At the end of October I took a last second weekend trip with my lover to the Tremblant area. Our…read morefirst morning there we woke up starving and began our search for a good breakfast place and happened to decide on Le Charlotte after a quick online search. We were not disappointed! We arrived around 9:00 which is apparently late for this place as we had to wait a bit outside for about 45 minutes. It was a beautiful day and the nice chairs and picnic table outside make the wait almost enjoyable. After talking to some regulars which advised us if you don't want a long wait you have to come by 8:30 on weekends! However it is worth the wait! Seated in the cozy restaurant/house with only about 12 tables it felt like we were in someone's dining room. Starving by this time we pulled our hair out trying to decide what to choose from the delicious options on the menu. In the end she went for sweet and I went for salty. I couldn't have made a better choice! I got a grilled cheese smothered with house onion soup, hollandaise and a poached egg. Because my eyes were bigger than stomach I ordered a side of perfectly cooked bacon! I couldn't have been more happy with the breakfast dish. Simple yet creative and extremely hearty! The onion soup was rich and very flavourful and purposely not too salty which made the grilled cheese underneath fill that void! House made hollandaise sauce added even more richness to the dish making the perfectly poached egg gourmandese overkill. My lover's crepe dish was the complete opposite. Fresh crepes smothered in chocolate and a generous amount of fresh fruits provided the sweet to my salty on the table. Although perfectly prepared and delicious there was nothing particularly creative about the dish but it's just breakfast after all and if you are a sweet loving breakfast person this would be a perfect dish for you! My breakfast was so satisfying that we went back the next day and I ordered the exact same thing. I can't say enough about this place. Cozy, warm, welcoming, creative and woman owned and operated. I'll definitely be back and if you get there late and have to wait it's definitely worth it!

Some people came after us, ordered, ate and LEFT before we got our food. I tried to give no tip, but the waitress would not let me, the software forces you to leave a tip higher than zero unless she pushes a special button before the payment screen. I felt scammed, and my entire family was unhappy as this was the last meal of our vacation and it was the worst one.

I made this account specifically so I could review this place. I've been going here since I was in…read moreelementary school (I'm 17 now). It's always been a special morning when we got Broadway for breakfast. They're a similar restaurant to Zak's Diner; with great food and their signature Homefries (that could sometimes use a bit more seasoning). You can get their Homefries anytime, even after breakfast, but their quality isn't as good as fresh in the morning. On top of just the food, the have amazing service. The staff is always happy for a quick chat or there for a good recommendation. In terms of speed, it depends on when you come, but provided you know what you want, it can be as little as 5 minutes (the time it'd take to drive to the store). Now to the Ambiance. The place is inspired by NYC's Broadway (specifically their Musicals) so the restaurant's walls are decorated accordingly. Overall, this is one of my favourite restaurants in all of Ottawa, and probably my favourite one for eating breakfast. My only qualm is asking that the Homefries receive more seasoning, but that is something so minor that it shouldn't result in the loss of a star from my review, and similarly it only really happens when I order takeout. Edit: I forgot to mention that from what I've seen, the owners are great people. Some of their staff have worked for over 10 years (some over 20), and they still have good things to say of their bosses (the staff, I mean), which is not something you tend to see. Also, this place is locally owned and operated.
