I think it has something to do with the well-honed system of explanations and progression they use as well as the tutor quality. Mathnasium tutors seem to be more intelligent and more respectful to the kids. They are friendly to her and welcoming: She has never said "I like working with this one and not that one" she likes them all, she doesn't ask to quit, and her confidence has increased. We came for homework help. I could have quit when Covid hit but stayed. She needed face to face help and needed some bad experiences in school wiped clean. I originally didn't want the placement test and just wanted to take it from where she was but am so glad now they do it that way. Parents see the placement test results and monthly progress report which might panic you with how much needs to be done, but even a month or two is worth it if you can't stay longer.
