The place reeks of cigarettes and they allow active smoking inside. I'm sure some appreciate this but it's a deal breaker for me.

Thecwaitress told us they bring in Nashville muscians;some that are starting out. The food was amazing! Theur menu is small but poserful. They are connected to Pioneer Pizza who makes theur subs and pizzas plus they smoke their meats on site snd had 3 house sauces on the table. I had the smoked wings. Naked but rubbed with a dry seasoning. The wings fell off the bone and were so flavorable! No sauce was needed. But I tried the three table sauces. Hubs had an italian sub. Heand I agreed it was provably the best italian sub we"ve ever had. I ordered the Grainery salad - it was great because I like Blue Cheese ceuymbles and red onion. Both flavors were strong so avoid it you are not a fan. I ordered the large and feel it was the equivilant of a side salad-kinda small. The Grainery attracted groups if friends, families with yound children and couples out fir a dare night. Highly recommend! Our server was great. I try not to ask "what is your favorite menu item"? Instead ask what is poplular. Our server had a real passion for the food, the history of the building and the Plain City community. When our meal was over, she directed us to the complimentary soft service ice cream with toppings. Great way to enjoy a touch of sweet after the savory meal! We will return!

If you're looking for that laid-back, small-town bar vibe with live music and solid bar food,…read moreTavern 62 might be your spot. When you pull into the parking lot, you're greeted with signs promoting Bike Night and upcoming events, which immediately tells you this place has a loyal following. They even have an outdoor stage for bands, so I can imagine this place really comes alive in the warmer months. Inside, it's dimly lit with more of a bar feel than a traditional restaurant. Neon signs and posters line the walls, and a few TVs are scattered around the room. It's a smaller place -- maybe a dozen tables or so -- but it had a nice mix of people. There were clearly some locals or regulars hanging at the bar, a couple of families having dinner, and a few couples like us. It felt comfortable and unpretentious. Our bartender/server came right over, welcomed us, took our drink order, and grabbed our food order without missing a beat. The menu is fairly small -- mostly bar food staples, a couple of salads, a few pizzas, and sandwiches. Nothing fancy, just the kind of stuff you expect in a neighborhood tavern. I ordered the Porky Burger. It comes with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, and their "famous Porky's sauce." Here's where it got interesting -- the tomatoes were cut into wedges instead of slices, the lettuce was chopped, and the onions were diced small. A little different presentation than I'm used to, but it worked. The Porky's sauce tasted mayo-based with some spices mixed in -- not exactly sure what's in it, but it was flavorful and tied everything together nicely. The burger itself was seasoned well and juicy -- definitely not dry -- and it came on a soft bun that held up to all the toppings. On the side were what I'd call "twister fries" -- kind of like a steak fry that got twisted along the way. They were crispy and seasoned well. Overall, I really enjoyed my burger. My wife ordered the Italian sub with beer-battered onion rings. She said the meat on the sub had a spicy kick -- a little too spicy for her taste -- so she only ate about half. But she did really enjoy the onion rings. They also offer daily specials, and Tuesday's deal is hard to beat: an 8oz steak, baked potato, side salad, and roll for $16. That's a great value. All in all, if you're in the mood for a dive bar atmosphere, live music vibes, and a good burger or classic bar food, Tavern 62 is worth checking out.

There's lots of televisions, a Touch Tunes jukebox, friendly locals hanging out and a couple pull tab / lottery terminals to have some fun with. There's also some really friendly bartenders who are very nice and attentive without being intrusive. All the customers I've seen are really friendly or just keep to themselves. Never had a problem. An added plus is that they have an Ange's Pizza located on premise for some really good eats while you're getting your drink on! 4 stars

A few…read moreyears ago they started serving food, which on the surface sounds great, but they somehow got a waiver to not vent their kitchen so even if you're not sitting near it, you're going to reek. I got home last night and stripped down in front of my washer because every thing I was wearing stunk. Then I had to do the same with my husband's clothes in the morning because they made the laundry room stink since they were in there all night (he got home later than me.) When I got into my car the next morning, I was horrified to discover my car reeked too because the pullover I was wearing was still in there so I had to give my car a Febreze bath, which didn't work because even though I threw my hoodie into the washer before I left, my purse still stunk. I have no idea how the bartenders and regulars put up with this. They must have gone nose blind to the stench years ago. Sidenote: For some reason they removed some of the pool tables and replaced it with a golf game. This always confused me because the pool tables were always used and I never, ever see someone playing this golf game. I just chalked it up to the fact I started going to the bar less and less because I didn't want to smell like a deep fried chicken nugget. Then one night I finally see someone playing the stupid game and it nearly gave me a heart attack. Every time someone hit the golf ball into the screen, it sounds like a gun goes off. It's horrible. The owners have ruined this bar. Take my advice and go to the Mad Cow. Better food, better atmosphere and you'll leave with your clothes and heart intact.
