of the bamboo floor boards was coming apart along the edge (and this particular board had been pointed out to the worker when it was first laid, and of course he stated it was supposed to be like that...raised up on the edge.) Now it's coming apart, and they claim I either damaged it, or it's a mfg defect, for which neither they are responsible to fix and I would have to pay for the repair. (I understand if I damaged the floor I would be responsible, but it would take a lot, to damage this type of floor, and of which I know I didn't cause the issue). Are they joking!?!?! If I have to pay for the repair, then I am going to hire someone that knows what they're doing! Buyer beware!!!! read more

We found out we needed to replace the roof on our home that we were in the middle of remodeling. Luckily we had received their ad in the mail, and we called them first. Nobody could beat their price! We were able to schedule our initial appointment with them within a week based around our busy schedule, and our appointment was fast and easy. They weren't pushy at all, and explained everything to us. We've had to work with a lot of contractors on this home, and they were by far the best! They kept us updated on the progress of scheduling our install date, and they didn't bombard us with ridiculous amounts of phone calls. This was the first time we've ever had to buy a roof, and they made the entire process so incredibly easy. I would recommend them to every single person, time and time again. They were also able to get everything done in LESS time than what they had estimated which was a huge bonus! I also want to mention that, due to rainy conditions, our install date was pushed back about a week. That was absolutely no problem. This company can't predict the weather, and they need it to be dry (and safe!) in order to complete the install. They shouldn't have to explain this, as it is common sense, but they did! They were also up front about possible "add-ons". There was one section of our roof that is an overhang and 'newer' to the house. We told them that the construction on it wasn't very good. They told us that they would charge us for extra sheets of plywood, but only if needed. When I got the call about the completion of the roof they let me know that they did not need any extra materials. I really appreciated that they didn't try to charge me more and that they were honest. They respected my time and money, and were incredibly pleasant to work with. read more

We received a flyer from Frisby, with a quote for a roof on our specific house, last autumn and low and behold we needed a new roof this spring! I remembered the quote from the flyer, called them up, made an appointment, and had a new roof in two weeks! It was amazing! For the deets - These guys and gals were extremely helpful in walking me through every step and decision for my new roof. It took all of 30 minutes, I believe, (maybe a new record in their books) but I'd loved that it was quick and painless. We ended up also getting new gutters/ guards, because why not, let's go crazy - and still I thought the price was extremely reasonable and they were upfront with everything we were paying for. We were able to put half down and finance the rest for 12 months 0% interest, which was perfect, and again relieved some stress on us! Their schedule is based on the weather of course but because we had a small active leak they were able to install the roof 2 weeks after our appointment - which gives them 5 stars just for that! The workmanship was perfectly fine and efficient and with very minor damage to my front garden; (aka a couple plants got a little smushed but recovered just fine - and they did use tarps to protect - I think a little garden damage is inevitable). The main guy did speak English, he was very polite when they showed up, and I don't think the rest of the crew spoke much English but that didn't matter - they were there to install a roof. :) Everything was cleaned up after and then a separate crew came 1 week later to do the gutters. Again, just a great job, great follow up, highly recommend if you need a new roof! I was happy to get what I paid for, seriously! read more

I heard about Frisby through a flyer I received in the mail in the Fall 2017. I wasn't in the market for a new roof at the time but I was impressed with Frisby's cost competitiveness that I kept it until I was told I needed a new roof by another roofing company in early Winter 2018. I called and was pleasantly surprised that their offer was still valid for me. Before accepting the offer with Frisby, I did cost comparison with 2 other companies and the other 2 companies costs for a new roof were significantly higher than Frisby. To make sure that I fully understood the offer Frisby was making, I decided to go down to Frisby's office. The office personnel were very accommodating and knowledgeable and I even shared the quote information from the other 2 companies in order to converse on how Frisby's costs could be so different economically. The office staff at Frisby put my mind at ease and I decided to go with them. After I signed the contract and paid half of the job, the process when just as planned. First, the office stayed in contact with me throughout the process (pre-inspection, delivery of materials, schedule date, post inspection). The job was scheduled and completed quickly, even with delay due to bad winter weather. The job only took 1 day to complete and they were so thorough and complete with their clean-up, there was very little evidence that they were even there, except for the awesome new roof that they put on my house. We received a quote in the mail from Frisby Construction for a new roof. I was surprised not only by the price but by the fact that they could provide an estimate without ever visiting my house. Since the price seemed unrealistic, I set the quote aside and obtained estimates from three other roofing companies. When even the lowest bid was about $3000 higher than Frisby, I decided I had nothing to lose by getting more information. The phone number listed on the flyer provided an informative recording that addressed a lot of my concerns. I learned that Frisby is a family-oriented company committed to maintaining their A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and the flyer that I received was an illustration of the aerial imaging technology that they use to accurately measure the roof and estimate the cost of its replacement without employing a sales force to visit potential customers. This is the primary reason that their cost can be lower than their competitors. The representative that I spoke with after listening to the recording did a good job of answering my questions and we scheduled a visit to the showroom to complete the paperwork. Additional work and upgrades that we wanted increased the original price but still kept it below the lowest of our other three estimates. The installation crew arrived at dawn and completed all work except for a small section over the patio in one long (14-hour) day. We also had the gutters and downspouts replaced a few weeks later and the house looks great. The guys and gals were extremely helpful in walking us through every step and decision for the new roof. It took about an hour. I knew that estimate on the flyer would not be the final price. After selecting a higher quality shingle, the price was quite a bit higher, but still less than what I was quoted from multiple other companies for the same shingles. Additional dollars were added in for ridge venting, for which I complained. We were able to quickly come to a compromise on the additional cost. They also have a five year labor warranty on CertainTeed roofs plus 12 months same as cash on half the balance. Overall, the estimate was head and shoulders above their competitors. Their schedule is based on the weather of course and I was told that I was four weeks out. Almost to the minute, I received a call each Monday with an update. Once I was within one week, the actually date for the install was set. Of course, I was going to be out of town, that week, but I did not want to delay as my wife was home. I did not get to meet the crew, see the drop of the material, see if they covered the landscaping, etc. However, when I came home, other than the new roof, I could not tell they had been there. The post job inspection process left a little to be desired and I have communicated that to Frisby. Overall, the roof looks great and I could not ask for more from a professionalism and communication perspective from Frisby. read more

I highly recommend using Frisby Construction. The office person I worked with was Kim and she kept me informed every step of the way. Working around the weather this March and April caused some delays but I was fine with it. I knew ahead of time that there would be additional expense if they had to replace any boards. They delivered the materials the evening before and completed the work the next day. They cleaned up well and put all of the leftover materials in a pile on the side of my house out of the way. Since I wasn't home when they installed the roof, I wasn't sure why they were there. I called and the person who answered the phone explained that when someone came to check out to check the work done, that they would haul the extra materials away. I used them because they sent me a flyer with a photo of my house and the estimate of what it would cost on the flyer. It was more expensive than the estimate but I added a new roof on my shed and a couple other items. I'm very pleased. My experience was very different from the reviewers who had negative reviews. As stated, I knew everything in advance and was informed each step of the way. I also knew that once installed they would take the money from my checking account. While not comfortable with giving anyone my checking information, it was thoroughly explained to me and I did receive a call about it the next day. Perhaps they read the negative reviews and made changes based on them. The only con I have is that I had to drive an hour to go in and meet with someone to go over everything in person. read more

I was given the number to Frisby Construction from a contractor who was doing some work at our home. I called the office and was greeted by a friendly answering service and was immediately contacted by someone at the office. The office staff was very professional and friendly. They sent a representative out to our home and when he arrived he went around the entire house and then came in and discussed with us exactly what we would need, explained how the job would go and all the ends and outs of everything that would be done to ensure we received a good quality roof. After a few other companies gave us their bids we decided to go with Frisby Construction. We were NOT disappointed. Their crew arrived at exactly 8:00am sharp, covered our entire yard with cloth to ensure that all the tear off would not go into our yard and flowerbeds. Their crew was professional and hard working. They completed the job in one day working until the job was complete. When they left our home everything was cleaned up and no signs of any work performed other than our new beautiful roof. We enjoyed working with everyone at Frisby Construction especially Lizzy who was totally on her game. When we called her with any questions she answered them immediately and was ALWAYS available to talk to us. Frisby has a unique sales approach which might now be for everybody, but it worked for me. They sent me an aerial photo of my house from which they had written a quote, and it was quite a bit less than I'd estimated even with Angie's list specials. I don't often respond to mailers but I did some research, paid them a visit, and decided to go ahead. The material drop-off, the dumpster drop-off and the work crew were very efficient, and were gone before we knew it. When we had a rain delay over a weekend the dumpster was gone before we knew it. The office didn't seem to keep tabs on these events, but were responsive and quick to catch up. All in all, the work was done quickly for a good price, and they cleaned up very well. They replaced gutter covers that came off and removed/replaced solar lights along the walk. They did replace some plywood without telling me, and I had to call to get an updated invoice, but it wasn't a problem and I believe it was needed. If you're like me you don't relish the idea of calling and scheduling multiple quotes and negotiations. If you do get a Frisby mailer, you might want to get another estimate, or read an Angie's list offer carefully for comparison. I think Frisby's price advantage is low overhead and volume. Quality appears very good although I don't have experience to compare to. read more

Overall, a good experience, more positives than negatives, 4 stars out of 5. The electronic contract was emailed to me, signed by me, and emailed back to them all in one day. Very efficient process and the contract was easy to naviagate. Great process. They delivered the supplies on the day they said they would, where they said they would drop them, and the next day they installed the new roofing very efficiently in half a day, with a large crew. Communication was a little slow at times once they had my deposit, but was acceptable during their busy season. When I did speak to them they were helpful and answered all questions I had. Each employee I talked to seemed knowledgable. Be aware the final price I paid was $322.31 more than my quote ($125.00 "admin fee" is garbage, but it was plainly listed on the contract paperwork before I signed it, "applicable material sales tax" is garbage, "permit fee" is acceptable, credit card fee is acceptable). It's been 6 days since the completion of my roof, and I still haven't been given a final itemized bill of the charges, so I don't know the exact breakdown of the additional $322.31. However, both times they withdrew money they called me first to verify the amounts and that they were ok to withdrawal it. Overall I am satisfied with the job they did. read more

Great work from the Frisby team! It all started when i noticed i had a small leak in my roof. After getting on the roof and inspecting shingles, i noticed my roof was in worse shape than i thought. I had previously received a flyer in the mail from Frisby with an aerial shot of the roof of my house with a quoted price. I also reached out and received 4 other bids from local roofing companies. I was amazed how much cheaper Frisby was than the competitors. It almost seemed to good to be true. I made an appointment to talk with the girls at the showroom in Milford. She educated me about the different shingle options, and i decided turn them lose on the project. Frisby did tell me they were 3-4 weeks behind schedule. On the 4th week they called to let me know they would be out on Friday to do the install. There was a chance of rain on Friday however Frisby brought out 12 guys and the roof was complete in about 7 hours. It looks great, and i believe they have done a quality job. I was told by Frisby they would be back out to close off a gable vent, due to i have ridge vents. I have yet to see them, however this is not a dire need, and i am ok waiting for them to come back out and finish this small task. Overall great experience, i would definitely recommend them, and will use them again in the future. read more

We recently had our roof replaced by Frisby Construction, so I wanted to share our experience. First - The way that Frisby is able to quote the job is GENIUS. Talk about convenience. We had our quote within minutes of our first conversation. They were able to dynamically change the quote, based on my requests for additional/change of items from the original quote. Contract was signed within hours. Second - The timeline to get the job started was incredibly fast. The only thing that delayed the project was the weather (we had a few days of rain come up). As soon as the weather cleared, the team was there to start work. Third - Communication - WOW. I understood exactly what was happening at all times. We have a unique section of our roof, that I was very worried about. Frisby was easy to talk to and ensure that the team at the house knew exactly what the worry was. I was consistently updated throughout the project, from the changes in the weather, delivery of material, and job completion. Fourth - Quality. So far so good. We have had a few stores since the roof went up, and so far everything is holding up. The look of the roof is perfect. Overall - I would highly recommend working with Frisby. We received a flyer with a quote for a new roof. It was several months before we decided to replace the roof. We made an appointment to visit their showroom and discuss the project. They honored the price that was several months old, and there were no "extras" except to new ridge vents which we asked for. The work was scheduled within three week, but was d payed a few days because of weather. On the appointed day, the crew showed up at 7:00 am and started work. They had to strip off two layers of existing shingles which was completed by mid morning. They began installing new roofing, flashing, and ridge vents. The place looked like a disaster area for a while until they were able to load up and haul away the old shingles, but there was no damage to the landscaping. The installation crew worked until about 8:30 pm that evening to finish the installation. By the time they left everything was cleaned up and back to normal. A couple of guys showed up for a short time the next day to finish up a couple of small items. The old roof was removed and the new one installed in a single, long day. No high pressure sales pitches, no extras, good communication, and what appears to be good quality work. Based on their performance I would readily recommend this company. read more

We had a great experience with Frisby and would highly recommend their services. They were extremely helpful throughout the entire process of replacing my roof and were always in constant communication updating us as our installation got closer. It was a pleasure dealing with everyone in the organization throughout the process. Their crew that replaced our roof was fantastic as well. They placed tarps around the perimeter of our home to catch debris and cleaned up very well. With three small kids my wife and I walked our yard upon completion looking for any nails or other harmful debris that may have been left behind and could not find anything. My wife and I initially met with Frisby at their impressive showroom where they covered shingle options, pricing as well as any additional costs that might come up once they removed our old shingles so there were no surprises. My wife and I couldn't decide which shingles we wanted on our home so Frisby was able to provide references for us and addresses of their past jobs with different shingle options so we could drive by and see them in person. Frisby construction sent an areal flyer and I thought it sounded too good to be true, but looked at reviews of them online and decided to take them up on their roof offer. The bid was a little more than what we paid for a new roof in 2011 which we found out only had 2 nails at most on each single so some shingles were coming off. Our property manager watched the Frisby workers for quite a while and was very impressed with the work they did. When the job was finished the property manager sent me a picture and it looked very nice. When the company called to collect the rest of the payment they said there was 4 layers of singles on the roof that took extra effort and time to remove so there was an extra charge for this. I questioned this because I had watched the 2011 roofing job and remembered that I saw the wood when the roof was done so there should be only one layer of shingles. When I told them this they checked with the workers and said they had made a mistake and that was another house that had the extra shingles and added to my house by mistake. I am a little suspicious of this mistake wondering if it was a true mistake or they were trying to sneak in added cost. I might have given them a higher rating if this suspicious mistake had not happened. read more

I received a brochure with a quote (unsolicited) in the mail. I was very skeptical and had never heard of this company. Then I went and sat down with them. They were very helpful in assisting me in getting exactly what we wanted. Communication is a huge thing with me and they did not disappoint. We were given the option of email, text, or phone call. They kept us up to date and installed the roof much sooner than we expected. A few things to know: They do require half down upon agreement and the other half as soon as the job is done so be prepared. The workers covered all shrubs and even our grill. They worked sun-up to sundown. Cleanup was very thorough. They have a magnetic roller to get stray nails that may have been initially overlooked. Bottom line is this place gets it. Customer service, great options, and great communication! We saved nearly $3,500 compared to a neighbors house with similar dimensions. Thankful for the opportunity to work with them. I look forward to seeing what they can do with our gutters next. Give this business an opportunity! If you're not from around Milford you may not know them but you should. read more
