    Pretzels and tater tots
    Tatianna S.

Came to pastimes for their chicken wing deal on Sunday. With football playing, we arrived around noon. By 1:30, the place is packed and there's not a seat, so keep that in mind. When we did arrive, it wasn't busy, but we waited 15 minutes before any server even approached us with menus. This was frustrating. We all ordered wings and I really really liked them! They have so many sauces. The tater tots are bland and average - I wouldn't get them again. We did the nachos to start which were fine. I will be back, but never in a rush lol.

My salad was good, but my wife ordered a chicken sandwich and specifically asked for chicken breast, was served thigh meat instead.

Great environment with everything you expect in a good pub. All the food is good, but the wings are some of the best in the area!!

We both got the fried chicken BLT, the spoon bread and mac & cheese. The spoon bread is simple corn bread, but it was really good. The mac & cheese was homemade and delicious. The sandwiches were outstanding and huge. My daughter and I could have split one between us. Instead, we brought two halves home. Not sure what this place used to be. High ceilings with barn beams and an old style post office mail box layout, like you might see in an old hotel. Regardless, would not hesitate to come back.

We actually got to the restaurant a little bit early and they ended up seating us outside, which was perfect. For food, I had the fried chicken sandwich with french fries and mac & cheese. My girlfriend had the chicken sandwich as well, so we each got a different side. The chicken was perfectly cooked without being overly greasy or oily. The french fries were delicious, and the macaroni and cheese was heavenly. Our server was very friendly and intensive to our needs. I felt like our food came out very quickly. Overall great time here and can't wait to come back. Love going to this place in Cincinnati as well, so I was very happy when they opened one up in Columbus.

We ordered the Wedge Salad and the Fire Grilled Chicken Sandwich with a side Caesar Salad. The wedge was outstanding, topped with Nueske bacon, pickled red onions, crispy shallots, and tomatoes, with a delicious blue cheese dressing served on the side. The chicken sandwich was equally impressive, featuring aioli, thick-cut Nueske bacon, burrata, gem lettuce, and crispy ciabatta. The chicken was grilled perfectly, served thin and tender. And let's be honest -- everything is better with bacon. Service was excellent. Our server made great recommendations, the food arrived quickly, and the timing was perfect for making our show. Reasonable prices, great food, and a lively atmosphere. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Full bar so finding what you to drink is not a problem. Chardonnay is $16 a half glass. They have two soups and two salads to choose from. The entree list is limited. I ended up with the French onion soup and a wedge salad. Over all it was a nice meal. Prices were high but maybe because it's also a hotel. Nothing exceptional about the little west tavern though that's why I'm giving it three stars.

The bread was good and the sprouts were fantastic. For dinner we had the crispy pork shank, the plate of all the meats and cheeses along with a chopped salad. The menu looked interesting and following the reviews, we wanted to try a lot of items. In general, the appetizers were good. We liked the brussel sprouts, hummus and burrata. The bread was good and had an interesting flavored butter. Our main entrees came out a short while after the appetizers. The ribeye was good and cooked to temperature. Good but nothing great. Another had the beef tips and thought they were just okay. Another had the egg noodle linguine which was way too oily. And another had the salmon which they thought was fishy and mentioned it to our waitress. Service was okay. Our waitress stopped by several times to check on us. The food came out pretty quickly but we were not in any rush. An okay experience but definitely did not live up to our expectations.

The Rail in Grandview Heights is one of the offerings for restaurants that have popped up since the development of Grandview Crossing. It is a welcome addition to the area and offers dining. That is a step up from simple casual or fast food. It has been my experience at this location. Reservations are not a necessity. However, I always recommend calling for reservations or making them online. A table reservation simply leaves less to chance. The staff are friendly and helpful and accommodating customer needs. My hubby ordered the Bootlegger burger with the BBQ sauce on the side, and I ordered the Bonfire burger; we also ordered pretzel bites as an appetizer. I used Toast to order and was given a 15 to 20 minute wait time. Once we pulled into the lot for the restaurant we saw that they had designated spots for takeout, so we pulled in. It isn't 100% clear on their sign if you need to call them when you arrive; there is a number listed on the sign but that's it. So I called them to let them know we had arrived and the young lady ran our food out to us. It was smooth and seamless and we headed home. All of the food was hot and delicious! Nobody can make a burger like The Rail!! They are a little pricey; with tip, it cost $57.00. But you get what you pay for! We will definitely order takeout from them again soon. Next time I think we will just run in and snag our order since they have a convenient side door marked "carryout" separate from the entrance. Super convenient!!
