The end result is the perfect seasonal parklet that's perfectly fitting in the time of East Passyunk's restaurant renaissance, and you'll almost always see a few South Philly characters taking it all in. While the Fountain is always the perfect spot to kick back and relax to a good book, It also see's it's share of action including the Wednesday Farmer's Market, holiday activities once the fountain gets transformed into a "Christmas tree", and a dj/music station during all of East Passyunk Ave's street festivals.

It was a bit smaller than we expected, but we really enjoyed it. There was a nice variety of unique vendors, and everyone in our group ended up finding something they loved. My sons picked up a cool vintage jersey, a vintage shirt, and a locally created independent comic book, while I found a beautiful pair of handmade earrings. The atmosphere was one of the best parts. The music playing in the background created a fun, laid-back vibe that made it a great place to stroll around and browse. If you have some free time while you're in Philadelphia, it's definitely worth checking out.

Fun public art space, not too far from Love Park around the corner, as well as of course, City Hall, PA Convention Center, Jefferson Station, PAFA, and a million other c-city attractions. Climbing fifty stories isn't too bad…read more You don't have to be in tip-top shape to participate in this event, but it's probably a good idea to practice beforehand. In any case, it doesn't take too long to do all fifty floors. Most folks finished in less than ten minutes. There was quite a crowd; we even saw Mayor Nutter. All proceeds benefit the American Lung Association. Can't wait for 2011's Stair Climb!

I order the father Danny which is their meatball sub. Was informed it was 30 minutes. Fine. 40 minutes later my pre teen is getting antsy. Then I'm informed just a little while longer. Meanwhile I'm witnessing the chef walk out the door, go down the street, and return with fresh broccoli rabe from one of the vendors. Now I'm considering walking out. And then the sandwich arrives. It is a glorious sandwich with perfect textured meatballs, a tangy red sauce, ricotta and mozzarella and pesto. My son's rage vanished immediately. This is the best hands down meatball sandwich I ever had. Everything was on point. Meatball itself was not mealy or super dense, just the perfect bite. One sandwich at $16 was massive enough to where the both of us had to take home leftovers (which we are eating right now). Point being is that the sandwiches are to die for. The port 'o potty situation was surprisingly great. We never waited behind more than three people even though they seemed a little sparse. The crowds are insane. Tip: do not bring your dogs or strollers to this event. You'll just end up carrying babies and dogs due to the crowds. Night market gathers the best and most diverse group of Philly food trucks in one place I've ever seen, so despite the horrific crowds, you'll see me at these events again!
