This review is actually for the location nearest the Carlsberg Beer complex, which is located at Købkes Pl. 36, 1799 København. We had a really nice meal here including both a plate of fish-n-chips as well as a lobster roll. Both dishes were hot, fresh and full of flavor.

YUM! The menu and the reviews I saw had us initially unsure if this was the type of vibe we wanted for dinner. It seems more like a fast casual restaurant, but it's actually a sit down with many yummy fish options! We loved the poke bowl which was SO filling. We also had the fried shrimp appetizer which I would highly suggest giving a try.

We both had the salmon poke bowl (I wanted the fish and chips, but I was behaving - and the fish and chips looked really good). The poke bowl was served in black rice with seaweed salad, avocado, edamame and ginger with a mayo and soy sauce dressing. The salmon was fresh and the bowl was delicious. The black rice has a subtle crunch to it and made the dish even more interesting (in a good way) to eat. If you're looking for a casual place to eat and to have a great meal, come here and you'll leave happy.

So when I landed in Copenhagen early evening, what did eat on my first time in Denmark? Two words: lobster rolls. It was simply divine. Paired it with a beer and it was a match made in heaven. Actually, it was a recommendation from the hotel staff. And yup, they were right. It was great spot and affordably priced as well. I am "hooked". For your viewing pleasure.

Strangely enough my favorite thing about this restaurant wasn't the seafood (it's amazing), the ambiance (cozy), or the service (very attentive) but the Mac and Cheese croquettes. They're perfectly fried with a bit of a heat kick and, paired with the truffle mayo, are now the standard for all other Mac and Cheese croquette. I don't think I'll find any other place that will make them just as good, but I at least know where to get the best!

Fish and chips were exactly what I wanted. The Lobster Roll was good, but I would double down on the fish and chips. The Truffle Mayo was a nice touch. The service was some of the worst I experienced in Denmark, but the staff may have been having an off day.

This was almost a 3. The server was pleasant and the atmosphere was clean and nice. But she was the only server, handling the only 3 customers in a place that could seat 60. We had the lobster rolls which were mostly roll and not so much lobster. Pretty disappointing there.

Super tasty lunch spot. In a hipster area, Hooked spotlights fresh fish dished with a creative flair. Ruben, the manager makes everything flow.

The food was delicious! It was tucked away and not too crowded. We really enjoyed this meal and would come back!

They are all wrong. I ordered the oysters, mussels, bread and seaweed butter, tomato salad, and languste. In order, the oysters were pretty good. They were one of two things I enjoyed. However, my stomach didn't feel very good after eating them. The mussels were below average. I've had much better, there just wasn't much flavor to them and the sauce they were in tasted fairly average. The bread and seaweed butter were very good--the bread specifically. The seaweed butter just tasted like butter. The tomato salad was average, it was a little too creamy for my liking. The languste was horrible. I was assured it would taste similar to lobster, it in fact did not. It had a rather funny taste to it, that I wouldn't describe as good. It was meant for two and neither of us found it appealing. It was 1800 DKK, about $275, we shouldn't have ordered it. The establishment is extremely busy, they seem understaffed. Their staff are running this way and that way and it's difficult to get someone's attention. Ambiance is alright. I think if it was a little less busy then it would be nice but the sheer volume of people subtracts from the vibe. Overall do not recommend and I wouldn't come back. Very overrated.

Always on the search for some authentic food native to the culture, you can certainly find it here. But you can also find lots of other stuff, too like tacos with fresh tortillas and mochi ice cream! FOOD: Some of it was great! Some of it okay. The smorebord was good but not the best I've had. Still I had the Danish meatball one and the smoked salmon one - both good but not great. Loved the fried fish and the pork belly! Supremely awesome. The mochi ice cream was a treat and the French meringue were simply delicious. I bit undercooked for me, but I can't turn down a good meringue. SERVICE: Overall, good. Nice portions. Great plating. And the people were all very nice. More like quick service but that's what you want from a place like this so you can experience different places. COST: Worth it. Nothing was overblown. All were a tad bit on the higher side, but not more than you would epxect. Definitely a fun place to go and check out.

Flower stands with freshly cut flowers and an abundance of vegetable crates colored the exterior of the building's grounds. The enclosed building is made from beautiful glass and metal, with the inside feeling open and airy, making it feel a bit like a greenhouse with its natural lighting. We found an assortment of shops offering meats, condiments, pastries, baked goods, coffee, fresh seafood, pastas, prepared salads, sushi, lunch spots, cured meats, nuts, beer, wine, fresh herbs, sandwiches, caviar, ice cream, cheeses, housewares and gift items; quite the assortment here! The only thing that was difficult to find were non-food gifts for our friends that were actually made in Denmark. Most were manufactured overseas. We stopped and had a wonderful lunch at the very popular Hallernes Smørrebrød, seated at their bar. This market is definitely worth a visit.

The restaurant's design is definitely minimalist with simple blank walls and a comfortable mix of fake and real plants. There was no air conditioning but they found a fan to keep us comfortable- we were amazed that more folks in the full restaurant weren't sweating the way we were. Perhaps the locals are more used to the summer heat with no AC than we were. We had the 3-course prefixe meal with my my wife and daughter on the standard menu while I was on the vegetarian track. The website says that Host is the Danish word for harvest, and that their focus is "on the Scandinavian kitchen with lots of surprises." The staff used the word "surprises" explicitly, using it to describe the amuse-bouches and palette-cleansing bites served between the advertised courses. We started with a flight of croquettes with cheese and I think my wife and daughter had something like a smoked fish hash of some sort while by I had a delightful bite of salad on a molded sweet cookie tart shell. The baby bread loaves with a special butter were lovely - how do you innovate butter? Great job. My first veggie entree was fried carrots with horseradish, which was grand. Next I had a barley risotto with amazing brown beech mushrooms on top. Awesome. There was a spot of potato soup in there somewhere and the best bite of the meal was another of the surprises - a pre-dessert mochi-like shell with strawberry powder on the outside and hazelnut ice cream (I think???) on the inside. The strawberry rhubarb dessert was excellent also. Such a great meal. Loved it.

I came here on a "date" with one of my closest friends from NY and we both could not shut up about how great the food was, from start to finish. The only drawback is that my jacket smelled like meat fat for about a week afterward. If you come here in winter, do not be tempted to hang yours by the bar where all the convenient hooks are. The entrance to the kitchen is right next to that wall, and trust me, you will regret it (even my perfume wasn't strong enough to destroy the stench).
