Great food, ambience and service! So authentic! The pot roast was very tender, and all the sides and sauces were superb!

I had the rump roast of beef on the waiter's recommendation as they were out of the butter-fried plaice from the North Sea (a seasonal special June-September). Oh my goodness! One of the best roast beef dishes I think I have ever had. The brown gravy was amazing as was everything else on the plate. The caramelized pearl onions were unlike any caramelized onion I have previously had and I've eaten a lot! I'm a huge fan of caramelized onions and these were unique. I have seen some complaints that the kitchen closed early. They only make a certain amount of food and that is fine. I am glad to hear that places don't have endless amounts of food because that means it is freshly prepared. The only thing I didn't love was the old fashioned apple stew. Maybe because it was served cold. I don't think it was bad quality or anything like that. Just wasn't something I enjoyed that much. I will definitely return when I am back in Copenhagen.

After 22 year away, this Dane has finally found his way back home. This is my first stop for a amazing traditional Danish meal! Wienerschnitzel with a glass of local Aquavit and a pint of beer! Skäl!!

Great food and good prices (for Denmark)! The lunch fried meatball platter was the best food I've had in a long while, especially the potato salad. Good selection of Danish draft beer and liquor. I'd definitely return!

Had typical danish lunch here. Location is very cozy and typically furnished. The history of the place is very interesting - this has been an home for nearly homeless young women who needed to prostitute there selves to get along. The owner was Mrs Barner so the restaurant kept the name. Smørrebrød with pickled Herring, Curry Herring and the Roast Beef was very delicious.

    Water and beer.

Perhaps the heat inside and my lack of appetite colors my opinion of this typical Danish restaurant, but for the cost, I would try another spot next time. One of our group raved about her liver dinner but my wiener schnitzel was dry and not flavorful. Others seemed to like pork stew OK. Portions are huge and each person must order an entry - lots of wasted food at the end of our evening.

I enjoyed our dinner at this traditional Danish Restaurant as our first meal in Copenhagen. My friend got the Pork Stew and I took the Roast Beef. The beef was very tender, it came with the lingonberry sauce and a side of steamed or boiled potatoes. It kind of reminded me of Thanksgiving meal. I finished the entire plate, including the potatoes! I hated myself as I took my last bite but I think I do not regret it at all. I guess I will gym harder when I get back home. I had a taste of Pork stew as well. The soup is tomato cream based, very creamy and dense. It had great depth if flavors but not overpowering the tender pork. Her dish came with a side of mashed potatoes and I think I stole half of that. It was creamy, fluffy, surprisingly light. Any beer would do but we took the Royal Pils. As well as a shot of traditional liquor (made from potatoes as told by our waitress). The service was amazingly good (as opposed to some reviews indicating bad service). Overall, we had a great time and a better hearty meal. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends!

This is not a trendy farm to table restaurant. Expect herring and red checkered table clothes. My fish was okay. Good value.

Hearing assortment appetizer. Interesting and good.

Recommend by our Concierge. Reservation definitely recommended. Authentic Danish dishes. Has outside patio with heaters as needed. Pricey but about average for this part of Copenhagen. Food worth it though. Tried their own schnapps with herbs. Very good. Enjoy, very good.

Expensive, and unclean. Food was not that great. The service was extremely slow, and not very friendly.

Very very rude service. Not welcoming at all. Would not recommend dining here. Many other great restaurants to try great Danish food.

Incredible authentic Danish food. Hyper competent waiter that also gave us free liquor from his hometown. Highly recommended!

We tried visiting on a Monday evening with no reservation and the restaurant let us know they were…read morefully booked (which I was a bit surprised about). Luckily, we were able to make a reservation for dinner for the next day! There is an option to go for a la carte or a pre-fixe menu of 4-6 courses. We opted for the 4 course which had a cured haddock, mussel soup with scallop, a stuffed cockerel and dessert. I paid the supplement to upgrade the main to a Hake. Overall, the food was delicious; the ingredients tasted fresh and paired well together but nothing was mind blowing. We did think the mussel soup was a bit too salty. I particularly liked the Hake, which was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside (I had Hake a few days prior and it was on the drier side so was a bit worried) - and particularly enjoyed it more than the cockerel! I also really liked the dessert - there were so many components to a simple looking dessert and everything was so tasty :) Service was just okay. The one thing to note is that they charge a service charge for credit card which isn't clearly stated on the menu anywhere. When we saw it on the bill and asked the waiter, she didn't seem to be fully understand it either but it is what it is

Food was good but it was very noisy with a big group sitting beside us…read more I would enjoy more if it is not a fix course meal because we all (party of 3) got so full before the main course arrived... The first 2 courses (halibut and soup) were amazing and refreshing. The main course (my colleagues had cod and rib eyed, not pictured). My brisket was nicely cooked but nothing surprising. I tried the mushrooms on top of my colleague's rib-eye, I enjoyed the mushrooms more than the protein. Quite pricey as stated by other reviews...especially if one doesn't want mixed couse meal.
