I gleefully shout it from the rooftops at every chance I get, but it's definitely worth a digital shout, as well....Laurie is truly a class act. I want to start out this review by saying if you're on the fence about choosing a photographer or worried about the cost, I a total stranger have to say this will be worth every penny. You will love your photos beyond what you could ever have expected. Well, now that that's out of the way, let's talk details. Laurie was on top of her game every step of the way, from emails, to timeline, she even came early to our city hall wedding and helped me into my dress. She has not one, but two cameras on her at all times, because she cares about the angles and details in your photos. My new husband hates having his photo taken, he gets tight when a camera is on him but when he left our wedding day he said that was the easiest it's felt in front of a camera. I felt such a relief to hear him say that and when we got the photos back he definitely meant it, every photo he was at ease in. We had some must get city hall shots and Laurie made them happen for us; even at the cost of guarding spots to make sure another bride didn't steal them. This review is, admittedly, long overdue. Laurie shot our wedding at SF City Hall back in November 2016, and honestly played a big part in our memory of the day. My wife and I decided to have an elopement wedding, due to our families each being thousands of miles away, and us not wanting to wait months or years to tie the knot. As such, on the day it was just us and Laurie, with her fulfilling both the role of documenting our wedding and witnessing it (in a legal sense). She knew all the best places for shots and got a great range of both indoor and outdoor photographs (thankfully it was a beautiful day!). Planning a San Francisco Wedding from Chicago was not easy, especially because we were unable to meet our vendors prior to our wedding week. This is a ridiculously overdue review of our wedding photos, but better late than never. Laurie is amazing. Such a gentle spirit and we are so grateful that she was able to photograph our wedding in a very far to reach secluded location near Kirkwood, Tahoe. First of all, she drove a long way to get there, then was such a good sport at camping on the premises and her presence throughout the day was calming. The resulting photos are beautiful, intimate. We threw a real challenge at her with tons of family portraits and she did an amazing job getting all of them. Most importantly, she was able to capture the natural setting, the love we share for each other and the spirit of our special day. The lighting could not have been more challenging with an all-outdoor-harsh sun for most of the ceremony. Laurie is such a talented photographer! We are so thankful that our friend introduced us to her. Before we booked her for our wedding, she set up a casual meet-n-greet to discuss what we were looking for and to explain how she typically steamlines the weddings she works. She is extremely professional and upfront. She provided us with a clear contract and made sure to remind us about important dates or tasks. Not only did our photos turn out gorgeous, but Laurie (and her secondary shooter, Taralynn) made us both super comfortable on our wedding day. She has an incredibly calming demeanor and kept us and our guests on track with our timeline without feeling pushy. Her photos have a romantic, artistic, indie and airy feel to them. They were the perfect style to supplement our nature-themed/boho wedding. She captured so many wonderful moments that we will cherish forever. Laurie was awesome! She was clearly very experienced with City Hall weddings. She went above and beyond in two key moments, once during our ceremony and once when we were done shooting. During the ceremony she got the previous (very rowdy) wedding party to quiet down so we could actually hear the judge. Laurie is a gem. We had an intimate city hall ceremony so it was important to us that our photographer be someone whose company we enjoyed and who fit right in with our friends and family.
