This was classic modernist restaurant. Even the chairs where classic. I enjoyed the prefix meal. The salmon was delicious and it came with a wasabi sauce that didn't overcompensate the fish. I had the beef cuvette, it was cooked just right and the red wine sauce they paired it with was a great match. The rhubarb bomb drink was AMAZING...I'm a huge girly girl drinker...so this was MY drink. Very sweet, pink and wasn't super strong. The rainbow sundae was a great desert. Without the meringue, it wouldn't have been the unique desert. Loved it!

It's our first time in Copenhagen and read so many good reviews about Madklubben. We decided to have our Christmas Dinner here. We definitely made a right decision. Food was amazing, from appetizer to dessert. Service was great! And don't forget to ask for the pork chips!!!

Amazing place to try out new nordic cuisine at an affordable price. I had the most amazing steak tartare to start off with, tasted the chicken dish my mom had ordered as well, was great. Had flounder for the main course, was delectable and rounded it off with a platter of desserts. Just too yum! A definite must visit if you're in Copenhagen!

SO GOOD. Such a fun and busy place! Our server was so sweet and personable and helped us decide/was patient with us. We got a bottle of California red (a likely story, for the Americans) and I got their chicken on top of mashed root vegetables. I love the pork skins they give you as an appetizer and their brioche is UNREAL. Before our reservation we had a drink at the bar on the other side of the restaurant and though my whiskey cocktail was a bit on the sweet side, I'd order it again. I wish they had this spot in NYC!

This restaurant is located across from the Museum of Copenhagen and was actually further from the train station than I thought it would be. The food is nice and it has a great atmosphere. It gets very busy between 6:30 and 7pm, so I would advise you to make reservations in advance (this can be done on their website). Food: 4/5 The food is just solid good cooking. Homey food that fills you up. We had the pork chop and the cod. The pork chop was very nicely cooked with a crispy exterior. The apples gave it a fresh crunch and the cauliflower was roasted. Unfortunately the cod was too salty for my taste but perfect for my husband (but I am over-sensitive to salt). The bacon, mussel soup was tasty with real American-style bacon but became too salty towards the end. Service: 3/5 People often complain about the lack of service in Denmark and it doesn't usually bother me, but this is the first time I experienced the opposite - overenthusiastic wait staff. Our waitress checked in at our table 3x in the first 10 minutes. She stopped by before I had even taken a seat to ask for our drink orders, she stopped by again immediately after my husband had arrived and then finally to take our orders. Her service was almost pushy as she kept asking us what else we would like to drink (we had already ordered beer and bottled water) and reconfirming several times if we wanted sides with our main course (after we had already ordered a starter). It was super off-putting because it felt like she was trying to sell more things. But I think this may be a one-off experience and for those people who complain about service, this is your place! Atmosphere: 5/5 This place is great for dinner with friends. There is a lot of activity and people enjoying their meals here. You can tell that it is very popular as it fills up very quickly and people sit for a long time to enjoy their meal. Value: 4/5 it is 100 kr for 1 course, 150 kr for 2 course, and so on. It can be a great value if you don't splurge on too many extra things. The food portions are very filling and very good.

We went for Valentine's Day dinner and absolutely loved it. We skipped starters and ordered steak with foie gras and chips for main. I thoroughly enjoyed the sauce and variety of vegetables that the steak came with -- everything went so well together that I finished my steak even before I realised it. We also ordered a glass of red, which was phenomenal. Last but not least, the pork crackling that was served on the house at the beginning was the best I had ever had. Service was also impeccable. The waitress was prompt in taking and serving our orders, and she periodically came to check on us -- all of which was very impressive given how busy the restaurant got. Last but least, I really liked the ambience. Slightly noisy, but posh and hip at the same time, and great for dates. I would come back for sure if I ever return to Copenhagen.

My best dining experience in Copenhagen. A beautiful restaurant with a world class leading cuisine at affordable prices in pricey Copenhagen. The menu is varied and offers plenty of options. Be mindful that portions are big. I ordered Lamb and a side of potatoes friends that seem never ending. Service is top class and the selection of drinks is also great!

Pork chin with apricots and bacon

Had dinner here with some friends from Sweden. We booked a table but managed to be seated in between two families with small children We asked to be seated elsewhere when one child fell asleep on my friends shoe. That was no problem! The always have "menu for the day", that can cost a bit extra, but they also have a variety of starters, main courses and desserts. 1 dish-100kr 2 dishes-200kr 3 dishes-300kr...and so on... Waitress, cute and friendly, recommended us to try the pork chin with apricots and bacon for starter. It was really delicious and the meat was tender. The apricot were a bit too sweet for the meat, according to my own taste. We skipped the recommended BBQpork and went for the lamb coulette (I choose pea salad as a side). The salad was awesome next to the lamb meat, which also was good! As their AC couldn't handle the heat on this summer day and we decided for dessert at another place. I also remember the dessert menu not as very attractive. Remember to ask for Matklubben Vesterbro's smaller rooms as the larger are not as cosy as the smaller ones when booking a table, which I recommend that you do!

This was around 4:13 pm on a Saturday. We order three smorrebrod and we ate them in the Tivoli food hall. All were served on plates. The correct way to eat was with a fork and knife as we learned while watching an episode of Somebody Feed Phil. The chicken salad was undoubtedly our favorite. Lots of shredded chicken but overall smooth and tasty. We crumbled the bacon to add some texture and that was even better. The marinated salmon was ok but we liked the nice pop of flavor from the pomegranate seeds. I may try to add them at home to my smoked salmon. The egg and shrimp smorrebrod was tastier. We returned our empty plates back to the counter when we were finished. Not completely in love with open face sandwiches but may try again on a future return trip to Copenhagen.

We liked it so much we contemplated going back and ordering more! We sat in the dining area to eat, which had a high chair available. We also got a window seat which had a beautiful view of the square below and some stunning architecture. We sat there for awhile just enjoying the view.
