However, the basement was not finished, but had rough-in plumbing installed. We were looking for someone to finish the basement (4 rooms total), including adding an additional bedroom with closet and full bathroom. This included all electrical, plumbing, framing, drywall, door installation, flooring, trim, and painting. Mike was quick to respond to my original inquiry, come check out the space, and provide a quote. He was timely, friendly, and easy to collaborate with. We changed our mind a few times on final design - we appreciate how patient he was with us while we narrowed in on the final plan. The final quote was very detailed and he provided helpful information on the areas for potential cost increase (given that the home is old and there could have been unexpected things identified after work begun). This helped us set our expectations for the project. During the project, he kept us up to date on progress or concerns and kept the area very clean (ensuring very little debris made its way outside the basement into our home). He managed all of the subcontractors (electric, plumbing, carpet, etc) so we didn't need to worry about a thing. Made it super easy by having one point of contact! His work speaks for itself. There were a lot of difficult aspects of the basement to figure out (i.e. uneven walls and ceilings, tricky vents or pipes along the ceiling, water/electrical shutoffs needing to be accessible, etc), but he managed to turn the space into exactly what we were looking for. The attention to detail makes all the difference! In the end, the project took about two months (including carpet installation) and final cost was in line with the estimate. We had an unexpected upstairs bathtub supply leak which was staining the kitchen ceiling below…read more Scott of Broad Ripple construction quickly diagnosed the problem, suggested a good approach to narrowing down the exact source of the leak, and implemented that approach to a very successful conclusion in just a few days including repairing the kitchen ceiling. (He had done some unrelated work for us previously, also with excellent results.) The cost of the leak problem remediation was very reasonable. If I could give 0 stars I would. This contractor is dishonest, doesn't actually complete any work…read morethemselves, has zero knowledge on construction and sought to scam us out of money as well as the subs she hired to actually do the work. We hired Lakeview to complete some repairs to our deck. We got an initial quote that included a rain escape system. We decided not to install the rain escape because we didn't need to water proof the underside of our deck and instead we wanted to just make the repairs. She, Whitney Crider, revised the quote and sent it to us for acceptance and payment of half of the over $6,000 job. I asked her not to start the job until we returned from a trip. While on our trip we find out she decided to send the workers to our home to start. She got my request to postpone the start, contacted the workers to find out if they needed me there, they said technically no, and she gave them the go ahead. All without me knowing or approving. Turns out they had problems and she told the workers to call me. We couldn't make informed decisions from thousands of miles away and asked the works to please stop. Lakeview, Ms. Crider, was not happy at all. When I started to ask questions about when tasks listed on the quote would be done she started to tell me that three major items listed on the quote/contract would not be done and she had them on there in error and it was a typo on her part. We signed a contract based on what she sent. She was now trying to change the terms. We found out the workers doing the job were being paid about half of what we were paying her and she was refusing to honor her contract, telling the workers that she wouldn't pay them if they honored the contract and performed the work. I can not say it enough, Lakeview Home Improvement is inept, happy to scam its customers, will look for any way to get an additional penny out of its customers and subs. If you hire them be prepared to have an attorney on hand who handles construction.
